There is a HUGE reason to be excited about the Acolyte. And it isn’t just because we get to see more Jedi as we did in the prequel era. It’s much deeper than that…potentially.

There's a difference between being just being unreasonably elitist, and setting standards for access to certain kinds of power. the jedi were well within their rights to set some basic standards for their order. And to do what they could to protect themselves, as they tried to minimize the destruction caused by others whom were abusing the force for no other reason but selfish personal gain. And not just any personal gain, but gain at the cost of everyone else. Hell the Sith as a mattter of advancement, killed the people they had the closest bonds with, just to get deeper into the dark side of the force. That's far worse , and far more of an abuse of the force, than turning away someone who's not ready, or obviously not strong enough in the force to rely on it, for the main means of their own survival and knowledge. I hear the same reasoning for a lot of bad changes in our own country the last few years. Sometimes.. Standards exist for good reasons.

Little late to the party but I'm so f'ing excited for this show, I love the High Republic so actually seeing it in live action on screen has got me excited, plus what we know sounds very interesting.
This has a lot of potential and who knows, hopefully, maybe it'll be another Andor in the fact its a show not many were excited for that turned out great

In the Last Jedi Luke was saying similar things about the Jedi. Realizing they were arrogant and “elitist”. He started to believe the force should be for everyone and not just the Jedi. He wanted the Jedi to end. Then he changed his mind and said he won’t be the last Jedi. Some hints of that theme in this show. If these are Sith in this show. They have to explain a few things as to why the prequels Jedi council said they have been extinct for a millennia.
Think maybe the Jedi council of the prequels had a misinformation campaign going on? If the records were erased then Yoda would be the only one to remember the events. Other than the Jedi Wookie…if he survives.
@@StarWarsFanatic Yeah, and also I have a bad feeling that it maybe was Yoda that covered all this Sith stuff up. That would make his failure to stop Palpatine even more tragic. And when he was talking about older Jedi being arrogant he was actually referring to himself.

Oooooooooooo, I hope you're right about the Acolyte exploring the Force sensitives that don't join the Jedi. I know the Baron Do Sages formed a close alliance with the Jedi and then there was that lizard people, the one who's queen Jar Jar hooked up with. And the Nightsisters and the Knights of Ren, but those are only four non-Jedi Force sensitive sects that I know of (in Canon, Djinn Altis' Jedi is from the EU). So I'm really excited for that angle.

Gerald, I love your channel, and I have enjoyed MOST of what SW has put on the small screen (except Resistance and Obi-Wan). But, after what Weinstein jr and others involved have said about it, I lost interest a long time ago. 😢
I see it tearing down more of GL's story to prop up their own version. Turning Yoda into an incompetent and a failure. Portraying the Order (selfless) as the bad, while making you feel for the Sith (selfish) as justified. Hopefully I'm wrong, but, I fear I may be close to the truth.
First, thank you! I do like the idea of seeing other perspectives of the Jedi Order. I know the Sith are bad, and the Jedi are good. But I like hearing the motives behind the evil. Not many people have been evil just to be evil.

I'm definitely cautiously optimistic for this show. Not gonna join the hate train that's going on already lol. Trinity as a Jedi looks so badass.

It's not hate. It's a case that so many fans are sick & tired of the below par shows that have been put out by Disney Lucasfilm. The only decent live action show that's been great, is Andor.
This hate train is pissing me the F off. I shared my excitement for the trailer and of course"Star Wars is dead" "You're a shil" bla bla bla I'm so sick of the negativity surrounding the franchise.
You get so excited while watching a trailer or a new show, then that excitement turns to dread after you realise you want to share your excitement online

@@Kasey_Barkle yes, Ralph Skywalker. He lived on a backwater planet nobody has ever heard of. And he would have gotten away with it too of it weren't for those meddling kids.

I assume it's about a disgruntled Jedi who got cast out and is now angry that only the Jedi decide who gets to use the force. Jedi need to be more inclusive. Furthermore I see plenty of girl bosses and caucasian Jedi who are a little slow in the brain department. Mildly optimistic.
The Sith are fighting against Jedi privilege who created a Jediarchal! I smell an upcoming Disney+ lesson… if it arrives we will be able to hear the eyes roll!
I really hope they don't overuse the volume in this show. It just looks so, cheap
They are not using it at all … maybe in Coruscant scenes like Andor, but they’ve said they aren’t using it at all

It looks cool, but I'm just waiting for another flop. And I'm worried it will be woke and have a preachy message. Not because of anything I've seen in the trailer, but because of who is behind it all. Because of who is making it. I mean, I know somebody is gonna say, "But you didn't see anything woke in the trailer! So it's fine and you're just being over dramatic!" And to that I say, look at the Obi Wan Kenobi show. The trailer was fine, good even, but the show was probably one of the lowest points of star wars. But I mean for this show, the sets look cool, the aliens fine. The last 10 seconds of the trailer was exciting. I'm just trying to be fair, I don't hate everything Disney makes, I loved Andor and rogue one so
