Today I wanted to try make a cool Truck and trailer I saw on Instagram. A VW Microbus was towing a Holiday Trailer that was made from another VW Microbus! It turned out pretty cool!

This is why I love this channel. Customs from a guy who thinks outside of the box and goes the extra mile with the details.
I am in the process of building the same thing except I attached two VW bus bodies together as the camper trailer, and for the cab I used the hot wheels VW flatbed. You did a fantastic job. 👍👍👍👍
That is a half-lap joint you made there to connect the bed to the cab. It's a common joint to make in woodworking. Most excellent job!

What a beaut! I love that VW camper and truck. What a brilliant idea with flange the body panels together like that rather than just glue them together. When I drove around in old cars back in the day, I sometimes used JB Weld epoxy putty to fix rusted out areas on the body after removing as much rust as I could. Works great on minor rust issues, and if done well and sanded down the rust and epoxy putty and painted you can hardly see the area that's been fixed. I once fixed a small rust hole on my VW Golf MK3 inside near the cap filler. It actually turned out pretty nice after repaint

That's allot of killer work ! I have a thing for air cooled VWs and the truck on it's own is a work of art.....but put the two together? Forget about it ! 🍻
The next time you work on a Pickup style project could you do a wood bed?! Balsa wood is great for these projects and takes stain very well. Would take your customs to another level.
Btw I have one request. Would be great see a Red line done in your style with some custom wheels and candy paint

This build was exactly your style, and it played onto your strengths. That being said, this was an amazing customization! You can't even tell where the cuts & putty were!
Mid 80's I had a 65 Omni Bus..... Funnest fucking thing to drive I have ever owned. If I wasn't so young and stoopid I would still have tha bus and be somewhere on a different continent. It was that durable and cool. Kodos my friend! Love this stuff!

I love that original VW custom. I think you did a real good version of it. I will say when I saw it in person it looks like the trailer part was added on to for like a window section. But still great job.

Looks way cool. Great job as always and cool idea. Seen a couple of split screen buses with a caravan/box camper type with an aluminium finish in full scale. A company called Cool-Flo have one and could be a fun build. The sleeping area over the cab.

A glorious conversion! Paint is perfect, concept was cleanly executed and the details were spot on! I’m gonna suggest a Zamboni challenge amongst you great diecasters! Invented in California and embraced as a mascot here above the 49th! Also perfect for start of hockey season and Christmas . . . all the little timbits will want one!

I love the flange idea. I do a ton of stretching and shortening on castings and having a flat edge on each panel can be undurable at times. This will help a ton!

Regular car bondo is easy to work with, I'm not sure how it would be on scaled down models but it might be worth a try. Good looking project thanks for sharing the vid
