How is SYDNEY after LOCKDOWN? LUXURIOUS HOTPOT and KOREAN BBQ

- Post lockdown Sydney - today we are back in Sydney CBD and excited to see how Sydney looks like after 3.5 months of lockdown.

One of the first things to do in Sydney after lockdown is definitely getting a haircut. We headed down to Shinka, a Japanese hair salon at the Galeries, above Town Hall train station.
We also noticed that Gram Pancake, the famous fluffy Japanese pancake franchise recently opened a new branch at the Galeries so we decided to have some pancakes with coffees. If you are after a Sydney dessert option, this Japanese fluffy pancake should be on your list.
While walking around Sydney City during the first week of Freedom Day (11 Oct 2021), we realised how badly the lockdown has affected several businesses, some are now permanently closed. There are a lot of empty shops with "for lease" sign. Shops & restaurants that have survived, have started to reopen up again but some are still temporarily closed.
Next we headed down to Sydney Chinatown to have one of the best hotpot in Sydney and our favourite hotpot place in Haymarket called The Dolar Shop Sydney. This Chinese restaurant is located in upper-level food court in Market City Haymarket Chinatown building. This luxurious hotpot place is one of the best hot pot restaurants that offers freshest ingredients, amazing hot pot broth and great customer service. This place is perfect to go with friends and family over dinner or lunch.
We walked down from Sydney Chinatown to Barangaroo to see the new Crown Casino fine dining precinct then head down to watch beautiful sunset in Circular Quay area with Opera House and Harbour Bridge in the background. An iconic structure for sydney that boast amazing views, a must visit places if you are in Sydney.
For dinner, we headed back to Chinatown for some Korean BBQ at a famous Korean celebrity restaurant "chef Jong Won Paik" called Bornga Korean BBQ Restaurant. Again, this is one of our favourite Korean BBQ restaurant and we think one of the best Korean BBQ in Sydney. The interior of this Korean restaurant resembles a Korean palace or a temple. One thing you must order is the woosamgyeop (paper-thin slices of beef brisket).

We had fun over the weekend too visiting family and meeting friends for picnic which suddenly extended to a quick bush walk. My feet are tired from all the walking but my heart is full 😊❤ Ready to explore Sydney again and trying out that Korean BBQ restau will definitely be part of the plan 😋 and a haircut too of course 😉

You Helmi don’t want to do the washing after meal, right? Why don’t you buy a dishwasher then you can just go out for a walk after meal to burn the excess calories then just go home to unload the dishwasher with all the plates sparkling cleaned already like magic
Haha we have dishwasher but trying to clean all grilled pan from KBBQ isnt possible with dishwasher, you gotta scrub it 😆
Yup, it's sad that a lot of shops can't survive lockdowns. We've witnessed it a lot since last year, unfortunately :( A lot of our favourite restaurants were closed down 😭
