- This is just 1 part of repairing a GM 10 bolt 7.5 inch differential. The spider gears or mini spool needs to be partly disassembled and C clips need to be removed in order to get the axles out. Then you can replace the axle bearings and seals.

Can't get any easier than that, simple and direct without a word said .
nice job thank you
You're welcome!
@@jerryturensky what is the part number for the bearing and seals. Thx I can't find em anywhere I got a gm 10 bolt 3.23 gears and a 26 spline thx
@@joepawlu9523 I found the part numbers in Rock Auto, sorry I don't have the part numbers, it was a long time ago.
@@joepawlu9523 I'm a bit late here, but I ordered FAG FC67147. German company. Really good quality. Unlike the Chinese BCA stuff these days.
Like your quick to the point video, having to do the same on 2000 blazer, glad to see you put wheel bearing grease to lube the bearing another video use lucas, but wheel bearing grease is the way.
Good video thank you I needed my memory refreshed
Straight to the point, great video.
Thanks
Great video! Easy job but I came here to confirm how deep the seal should end up (looks about 1/8” past flush)
I pressed it in til it stopped
I came here to find the attachment for my slide hammer you’re using
You left out the part where you have to buy a kit to extract the broken retaining screw in the differential cross shaft before you can pull the C-clip and pull the axle. Nice video of the last steps. Doing it right with proper driving tools.
Yup, mine broke too. Got the extractor kit from Summit Racing. Yukon Gear and Axle makes it but doesn't sell it to the public. I watched CVSahara his video on CZcams on replacing that dam Pinion Retaining bolt, I bought two more from Autoplicity for my '79 Trans Am, it came in yesterday. Ain't got nothing else to do with this COVID 19 lock down.
Fantastic fucking video. Short, simple, right to it. Just what I was looking for.
thanks man this was helpful to me in houston tx
@Marc Owens OK kid
How can I tell it`s a 7.5" or 7.625 inch? I have this 1999 pontiac firebird trans am v8 convertible. I had some differential issues and ordered bearings for 7.6". Problems! I think it`s 7.5" . What is the difference and where can I find the right number 7.5" or 7.6"...?
Thank you Jerry
great video. thanks!!!!
Thank you for the video
what bearings did you use BC for whatever reason...I can't seem to find any for my 87 cutlass..7.5
Real helpful, much appreciated.
Do not do that with your axle shaft the bearing puller will slide through the seal if you can pop them both out at once
Not sure I'd let this guy touch my 01 2500 HD? Much less change the oil! Was astonished he would use the axle splines to remove the seal!
Cause racecar
@@jerryturenskyfreaking out about popping a “seal” as you did. They’d stroke if shown the other things folks do on race cars. 😂
If that's bad will it make a loud thump noise
Does the gear oil lubricate that bearing too? I’m not a mechanic.
yes it does, that's why its important to have the right amount of gear oil in the differential.
Who ,akes that tool that he is using to drive the bearing in?
Harbor Freight
What's the exact name of the tools you were using? (Drive tool and puller)
Harbor Frieght tools
jerryturensky lol 😂 seemed to work pretty well overall tho
Where did u get the puller bud ?

What tool are you using to pull the bearing...it was so quick. We've tried several brands of bearing pullers for our 1970 Chevelle and none work.
He literally just used the axle lol
@@wll1500 He asked about the bearing, not the seal.
@@austinmouw3383 erm.... The bearing just comes right out with the seal.
wll1500 I think you need to watch the video again. He uses a slide hammer to pop the bearing out
@@austinmouw3383 welp fuck, I just made myself look like an idiot. I thought this thread was from another video about a trailer hub...
Does anyone know where you can get that tool to put the new bearing in?
Use a large socket

I'm wrong it's not spring should be twards the oil my car was installed wrong from the factory
Dude say something tell me which way the bearing supposed to go in that's what I'm looking for because it does matter and you're just sitting here quiet as mouse
I made this video to show friends I work on my own race car, hope this video helps, cause I did not show removing the axles.
Seal is in backwards!
