So it must say a lot about how bad Keenan and Messier were that we still can't forgive them.
I know that the Canucks have gotten a lot of hate over the years, but it was beautiful to remember some of our greatest moments with these amazing players. #22 and 33 will always be appreciated and remembered in this city.

EDM has a couple games in hand and only needs to go .500 on maybe 9 games if McD can get healthy by then.

Kadri's was nowhere near as bad, Chara's could have ruptured his trachea it was that bad.

Yea but he was the scapegoat at the time and it was kinda inevitable because he was doing what was right with the Schneider trade which turned out to be horvat but the fans wanted them to keep pushing for the playoffs. Plus he traded Luongo for an arguable vezina candidate in markstrom now, and Jared McCann which ultimately lead to tanner Pearson.
In hindsight he was great but at the time they couldn’t keep him. Plus benning was a great hire because of his drafting. They’ll can benning in 1-2 years for a gm that can manage contracts better and make good trades
@@Bline-ip6et People were roasting Gillis for the Schinder trade which is funny. An over priced injury prone minor league goalie for the captain of the team. I told a lot of people that the Luongo trade could be a steal because Markstrom had a lot of great potential to possible be another Lundquist. Those same fans that scoffed are most like the biggest Markstrom supporters now. A lot of canuck fans are just so short sighted and really have no clue. Gillis always tried to put the canucks in the best position possible just something's didn't always work out that were outside of his control. Injures to Booth,Kesler, Hamhuis in the finals, league punishing him for the Luongo contract which was legal at the time, and Zack Kassian's drug and alcohol issues off the ice.

But honestly There’s no way canucks ownership could’ve survived the heat from the fans if they kept Gillis tho, so many fair weather canucks fans like that are the worst because they’re so impulsive and uneducated and pressure ownership into making these bad choices because the owners (aquilinis) just want money so they will always listen to the fans if they protest. Benning has saved the canucks in a way with his drafting because of the canucks didn’t have him, they could still be in the basement of the league

Messier was a canuck killer in '94 with New York....almost took lindens head off and changed the series to win that last game 7... Moose did more damage to that franchise than he helped
I assumed they were dead when i first saw the ceremony on tv. I mean they had good careers but not great by any means.
