- This lemony shrimp scampi certainly doesn't skimp on flavor. The classic Italian-American dish is prepared with plenty of garlic and butter, and this version gets the bright addition of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

You can't go wrong with an easy recipe like shrimp scampi. I would argue though that a good dose of salt in boiling water BEFORE adding pasta will help season it. ;)
I guess I could try this, I'm kinda new to cooking nice meals, so this will be my first
I am sending you this message 3 yrs. later. Did you ever attempt making it?
I cooked it tonight for dinner 🍤 and my boyfriend liked it so did my dad good recipe 👍
I made this just now. accidentally put way too much butter in (butter is measured in grams here and I made a mistake in the conversion). it was still delicious. will make it again and hopefully it'll be perfect then. thanks Sara!!
i have a midterm tomorrow and i dont know why I'm here. i dont even have shrimp!
lol
literally me i have ap tests in two days and im allergic to shrimp
Will you go out with me?
Our favorite cook! You go girl!
I just made this for lunch and it was delicious! I just added grated cheese and chilli flakes for an extra kick and it was great!
Sarah, you are so amazing! You keep everything so light. You don't get overly serious. I try to cook, but I can't do it like you do. Kudos and cheers!
this was so fun and easy to make and it tastes really good
I like that this recipe doesn’t have it all swimming in grease. I don’t care for shrimp scampi because I think it’s a hot greasy oily mess. I clicked on YOURS because I knew you would make it great! Love all of your recipes and you’re fun to watch.
One of the best videos out there! Every video has too much talking this gets right to the point!
I would recommend adding an ounce of Pernod or even Sambucca to finish the shrimp and sauce for an exotic hit of anise!
I always make this at home, love your version!
I'd always like to add some white wine as well and let it reduce a little bit before adding in my pasta
Cooked it tonight and only added some chilli flakes and it was sensational 🕺
Just made this and it came out so tasty!! Thanks Sarah!
I didn't want to use white wine and this recipe was perfect!
That is a simple dish and I have to make some myself at home since I have some shrimp in the freezer. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
I make a version of this with Linguini and I add parm cheese at the end. It's really good
As I commented before, I loveee this kitchen, way more warm and homelike in my opinion. Recipe looks D-E-L-I-S-H, can't wait to try it. Keep up the great work Sarah. Regards from Madrid,
Tommy.
I love love shrimp and this is just another recipe that shows it's strength ;)
Sarah... Thank you for showing me. Making this for my baby.... Yum...

Wow! This is just too good to be true! I am so going to try this! Thank youuuuu!
Beautiful and beautiful meal. Thank you.
Looks yummy, could I make this with chicken instead of shrimp? I'm allergic to shrimp so was wondering would I need to add anything to the chicken? Thx
Yummo!!!
Yummy!
Hi Sarah, I tried your recipe today,, tastes very good. Thanks
Looked simple and delicious.
Hi Sarah! Just made this for dinner... YUMMY and for keeps :) Thanks for the recipe :)
LOVE this new kitchen! much cozier and homie-like than the other ;)
Looks delish, but I'd have to add white wine. Scampi isn't scampi without the wine
That's SO delicious!! Definitely give it a try!
Wow, that was easy and it looks delicious!
OMG It's so simple!!!!! I love it Thank you
Great stuff !
I'm going to try this tomorrow ! Love your passion :)

You make it looks so easy 😋
Love your food thanks
I.MUST.HAVE.THIS
I like to add wine and crushed chili flakes, yum! Great with a hardy baguette and arugula :D
Love this
I'm going to cook this a lot !!!!!
I love it
hi. very good. recipes
Fact about me: I'm 15% Italian! but I looooooovvveee Italian food
Even simpler, get a fasta pasta cooker and used pre-crushed/minced garlic and used dried parsley. I'll be making this tonight and it'll only take minutes with minimal cleanup - one pan, one plate.
And no flavor
@@BS-pd9hk As someone who spent a few years working in an Italian restaurant, mine compares just fine with theirs. You have no basis for that statement. Someone else crushing your garlic does not impact the flavor. And parsley is just for aesthetic and garnish, it doesn't matter if you use dry or not.
hahaha!! you're awesome !
Yummy...
I DO like this kitchen. I also like the other one. Don't make us choose!! :)
Awesome
nice video! :)
Hey Sarah
can you please show us how to make Rosemary bread?
nice
Ms Sarah carey that look so good 😣
I'm allergic to shrimp could I replace it with another seafood like crab ?
Why not?
Chantelle Culbreth im kindle curious sorry if this sounds judgemental but why this video if you're allergic to shrimp??
Katty Devior the techniques I watch all of her videos and a lot of them you can change the meat and it still tastes good. it's called cooking.
Crab Scampi and Lobster Scampi is delish.
Yum !
can someone tell me how long I would have to cook it for if I add wine. Is it safe to be eaten by kids? and how much is a good quantity or maybe I should just make two different ones, one with and one without.
Alcohol burns off and a nice taste. It fine for kids. You can add first and boil for a min, then garlic and butter or after butter and make sure you cook it down a bit. Like a minute
Wow
I did it!!! I got to the bottom of this channel!!
If i use lime ? Will it taste same??
Hello sweet heart! What cup you are using? I know the cup which the quantity of liquids are about 240ml. So I saw your cup was much more. Can you tell me please 1/4 of that cup how many mm was? Thanks a lot for your concern to answer to me!
She used a standard measuring cup. Use Google to convert ozs to mls
I messed this up so badly. I don't know why I just can't get the angel hair pasta to cook properly. I tried it twice and both times it stuck together and become mush. I cooked them for 2 minutes. I might try this again but with regular noodles.
I don't know if this helps but don't put the angel hair in until the water is at a full boil. I'm talking rolling boil. And you also want to make sure there is enough water in the pot. Oh and stir the pasta around just a little while its cooking
also try adding oil to the water..not too much to help with it sticking together :)
@@HuluKiwi No you never add oil to your water, it does nothing. You put salt in the water to keep it from sticking together, this is what Italians have done for hundreds of years.
Shrimp Scampi
Words in Italian or Italian dialects were often corrupted or misused by non Italian-speaking descendants of Italian immigrants. "Shrimp scampi" is a dish where large shrimp are sauteéd with garlic, wine, butter, herbs, and red pepper flakes, then served over pasta or rice. It is a staple in Italian-American restaurants, most likely the descendant of an Italian recipe that involves langoustines sauteéd in wine, olive oil, onion, and garlic. Langoustines are a type of tiny lobster, called scampi in Italian. Italian-American cooks adapted the recipe but kept the old name.
Nom nom nom nom
For some reason, mine was super sour with this recipe.
+Lymee Cha depends on the acidity of your lemons
Kscape yes, I kind of played with it and got it just perfect. Thanks
2 thumbs up! way up!
😋
No white vine? Smh...
YAsss
Does anyone know of a consistently good, commercially available brand of frozen shrimp? I've purchased bags of shrimp before and gotten burned by mushiness and off-flavors.
I want to also learn how the make the Shrimp Scampi they make at red lobster
No wine?
I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee it ;0)))
Why no wine?
can u add milk to the sauce ???
wtf no
Or heavy cream is there a way to thicken it
you could but then it could kinda become more of an alfredo sauce. a tiny bit of cornstarch can thicken it too
+Nicole I agree with u, the sauce is a special type
Why?
that looks dry
I'll just eat the pasta & shrimp
oh maron
Looks amazing but this is not scampi
I'm 15 years old and I can't make it
Why not?
Honestly, I chop up garlic and my fingers smell for half a week. Do you have a secret?
Rub your fingers on stainless steel. Your kitchen sink would work. It really cuts a lot of the smell right away.
Wash it with lemon juice
When that annoying preppy girl gets old !
Angel hair. Ew. No.
ugh, that hair made me want to puke
captainthrall angle hair is the best though
This looks amazing. I love shrimp scampi it is one of my most favorite dishes. I make it least once a week. I'm going to use your version it looks so delicious.
i love it
I'll just eat the pasta & shrimp
