    I took my car to a professional shop but it appears that the owner/most experienced tinter works on the more expensive cars, and their least experienced staff work on the less expensive cars. Tint job on my Mondeo wasn't perfect, but at least they're offering to fix it! I just hope that this time, it'll be done right. Sometimes I'm hesitant to take my car back to the same place if I'm not completely satisfied with their work, because they might make the same mistake again, or worse.

    So i have a G37 Convertible (2011), and got my windows tinted two days ago by a professional. Checked the rear window the next day to make sure water that was pooled up under the tint dried up. There was a hair that caused a tiny wrinkle. Went back to him to fix it, and when he removed the tint he removed my defogger. Turns out my rear windshield is part of the retractable top assembly and is sold as a whole piece, so this shop will likely have to file an insurance claim.
    Crappy situation, as if it was done correctly the first time it could have been avoided.

    Nice video. Your experience shines here. I had my windows tinted 8 days ago at a professional shop. I also had a brow or sun strip across the top of my windshield done and from the time I left the shop the patch of bubbles on the brow have drastically reduced and I haven't said anything because they said any bubbles will go away with time. My question is do you think these two appear to now be single contamination bubbles as you described will go away since it has been 8 days in sunlight, or should I have them fix it? I hate to be that guy but on a brand new black car with a 5% brow it really stands out.

    Quick Question: Would you recommend wearing gloves during install to prevent contamination with your fingers or should you just spray your fingers before applying every window?

    • @TintSchoolOnline
      @TintSchoolOnline  Před 2 lety +2

      For this demonstration, we micro-edged the top glass so it meant you could carefully pinch the top side as we were cutting it off with the micro-edged finish.
      You can spray your fingers it will help. Or install with the “no touch method” but as-long as you are just pinching, the worse case scenario will be 1-2 specs.
      This particular Audi is quite hard to install so holding the film just meant there would be less chance for any errors

    The shop that did my Tesla has a huge HEPA filtration system and they use a plotter/cutter for the tint. Manually cutting tint is never going to be perfect.

    • @TintSchoolOnline
      @TintSchoolOnline  Před 6 měsíci +2

      A plotter cuts a template made from someone’s hand cut.
      Plotters are amazing though! Many people who use them leave little gaps around the roll down windows though as it’s so quick and easy.

      "So at first these specs are going to be surrounded with soapy water which makes the specs very hard to see, but as the water dries out though, these specs will become visible" Then it shows me pushing the area a few times to remove as much water as possible REVEALING the specs as I talked about
      please watch the video again, the whole video talks about specs being contamination and the main reasons of where they come from? Not specs having anything to do with pushing too hard.
      Tinting is hard, so if this video confused you, honestly I would recommend taking it to a professional
