I just got one of this oxytocin flushes, even my most highly admired idols couldn't sum it up in such a graspable way so far. I really LOVE what all you just said and it was pretty tough getting through the eating part, there was a trigger chain at every single bite ;-) Deep thanks from a nondual addicted scatterbrain!

Funny I was also eating toast while watching this. The first minutes were just awkwardly staring at shiv while we both ate toast! Interesting thoughts as usual, but if our beliefs are in conflict with our environment, and its causes suffering, in the form of anxiety, confusion, etc, do we try to alter the illusory environment to match our illusory internal state, or do we somehow alter our beliefs to match the external world to promote feeling more grounded and secure?

All depends on which is the more stable illusion. Most will modify their own illusions to adapt to the illusions of society. But every once in a while, you find someone successfully modifying the illusions of society to adapt to their own illusions. We call these people "change makers". Gandhi, Hitler, Steve Jobs, Dalai Lama - all have modified the way society thinks in order to align with the way they do. It's all still illusions

hmmmm. Interesting take. a couple of things. what the hell is "truth", and how is it confusing or separate from mind or illusion, (what ever that is, other than just an interesting word), or anything else for that matter.? and lastly "questioning" everything? Ok, fine, knock yourself out. lastly, "the whole point the truth is to keep asking and looking deeper"?? Sounds like most western philosophy classes I have ever taken. LOL> I personally would rather sit outside and watch the sun come up, and the birds sing, expecting nothing at all. (yeah, "suffering comes and goes much like having to take a shit, it comes and goes, nothing special)

@@spirituallyincorrect Thanks for the reply Shiv. I re-read my original post and it might have come off a bit A-hole'ish. Had just come in from my morning sit and your pod cast, while very good, was kind of like someone pouring ice water on me when I was all snuggled and warm in bed....which in the end, upon reflection, was a good thing, as it helps me see the kinds of things I still push back on or attempt to block. got to open to every idea or concept without acceptance or personal judgement, (or for that matter, I can accept or judge all I want, in the end doesn't matter to much. sun still shines, wind blows, and I am still getting older. got to love the challenge)! keep um' coming.
