    Joe Dumars is a very under rated player. THe NBA sportsmanship trophy is named after him. 2 time champion and Finals MVP. Michael Jordan called him the greatest defender he ever faced. Joe also won a championship as a GM in 2004 when the Pistons beat Kobe, Shaq, Karl Malone and Gary Payton. Never understood why Joe and the Pistons do not get more credit for this.

    The year was 2010.... I bought 2 Jordan’s. A psa 9 and a psa 8. The 9 was 1200 BIN on eBay, and the 8 was 650 bucks through PSA’s forums via a card shop that couldn’t move it! Centering is amazing on both. Ok... so I hit the lotto or what?! Ended up doing the whole set in psa 8-9.

    Barkley clearly wins x-factor and I’d beg to disagree that his off the court antics hurt him. They were right on brand with his anti-role model persona. He also has the Nike factor. He will forever be cool. Hakeem was never “cool” although he was a better player but cards go beyond that.

    I'm pretty sure I bought the last Hakeem on your graph. After hearing Gary V in his Q&A say that he was beginning to hoard Hakeem RC's, I bought the cheapest one I could find. He thinks that basketball is going to explode in Africa and, therefore contribute to his future card price increases. Also, Gary V is a serious buyer of them, so there's that.....

    Not looking at the recent pop but I’m pretty sure the wilkens PSA 10 is super hard to get . With that being said I’m going to think the PSA 9 version separates itself from the pack . Think about it the value allready proves that because Wilkins wasn’t half the player that Barkley and the dream where . So my money goes on the Wilkins

    Zig where everyone else is zagging--grab Wilkins and Malone rookies plus 86 Fleers of Bird, Magic, Kareem, Dr. J, McHale and Walton as I'm sure these are all quietly getting gobbled up behind the scenes before the big pronouncement.

      @sevki29 Před 3 lety

      Why are the checklists in this set so valuable?

    • @tubenachos
      @tubenachos Před 3 lety

      @@sevki29 Collectors in the late 80s-early 90s used them to mark off players they need to complete sets. Also the card itself is condition sensitive with colored borders, prone to chipping on edges and many of them were always off centered. Mint samples are scarce.

    Just got to this video and am beginning to collect this beautiful set. Can’t believe it was only a few months ago when a PSA 9 Barkley was $300 now you’d be lucky to get him for $700. Do you think it’s time to invest now or wait for the market to cool off?

    • @soaponarope2000
      @soaponarope2000 Před 4 lety +2

      Hey Nick,
      Sometimes when a new set is released the 1st year card of certain players can be worth good $. First year prizm is a great example of this, as well as some first year optic cards in basketball. Also sometimes extends to players first year on big teams (lebrons first year in lakers jerseys). The hobby decides what has value so do your research
