  • Today's project is the Athol 324 1/2X vise! I am excited for this vise because it's the first Athol I've ever done and I am told they are very high quality. Come along and see how this turned out! I end up keeping this vise!

There was one about 75 miles away. Did a little negotiating and went to pick it up today.

That turned out really nice. Thank you for sharing your progress. I need to figure out how to do clickable links in my videos. Great job Chris.

At around 4:50 mark you commented on the screw thread. It is a buttress thread which was common/standard on Athol/Starretts.

Love it the black lettering on the pewter looks great. Did you get all the others done and off to your son in law?
And did you keep the athol? Cause that is a hell of a vise. Anyone would be proud to use that in any shop everyday

I finished only 6 of the vises, but it was the top 6 vises. I sent the vises to Kansas literally this morning. I kept the Athol…..I just couldn’t part with it! Thanks for commenting!

That may very well mean Jan 1939. Reed was known to date their vises. Thanks!
