I’m praying to earn the position as Ramp Agent at LAX🙏🏽🙏🏽 I went to my interview yesterday and brought the requirements they told me to bring🙏🏽 I hope I earn it🙏🏽
How was it ?
As a Ramp agent, if you have a pulse and can pass a background check they will hire you. Check what airlines in your area actually employ their ramp workers and don't contract the work out. Contract workers typically have a very low pay cap and offer little to no benefits.
Is Piedmont airlines considered contract workers?
@@TriniDB Its a regional airline. You're probably employed directly through them, but the benefits might vary cause they are flying for another carrier. If they give you 401k, medical, dental, free employee travel and Zed fare travel it's probably worth checking out.

@@TriniDB If your trying to work part time because you have other life responsibilities, just know most airline jobs aren't very flexible. It the flight is late, you're probably staying staying late, if they're short staffed you could be mandated to work extra shifts and everything is sonority based. So your going to be the low person on the totem pole for awhile. It's a deal breaker for a lot of people.

They should pay them alot more! Anyone working ground operations should be getting paid just as much as construction, electrician, etc. Because it's important to meet the dead line and it's dangerous work.

COVID vaccine mandates eliminate most of the competition. I got the ramp agent position easily.

Regarding question #2, I am going back to school and have a long distance relationship where I can only see my significant other on the weekend. I am applying for a part time position so would it be a deal breaker to say I do have limited availability?
Employers are having extreme difficulty finding workers, so I am sure you have more flexibility at this current time. That might change in a few months? Just explain your situation but try to be as reasonable and flexible as possible.

@@damaliscasimiro7716 my interview went well ill be starting the job in june, background check took about 1 month. Also dont a side job on the application unless it provides 1099 or W-2 cause they will ask for proof. background check is done by DHS and FBI. be as real as you can cause they will ask for proof.

I applied for ramp agent with Air Canada. I did the phone interview and then I turned the job down.
They offer: No weekends off, must be able to lift 75 lbs repeatedly under any weather condition (Rain, Snow, Sand storm just name it). Your schedule can change with 3 days notice as per operational requirements. All of that for 17$ an hour. Thank You but No

@@tube5794 If I was you I would stay away from that job. People get injured all the time and on top of that you'll be breathing planes exhaust smoke. For that kind of money I'd rather flip burgers. Btw the flight benefit they offer is total garbage. You are going to be on stand by and good luck getting a seat these days

I work the Ramp, and in the US because of some ancient Railway labor act Airlines could actually pay less than your city's minimum wage if it is higher than the federal minimum. In many cities Ramp and CSA workers make much less than the people pushing wheelchairs or the fast-food workers inside.

I was recently hired by Piedmont Airlines as a Ramp Agent out of DCA REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT just outside of Washington, DC. I have 2 questions what are the primary duties of a Ramp Agent and is the pay weekly or Biweekly? Hopefully I didn't ask dumb questions.
Depends on the company you work for, they should tell you how they get payed when you apply or when you get interviewed

I work for Delta, you can have a few tickets just be honest.
