Yup. And I'm glad it turned out that way. I'm an Oil fan but I lived a lot of my life in Vancouver and when the Sedins were drafted they didn't get a lot of good PR. I don't know what percent of people out there were calling them the twins and speaking of them in ill context like they were not alpha enough to life up to their draft pedigree, but it took a long time to hear that talk go away. Best brother duo to ever play hockey.

I don't care if people call me a bandwagoner, I love and play the game of hockey myself. As long as the games are good I'll watch any hockey game! There’s an interview they did where they were quizzed about their careers. They were asked to guess their combined penalty minutes. They both got it wrong obviously however they were exactly as far away as each other from the right one. I don’t remmener by how much but let’s say for example they had 1000 penalty minutes for simplicity. Daniel guessed 750 and henrik would have guessed 1250.

As an Oiler fan there was always a rivalry playing the Canucks because of how often we faced each other but you could never dislike the Sedins. Nothing but respect for their skill, their class and how they played the game.
As a fan of the game, doesn't matter what Jersey someone wears, you always appreciates classy players that played the game the right way.
Back in 2000 Canadian teams all seemed to have that great example for kids coming up no matter which team the cheered for. Sedins Ryan Smyth Jerome Iginla Mats Sundin Saku Koivu Daniel Alfredsson. You could hate playing another team, but there were always players on certain teams you could never hate. Well deserved by Daniel and Henrik and as a hockey fan a big thank you for making the game better and setting an example for the next generation.

was really happy to see the Sedin’s mention Edler. Always felt that he was overlooked. Especially, since he was not the headline Swede on the team. Even today the way the Canucks play and their record this season with and without Edler shows his significance. So personally that moment was pretty cool to me.
Seeing Hansen there was honestly amazing. Again, a very overlooked player who provided depth and at his peak, he would’ve excelled in the playoffs with that energy he played with every night.
I do wish we got to see Bertuzzi as I guess in reality he pushed the Sedin era into action. But more so they knew how dominant he was and some ‘Canucks in Cars’ episode, Daniel says that Bertuzzi was the most dominant player he shared teams with.

I have been a Canuck fan my whole life. My first game was Linden's rookie year and I cannot say anything bad about the Sedin's. They fought hard to get better and they did get better every year of their career. They displayed great class and sportsmanship. Them leading the Canucks back onto the ice to say farewell to Ryan Smyth is one of my all time favourite sporting moments. There are and have been many players that are capable of making a defender or two look really bad but the Sedin's together had the ability to make all 6 guys on the ice look really bad. It was amazing watching them wear down defenders throughout the game and finally get a couple big shifts and a little Sedinery in the third simply because the other team was gassed or they get on with the third pair on the ice and pin them in their own end.
Yes it is a shame that they didn't win a cup and to all of the haters out there that say us Vancouver fans are only celebrating the Sedins because they are the best we have ever had and that if we had a cup or two we wouldn't care about them. There are 29 other teams in the NHL that would have loved to have these guys throughout their career whether they had won cups or not. I guarantee you that if they had announced they were going to retire at the end of the season earlier than they did that there would have been a lot of farewell tributes across the league in many different buildings. Either organized by the opposing teams themselves or artificially created by the fans in the building. True hockey fans can appreciate their great skill, tenacity, and class and are willing to show respect to those that have earned it, and Daniel and Hank have more than earned it.

@John Johnson That was hardly an elbow. Daniel came up a little high but his elbow was tucked. It didn't warrant Keith's retaliation. The latter play wasn't even remotely a hockey play, as Keith made absolutely no attempt to play the puck and just went for Daniel's head.
Anyway, no player is perfect and the Sedins conceded this much about themselves when they retired. Everyone wants to win. The OP only meant that the Sedins set an example that most are inclined to follow.

Amazing ceremony part of me wishes they had wiggled holiday into there somehow. When I think of Sedins and especially 2011 the number of times I heard that song when they tore up the league.

The ceremony was beyond fabulous, and both Daniel and Henrik...are "class acts" human beings...and they are dearly loved and missed, but indeed not forgotten! The only thing missing was the Stanley Cup! Thank you SOOOOOOO very much Daniel and Henrik Sedin! Love your Canuck fans!👍🇨🇦 Bring on the new era, GO CANUCKS GO!!!

So proud to be a swede. When they came with Peter Forsberg, Mats Sundin, Nicklas Lidström, Henrik Zetterberg and some more to join the Swedish team in OL and WC you knew they were going to win. Love the Sedin brothers, of and on ice. Tack Daniel och Henrik.

I would like to hear more what Henrik and Daniel would say for and about each other. It would have been the most interesting to see inside their brotherly dynamics or even something of it. Now they presented themselves as a ONE although they are twin. That was their choice.
