Keep having Batman streams. If Andy Warhol can get 8 streams, then obviously Batman should get double that. 😎
Fairly certain the whole "Batman is his real face" originated in the Joker's mouth before some writers started to treat it as gospel.
It's rather trite and subtlety fetishistic; because Bruce Wayne the character is incongruous with Bruce Wayne the man does not mean Bruce Wayne the man does not exist.
Shock of shocks, Batman has to hide his power levels.
I always thought it was kinda a cringe idea. Bruce Wayne the public figure is a mask, but a mask for the real Bruce Wayne
I'm glad you ignored the post new-52 nonsense, i think its only been bad for batman. At least superman got a nice time with his son before that got ruined too.
Yeah but at least we finally got to see Batman's willy, after waiting all these years.
If Mr Dee isn't using a Crazy Quilt avatar on tomorrows UO I shall be terribly disappointed.
Return for Batman in TV and Film, the job's not done AA!
"Assume marvel dc ends 2010" as somone whos been following comics for about a decade. Yeah...Thats pretty much how you should go with it.
Killing Joke has no business being in continuity.
Oracle was lemonade, but that doesn't change that the story, like a lot of Moore's 80's prestige titles, poisoned comics' heart.
Not to mention, in the one bit of subtlety in a very brutal, graphic book; Batman kills the Joker at the end of the story.
So Batgirl is a cripple, the Joker did it, but the resolution is ignored.
@@markcollins2704 yes. To be fair, he wrote these deconstructions never intending them to displace the mainstream.
Kinda like whoever put out the first disco album: they had no way of knowing what they had unleashed.
@@juanme555 it is definately too clever by half. Though we also don't see the scene after a kiss and before getting dressed, but we all pretty much know what happened.
I prefer the Legend Chuck Dixon's proposed ending, showing Batman kicking the Joker to death.
Could just bloody the puddle in the last 2-3 panels as is to meet in the middle.
The scene really doesn't work otherwise. That aside, it was written as a one-off and squeezed into continuity after it was a hit.
@@KittSpiken Moore is a raving progressive with deeply held anti western sentiments, every story he ever wrote was meant to deconstruct and subvert western culture. He was correct about Stan Lee however, Stan 'Lee' Leibovitz was of his kind, a thief and a parasite who put his name to the work of others and enriched himself while true creative visionaries like Steve Ditko (created Spiderman) died in poverty. I lived in the same street as Alan Moore for the first 12 years of my life and knew him well, he's a friendly fellow and I think a genuinely good man, but his heart was poisoned by Marx.
I never understood the 'Moore/Watchmen ruined comics' thing until Scott Pilgrim came along and baby talk/tween tweeness was adopted industry wide shortly after.
AA, don't know if you would read this, but batman legend Neal Adams had passed. A sad day. He was one of the greatest comic book artists of all time, and he helped contribute (along with Danny O'Neil) to bring the caped crusader back to his roots.
What a king... RIP
Have been reading The Batman this summer. Great stuff but not on the same level of quality as Dredd.
Great fun topic, I enjoy these.
This edition should be called "Batman and Robots".
AA how does one read these stories? Did you buy these comics individually at the comic store and pieced them together? Or do you buy them in collected volumes? It seems like what you laid out here is Year One > The Killing Joke > Nightfall > Cataclysm > No Man's Land. Does that cover the gamut or are there still holes to fill?
Some are trade omnibus.
Use Getcomics.

I highly recommend this video on the origins of superheroes (which also include Batman). In the 3rd part there are interviews with some of the creators of the comics which explain how their stories were written under possession of a spirit.

PS: Recently I've rewatched Batman Begins and realized that the fear toxin is the coof (being in reality linked allegedly with a bat from China - league of shadows is in Tibet).
Joker crippled Bat Girl and Bat-man failed to get Zatana or someone overpowered like to to just magic her back to health. Hell, probably any number of higher tech guys could find way to heal her.
Deathstroke was always my fave
Didn’t know Vicky Vale was in the comics. What series does she find out Bruce is Batman?
According to this lore Batman is 40% um, 40% ahh, and 20% robot speak. Who knew?
Nightwing Volume 4: Love and Bullets cover is Helena in top form.
Orca THICCC tho.
Tim Drake isn't black but he is bi now IIRC
I keep telling him (AA), he won't have it
Batgirl can use her legs, now
Jim Ballent knows how to draw women.
Wasn’t there a condiment villain, or is that just a meme?
Condiment king.
@@TheLifesentence2278 OK I’m an hour in, hasn’t been mentioned.
Teen titans GO! Is far superior.
Tiny hands Robin is best Robin.
