- How I Prep a Window for Tinting on this GMC Elevation. I don't go overboard when I prep a window to be tinted. Window Tinting can be frustrating when you are struggling to get a clean install. Having your Tint with contamination and having to redo is not what you want to do. Take your time when Prepping for Tint and you can get a clean install. I always use the Pre Tac Cleaner as my cleaning solution and Tint Tac as my install solution.

You missed a spot if sides are dirty take a old microfiber to side seals with windows down...use black turbo for prep side swiper will last longer....

@@FadeToBlackLLC my flat glass tinting definitely out shines my auto tint. I'm trying to learn but I still struggle a little with auto.
At times auto can be frustrating, but you know with all tint the applications are always changing. New cars, older cars, some clean some dirty it's never the same. Even with Flat glass. Just do as best that you can. @@mAd_TiNtER

Just a cheap white scrubbie. You can get things like that from tint suppliers or something similar from Amazon. Thanks for watching.
How would you do that if a factory antenna was on the window like a 2021 Odyssey Elite
I'm not 100% sure of what your asking but a lot of vehicles have antennas built in to the rear side glass and I just go over that with the tint
Do you clean the outside of the window too? Because that’s where you cut the tint to shape first before sticking it on the inside??
Definitely, you don’t want dirt on your film which could potentially find a way into your installation.
what scrub pad do you use?
Basic white scrub pad. Nothing fancy.
I got carbon put on 25% on the passenger and drivers side windows and 5% on all the back windows. And wouldn't u know every window there's either dirt behind the tint all around and on the passenger and drivers windows there not even to the edge. How do i get them to redo it? They said lifetime warranty btw.
Dang man that's tough to deal with. I know it's not going to be perfect but it's hard to say since I can't see what the problem is. I'd say if your not happy just try to work something out. I tell my customers if something bothers them, let me know and I'll do what I can. A bad rap isn't worth redoing a window in my opinion.

Flexfilm makes Tint Tac which is a cleaner.
Why would you prep so well then use the towel you just wiped the door panel with to clean the squeegee. The contamination from the microfiber gets back on the window leaving small dust. Just my observation. I been tinting for 18 years and my guys use to do this and i had a ton of redos for contamination spots.
Right but you also flush these side seal then take a hard card and push down any contamination. I do this every day with no issues or than possibly a finger from two staging I heat out.
I know we all have our own methods but I don't have any issues this way.
Also these towels aren't new so they don't have lint on them.

Those are just white scrubbie pads you can get at any tint supply store. Nothing special.
If customers want to leave stickers on their windows, do you usually just apply the film over the sticker? Does it effect the install at all?
If the sticker is on the outside, I just prep on another window and install inside like normally. Thanks for watching.
If the sticker is on the inside can you tint over it or do you have to remove it prior to tinting? Is it ok to use soap and water or windex to clean the windows or do I need to buy the pretek?
You can tint over it and use what you want to prep the windows 👍🏾

I'm struggling with having contamination on the tint after I install it. Any tips?
Sucks to hear that but those are the steps I use. Look at the area your getting dirt and try too think what can be causing or.
We'll be Live Streaming tomorrow if you want to stop in and ask for help. Some good people in there that can offer some tips.
