Agreed! “Eating Well” should include enjoying food and socializing. If you are being mindful of what you are eating and generally consistent, there should be room for enjoyment. I know personally, obsessing about calories or feeling guilty is a sign how I’m eating is negatively impacting my mental health.

It sounds like you're naturally favouring an intermittent fasting style of eating. Which can be beneficial in terms of weight loss and gut function. It may be something to look into. It doesn't need to be anything crazy. Eating later in the day and stopping earlier in the evening may suit you. I do it 5 out of the 7 days and really enjoy it. Love your videos girl ❤

The Mountain is You is hands down my favorite self help/ motivational book. I feel like a lot of them aren’t actually very helpful, but that book gave me one of the biggest breakthroughs of my entire life. For the past 4 years or so, I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression that led to many unhealthy habits that felt impossible to break. On a whim I picked up The Mountain Is You and ever since then I’ve been allowing myself much more grace while also giving myself room to grow in my own time. 10/10 recommend:)

Great Jess well done you ,I can relate to so much you say,yo yo dieting has controlled me for years,no more.I eat what I want ,but find cutting my portions really helps.probably taken me 44years walking helps hugely and if I fancy chocolate or crisps I just have a few squares ....so a normal 90gran bar will last 3days,I share a small bag of crisps with my hubby 😀 looking. Forward to seeing Billys cat run ,he is such a beautiful boy jess!😻
Hi Jess, I've followed you for a while and love your videos ! This week I've thought back to your challenge and decided to give it a go. I do classes and some runs, but wondered how you decide 45 mins in the gym? Do you follow a routine or see how feel on the day? Going to keep watching these back to inspire me ! You did so good x
Ah thank you! And the 45 minutes is how long the classes at my gym last so thought it would be easier to do that as I wouldn’t then have to do another 15 minutes doing something else. Usually now if I can’t get to a class I’ll do weight training alternating between upper and lower body and then do a core workout x

I get your approach with not wanting to restrict Jess but depending on your goals, I'd highly suggest tracking calories accurately. You can still live life whilst making healthier choices so you're still reaching your goals. It's so easy to fall off the wagon more than we intended if we don't track things properly!
Thing is when you start tracking calories, it goes too far sometimes and you stop living your life, it can become unhealthy - or atleast that’s what happens to me, so I don’t track them anymore ❤
@@babypink56 True! It just depends on the person I guess!
Counting calories is something she can still add later, if need be. The fact that she's going to the gym regularly and focusing on healthier meals is the first step. You know what they say, you can't change more than one habit at the time. It will become overwhelming and you'll just won't change any of them.
Maybe in the future! At the moment I’m achieving results I want from eating intuitively so I’ll keep at that for now ☺️

Can I ask how you log the upper body workouts on the Apple Watch? I can’t seem to find any controls. .
I log them as traditional strength training if I’m using weights, or if it’s things like push ups I use functional strength training

Today is day 14 for me. I am not going to lie, I am exhausted but I am not sure if it is because I was super busy at work this past week and worked a lot of over time or the 45 mins of exercise a day? I am afraid to take a rest day because if I do I am worry I will just keep taking rest days 🤦🏼♀️ otherwise I am loving 75 soft!
Probably a combination of both! I went a bit too hard on my first week and was exhausted, but I did so much cardio!! Maybe try a couple of days just doing a 45 minute walk instead? then it's not a rest day but a less intense workout! Also I know what you mean about not wanting to take a rest day, but you definitely need it!!
