That 2011 team was special. Even though the Canucks couldn't win it all, you can't take away all those special moments. That team was, and will always be, one of the most talented and exciting teams to ever be iced in the NHL. Congrats to the Sedins and Luongo on such a successful career!

@@ThisWholeWorld100 I mean just because both made the finals, doesn’t mean it’s a good comparison. The 2006 Oilers were nowhere near the level of talent and skill in the regular season as the 2011 Canucks. The Canucks were a team that dominated almost every statistical category from GF, PP, standings, hardware…except the Cup.

Born and raised in Vancouver BC. 26 years of age, and I'm proud to have witnessed one of the greatest eras in vancouver hockey history. First we win gold in the 2010 winter Olympics. Then we almost win all the glory with our famous run at lord Stanley's cup. It was so fun to watch.. you just had to be there!

People forget that Vancouver tortured Lou. I have no clue why people here were so harsh on him all the time. That coupled with his wife not wanting to live here, and then him not getting started for the Winter classic and of course he wanted to leave.

When we arrived at home I checked the result and was really sad they didn't take the last step. Would have deserved it so much.

Feel the same.. I know no Vancouver goalie will dare to wear #1.. mabye unless it’s way way in the future but still I don’t see why not. Could be cause Florida retired him but his career in Vancouver was miles ahead of his in Florida,
fans loved him way more in van as well and even though fans could be hard on him at times he was and still is absolutely loved, no goalie in the NHL has had the whole building chant his name when he made one of his many great saves for almost a decade! his career for the nucks definitely deserves a retired jersey, to be the first retired goalie of the organization as well since again no goalie will dare wear #1 here but a ring of honour where his name will always be largely seen is still nice!
Always loved the idea of the ring of honour, lots of teams have had special players that never or will never have their number retired but the nucks are the only one to have something close to a jersey retired by having a players name and face beautifully displayed for every fan to see in the building! When they where younger back in Sweden during practice they would always stay after practice and do what we call the idiot (idioten). You start somewhere behind the blue line, go to the middle line then back to the blue line and then to the other blue line and back and so on. Its something you hated doing during practice. I think stuff like that is what made them so good and in such shape, they where very strict when it came to training.
