1975 Triumph TR6 In the Shop - Intro and Inspection / Walkaround - Vortex Garage

Today we share a video featuring a 1975 Triumph TR6. This came into the shop to have a few things worked on. As part of that, we did a full inspection, and found a few other issues that needed to be addressed. This video is a walkaround and mechanical overview - we did a deeper and more thorough inspection off camera. From this we will have a few more videos coming, including ignition system testing and a final overview of all the work done to this car.

Did you ever drive in a real TR6 PI.
I owned both ,US speccs and now I own a TR6PI so much fun to drive.
The US TR6 was later converted with 3 webers but no match for the PI.

Adding triple webers is a common aftermarket swap, however many changes are required to get the engine to fully utilize them.

It's rare to see a TR6 in such a pristine condition as this one. What a beautiful car.
At 13:24 I noticed the hose for the crank case ventilation looks like garden hose or air hose, they are usually not oil resistant. This might be a think to look out for, it might become hard and brittle.

It's an odd braided transparent hose. Not quite garden hose but not normal emissions hose. It's still pliable so kept for now but may upgrade next time around. Good eye on that!

@@VortexGarage I had some bad experiences with hoses. One time a hose, which was supposedly fuel resistant, turned hard as a rock within one week and fell off the carburetor 😅

@@crasbee That's a bad on indeed! :D Oh and Ethanol blends have been doing some crazy things to certain hose blends too!
