I think you should do game reviews. They wouldn't even need to be new games. I think people would watch even if they were games that have been out for a while. That could give you content until something substantial happens in the news.
At this point, I believe when I see it. We’ve been talking about a Switch Pro/2 for YEARS!!! And when the Switch 2 comes out, we’re going to hear about a Switch 2 Pro and then a Switch 3.
Switch 2 specifically has been going for about 2 years. Switch pro was a separate thing

Waiting for the yen to rebound makes no sense to me. They’d blunt momentum delaying the launch where the majority of consoles sales wouldn’t even be occurring. It feels more worthwhile to build a new install base ASAP because consoles don’t make the money. Software does.
Feel free to correct me on any of this. But why would we even assume that the yen is going to rebound? Japan’s economy has been stagnant for decades. No great revival is on the horizon. If anything, they may be weakening the yen further with military spending in response to the China/Taiwan situation, accruing more debt and even printing money which weakens the yen further.
To be fair: "consoles don't make money" is Sony's and Xbox's strategy - Switch is profitable upon the actual system sale and has been since launch. Nintendo has only once taken the apporach that they need to sell software to make a system profitable, and that was when they slashed the price of 3DS after launch due to lack of sales. They have never operated in the way you claimed. Understandable to think this way though, given how the rest of the industry functions.
For Nintendo, if they are selling a product, that sale has to be profitable. It's how they always operated for 100+ years.
Another consideration, and this is just me spitballing: Switch was a massive success during a non-holiday period, right? It's not the only system to be successful outside of the holiday period for Nintendo.
The NES, Wii, and DS were holiday or holiday adjacent releases, but the GBA was actually Nintendo's fastest selling system ever until they kneecapped it with the DS release. That system released in March. GameBoy, their other massively successful handheld that wasn't DS, released in April.
Then you have Switch, a hybrid, become their second biggest product ever, first if you consider overall sales (first to sell over 1B software units) releasing in March.
As a business owner, I have a few key takeaways when considering this.
- Holiday is a nice sales period, but if you have a high quality product with quality, in-demand launch games, your system is selling regardless.
- While 3 of our most successful systems launched holiday, 4 others launched holiday and bombed. Holidays do not = success. It is more important to nail the launch lineup and the quality of the product itself, than anything else. Do that, and it sells itself.
- Lastly, while they lack big 10m+ sellers so far this year, it could be argued the monthly release slate of midtier games may all = out to some pretty nice profit margins on lower budget releases. Princess Peach Showtime may have made them more money than Metroid Dread. It's not as if they aren't releasing games.
I am not saying I like this strategy - I feel a 2024 holiday release would be great. But I also think Nintendo is much more business savvy then me, and if it's a quality product it won't matter when they release it. It will sell.

Nintendo consoles make them a lot of money which is why Nintendo uses old cheap ass hardware instead of modern technology.

Yes, as is system sales, and then at this particular one, they do system sale projections and total platform software sales projections for the current fiscal year.
It's arguably their biggest financial briefing of the year as it recaps last year and projects the next.

I think so. I know one reason for the wait to March 2025 is due to expecting the Yen to increase in value, but given how empty 2024 is of big releases, releasing it in late 2024 would ensure it sucks in a lot of people, provided they have some great games for it at that time.

Just going to say this and leave it be: You have 100% control over what you click and what you watch. Being subscribed to someone doesn't mean you have to click on and watch every video.
I am subscribed to over 200 channels, I do not watch all of their content, only the videos that interest me. That is the way to consume. Not expecting every video to cater to you, but enjoying the content you do. Example: You made a statement that sounds like you enjoy the podcasts. The podcasts are at the same day, at the same time, hosted in the same place. You can choose to keep showing up for them while not watching other videos.
I won't tell you what to do, I am merely making a suggestion. I subscribe to Netflix. But I'm not watching every thing they put out.
