Great Video. My 2014 F150 Plati has same issue. Used all OEM parts for resistor, blower motor, Bussman 40A vinyl fuse, and relay and harness is good. Blower stuck on high. Upon removing the blower motor, there was a 1’’ cylinder piece of plastic inside the fan scroll rolling around. Stuck phone camera in there and took pics, but can not see or feel where this piece broke off. When I feel inside where the BM connnects, there is a plastic half moon shape door with 2 pivot points - this rotates about 60-90 degrees to allow airflow. The broken piece has hole/fitting with notches
.I am think it is a pivot point for this fan switch speed selector actuator- . Gonna search and come back with deets on what I find.

It was a pain to get the new one in but got it done no more blower motor sounding like a jet taking off lol. No to mention my dealership wanted to charge me $525 for parts & labor smh. I got the part for $170 saved myself $355 that is a lot of money with everything going on in our world today.

I just successfully completed this procedure. The aftermarket part works great! She makes it look a lot more easy in the video! I really had to struggle to remove the old part and insert the new part. There is no extra room! The 8 mm ratchet wrench for the far screw was key! Nothing else fit in that space.

Thank you very much for posting this video! My blower was roaring and the shop couldn't fit me in before this weekend's single digit lows set in. I pulled the blower and found what looks like some sort of broken spacer/fastener in the squirrel cage. Put the blower back in and everything works just fine. I'm curious about what that loose piece is, though. Anyway, instead of $250 for parts and labor to replace my blower, I spent just $12 for an 8mm ratchet wrench.

Thank you. I watch another video for this and the guy must of removed about a dozen bolts, I did not want to do that. But when he took the blower fan out it had a plastic cap thing in it that he said was probably from the Recirculate door/hinge ... I watched YOUR video, and it showed a much simpler way to remove the fan. THANKS, oh and mine had the same plastic cap thing in it. I don't care about recirculate but NOW the noise/vibration is gone and all is well. IT was Hard getting that back bolt off and on, but patience was the key. * I used a small 8m wrench on the back screw, could only rotate about 1/4 at a time *

I need a blower motor, and I appreciate the mention at the end about your replacement ones having balanced squirrel cages. Do ALL your blower fans come balanced or only certain models? You have a LOT of blowers available but I don't see any mention of them being balanced or not, and all the pics I clicked on are generic and show none in the blades of the fan.

Looks nothing like my 2013 Ford F150 XLT. There is no carpet piece for one, under the glove compartment there is just a black casing. I can't find a single video or diagram claiming to be for a 2013 that matches the duct fan layout for my truck. Everything works but it just started making a racket like the fan is hitting against something. Can anyone tell me if the black casing I am seeing is what I need to open up? I'm old but capable of doing this just can't afford to tear it down if it's not what I need to be doing.

Excellent video. Be careful when removing the three 8mm bolts though, and go reverse and forward a few times on your ratchet if they don't want to come out (they get caught in the plastic somehow). I broke the 8mm bolt closest to the fuse box on mine by using an electric ratchet on it at first, trying to get it out in one swing. Now the new blower motor is held in place by 2 screws only, as there isn't room to drill out the broken off / stuck bolt. What a crappy design!

Just replaced the blower motor controller With a brand new one and fan speeds (1-5) seem to work just fine, but, when you put it on the highest setting (6) the blower motor completely quits, could this be a problem with the blower motor pulling too much amperage. I.e. could replacing the blower motor fix this issue? 2014 F-150 Platnium

I'm guessing a stinky mouse nest is in the fan or the channel to the outside vent. Thx

+Kristi Burr Thanks for watching! It could be a dead motor, but it could be other issues like the resistor or wiring.

Mine started making an awful rattle yesterday. I watched this video, pulled blower out, found a plastic part broken (other website said it was non essential - fingers crossed), removed it from blower, put blower back in, no more noise/rattle.

FYI... You don't have to remove the panel as it doesn't provide any more access. I also did it with a regular socket wrench, a 45 and an extension.

My replacement blower had a broken fan when it arrived. Sorry to say that A 1 Auto did not seem to help me with the return. I purchased another blower for less from a different company.

Guys this is alot harder than the video shows i really had no way to get a tool on the back screw so i had to use a universal socket because theres no room to get to it and it turned into a 3 hour job and my advice people let a mechanic do this itll save you alotta physical pain
