- Hello everyone! In this video, I'm upgrading my personal pc to currently fastest GPU on market, the RTX 4090! Priced at nearly $2000 - it's the most expensive PC component I've ever bought, so was it worth it ? How much faster is it going to be over the 3080Ti ?

First off congrats on the purchase! $2,000 USD is a lot to drop on a GPU as you mention but as a hardware enthusiast it can be a lot of fun. I completely agree with you regarding performance at 4k and using DLSS. I too own an RTX 4090 and I hate the idea of needing to use up scaling just to get reasonable performance. I feel like for $2,000 USD the GPU should be able to run at native resolution with acceptable performance.
Hello mate! Thanks 😊 I'm really disappointed. At the same time, lowering a few of the settings will push averages past the refresh rate. Sadly, upscaling is the future and where we are heading...
It all depends on the games you play and the settings. You can play at native 4k medium or high settings and turn off raytracing if you are not getting the frames you want with those games and you should get 100+ fps on most games. Also did you configure the 7950x3d because you need to do some stuff to unlock its full potential.
Thanks it was interesting vid, even 4090 struggles with current most demanding games, i often hear that its only suitable with the fastest cpus and how it will keep up for a long time while in reality, if you use it with actually native 4k resolution it often struggles with 60fps so it entirely depends on games, res and settings.
As for your upscaling/demanding games "rant" it's honestly good time, because upscaling provides very decent trade-off, while previously you needed to either reduce native resolution or drop down settings significantly.
Also back in CRT days in order to run latest games at best settings you needed to change gpus like socks or if you wait long enough you wouldn't even able to launch them.
Only in directX11 era, or mid 2010's, we got massive stagnation and people got so used to it, i mean for how long GTX 980 Ti was relevant for 1440p gaming, im guessing ~7 years? Try playing 2007 games with a GPU from 2000's, i think you get the idea😅
Unoptimized and demanding games always existed and always will, i dont think there was a case where brand new gpu wouldnt struggle with any game at launch.
my 3090 ftw3 i got used for 730$ is still great for 4k60 or 2k240hz
You should have tried crysis remastered with raytracing xD
Hello mate, good shout 👍 I'll do
When Zen5 drops you could see another uplift with the 4090, as it's CPU limited often. Especially when using DLSS. Beast of a card.
i have an old cooler master haf 932 full tower and that thing is very heavy
You can get 4k60 and raytracing in Persona 3 Reload on PS5/Xbox X. And that is not using any upscaling. Games have become so demanding these days but you can still find optimised ones and I personally like a game like Persona 3 more than the shooters and action games on PC. That said I do miss the times when I could with 4-5000 SEK buy a high end GPU and not have to spend 20000 which is more than my monthly salary after tax on a high end GPU. If prices were lower PC gaming would be more fun again.
agree with the whole video games being to demanding and stuff
Thanks mate 👍 I'm really disappointed, but it seems that's the current state of gaming, I don't see it changing, ever
They need to bring back sli so we can run 4k max settings 144hz with 4090 sli 😂😂😂 without needing cheats like dlss and fake frames
Yes sir
Quad SLI RTX 4090's would be good as a space heater
So about 900-1000W of power used only by the GPUs ? yeah, no need for heating during this season :)
Hello mate 🙂 oh I wish it would come back! And looking at those games I've tested, not even joking, you could do with two of them
what full tower case is that? looks like a stryker or cosmos
Hello mate, it's C700P Black edition 😉
Starfields sad preformance tells me a lot of game devs dont care about optemizing for 4k. Its irritating because lower resolutions on a 4k monitor look bad. Heres hoping gamers will eventually upgrade to 4k as the standard because good 4k displays handle color so much better.
OMG, please don't replace modular power supplies with a different model without also replacing the cables!! different modular PSUs can use different wiring configurations, and using a modular PSU with the cables from a different model might destroy your system. You got lucky this time, but please please please at least add a disclaimer in the video next time
maaannn, POV gaming 2024: you buy a $2,000+ graphics card just to use upscaling...
That's one of the things I disagree with for modern gaming. I have a 4080 I use for 4k gaming. Most of the games I play. I can get 4k with 70-120 fps on native resolution with no DLSS. Some newer games. I target 1440p native if I can't get 4k at a usable framerate
Yup 😄 here we are, this is the future 🤔
And PC gamers had talked down on console gamers for Sony inventing similar ish checkerboard rendering tech for PS4 Pro and used in a few PS5 games.
@mitsuhh It worked well enough for the limited power available on the ps4 and ps4 pro.
What do you do as your day job?
Hello mate, I manage a small team/IT 😀
@@nexus_tech oh nice :)
How do u install a hd 7600 series drivers
Hello mate! Is that dedicated gpu or integrated one ? The guide should cover both
Good video. I bought a 4090. It's making money for me 24/7. I play games on a gtx 1060 6gb, I'll probably put a cheap gtx 1080 in that pc soon.
Mining isn't profitable in the UK with the current electricity prices.
@@LawrenceTimme I am not in the UK and I have cheap electricity.
There's still worthy money in mining? Somebody tell those guys still trying to dump thousands of dollars worth of scalped cards on the used market! lol
Most new games seem to be cheap copies of what already existed and hardly offer anything new to the table. So for me upgrading the gpu is just not needed.
Well, I didn't need to upgrade. It was more of a want, I hope game devs continue to optimise so that everyone can play their favourite game smoothly, not just those with high end gpus
Need some help pls
