- Eating like a local in Valencia (secret spot)
In Valencia there are plenty of restaurants to get Spanish food, but in todays video I will show you a secret spot only locals go to, a place where you can buy cooked foot for the house and Menu del Noche. This is exactly like Menu del Dia but for dinner time, set menu.
I hope you enjoy it!

The last place you ate seems like a great option for me since I eat meat. Thanks for sharing the hidden
corners of Valencia. Spain seems like an amazing country.
Just in time valencian eateries👍 doesn't mean around the clock. There is time to eat, to work, to love and to relax. That is what some people call quality of life.
Great video Antoanetta. We look to follow your recommendations. Stay safe and healthy! Safe travels!
Oh, Antoanetta, I wasn’t hungry until I watched this!
Haha 😂
Video muy interesante!...Dios quiera que pronto venga a Valencia !!...abrazos linda y sigue con tus videos !
yes please to a vid about vegetarian/vegan food in Valencia!! Headed over for a month and am gluten and dairy free. TYSM
Perfect will do
Your videos are SO good!!!
Thank you 😊
Another cool vid.. thanks for the secret location ;)
I would love a veggie video Antoanetta! I get by just fine in Spain, there is so much great produce and baked goods to enjoy but I agree that traditional restaurants can be a little limiting. Perhaps you know some places that are both traditional and veggie friendly?
Jajajajajaja. I think you should learn about spanish cuisine. It is based i fresh groceris, fish, any k8nd of meat, fruits, bread etc.
Every area has its own and different Cuisine.
But most of the people only knows paella, gazpacho, jamon and patatas bravas.
Try a galician octopusy, marmitako, fabes con almejas, seafood fton the north, migas de pastos, etc
Every year, between 5 and 10 spanisnh restaurants (10 to 20%) are in The world's 50 best restaurants.
@@jmgf6006she said that she would like a vegetarian video and you suggest a load of fish dishes, lol! Very Spanish....
@@jmgf6006most people are looking for everyday food and restaurants not 5 star ones unless for a special occasion, Spanish everyday restaurants are boring to be honest. No one can beat the Italians for food, now there's a nation that knows their food!
@@JobHuntingAbroad oh my god, boring? Jajajajajaja, you are a joker.
@jmgf6006 yes boring, every dish is either fried and yellow or brown in colour. Where are the vegetables, where is the green? Way too much meat...stews with very few vegetables just lentils/beans. Seafood is good but seafood is good in nearly every country that has a coast line. Its uninspiring and lacks imagination!
Antoanetta I was on the beachs of Valencian last week that Mediterranean sun did this Seattle boy good
Great video !
I enjoyed seeing where the locals eat in Valencia. I am planning my next trip to Valencia and want to go to a few of your favs, I like fish dishes mostly but Tapas are a must try for me. Vermut I must try again
Lots of fish. Bars on beaches like Luz de Luna have lovely fish and seafood. Not expensive
The food looks delicious. 😊
I would love to see the vegetarian friendly Valencian side!
Awesome I will make a video
Thanks Antoanetta for your videos! I am moving to Valencia in August and I am vegan. It would be very useful if you could do a video about vegan or at least vegan-friendly restaurants/cafes/takeaways in Valencia. I fear the options are limited. Thanks again!
I created this guide and I have a lot of info about Valencia. I hope it helps.

super idea to make such video
Hi there! I’m moving to Valencia this September on a student visa to be an English language assistant. I was wondering if you could make a video about gyms & fitness classes?
I want to go here, it looks good.😊
I went from watching this video before moving to Valencia, to seeing my apartment in the background of this video😭
My favorite complement with this bread with tomato are caned anchovies with some slices of cheese , or a good jamon Joselito 5J if is possible hehe.(but this bread need more olive oil.)
Hi need to try Las Cuevas its an amazing restaurant !
Please can you do a veggie version of where or what to eat. Thanks 👍
Beautiful movie 😍 new sub and bell ❤
I suggest you to eat at Colon Market downstairs with Manglano and other gourmet shops that serve you there too. And nearby in the best and cheaper "menu del dia" in that expensive area: C/Conde Salvatierra 34 EL TROVADOR, that is also good in sandwiches "bocadillos"
What was the name of that last place where your Valencian friends told you about ? Will be there in about a month & would love to try it. Gracias
Where was the first take away place you showed? Also, where was the restaurant with all the photos on the wall?
A video about healthy vegetarian and vegan options would be great. No shellfish, meat, poultry, or fried foods. Some of us can’t eat these foods for health reasons so it would be nice to know about alternatives. Thank you.
Have you tried El Albero? Its v good
Can I ask you what is the name of the last restaurant? I can just see Cafeteria, thanks a lot :-)
Can you list best authentic places to eat in Valencia please.
Much appreciated.
me and my bff are planning to move there when we get into college and live there
Hi nice video, I do eat meat and fish but I adore veggies and happily choose to go vegetarian most times I eat out - except in Spain! Alot of focus is on meat dishes and alot of them are served with a fried egg (yuck). My sister is vegetarian and really struggled to find a nice meal (onion rings in one restaurant-poor thing, lol).....good job there are alot of Italian restaurants 😀....Spanish food is very conservative and not very exciting IMO...
Vegan and gluten free places is what I’m always interested in. 😋
You definitely shouldn't be hungry while watching this video😜
Saludos a mi amigo Agustín " el Rubio" ,tiene 14 comercios de comidas para llevar.
What is are the chocolates like in Valencia? I can't imagine it would be like Germany or Belgium, but am I wrong?
That last place for five Euros was impressive. Yes, vegetarian-friendly alternatives please.
Hi! You make me to miss Valencia each time when I watch your videos;))
How about vegan food? Is Valencia a good market place for this? I dream a lot to open a little store with vegan and organic cakes, chocolate, etc. I have a little store with vegan and organic chocolate in Romania but unfortunately it's not working here, people don't care too much about the quality of what they eat. Thank you:)
Perhaps it is not the product that fails, but the location. It seems like an upmarket product for people who cares about the environment, sustainability, etc. Hence à place like London or high-earning potential would be most suited. In Spain l would bet for Madrid, Barcelona and perhaps Bilbao/Valencia.
A working-class neighbourhood is unlikely to welcome such product range as people struggle to survive when inflation is on the up.
@@caballoloco100 Hi! Thank you for your answer. Yes, London is a great place. I lived there and it was so easy for me as vegan to find everything I wanted. Unfortunately because of Brexit it's not easy now for me to go back there but I regret my decision from that time to leave London for another country. I am also thinking to Madrid or Barcelona but I am afraid that it would be too expensive for me to live there and also to run a business.
The video is titled “Eat like a local” but most locals eat lots of meats and you’re here asking the man “sin carne” repeatedly. That’s not a local my dear 😂😂😂😂
Antonetta, van a venir todos a España? Todos los norteamericanos ? 😒😟😶😮😊😀😁😂🏃🏃🏃💞👋👋👋
Giving mad Salma Hayek vibes
Take us to a good vegan restaurant on your next episode
Have you been to their China Town?
Veggie vegan video please! Thank you!
Where are you from???
That dinner looks good, but it’s not Spanish food!
No it’s not but locals love it
I was disappointed with food in Valencia, where I have spent 1,5 months. I expected to see a lot of cafes and restaurants with LOCAL food (international restaurants, of course, as well). Instead I have seen A LOT of Turkish Kebab + Doner (WTF - it is everywhere, even in Spain??), a lot of small cafes offering guess what (french fries, burgers and all kind of similar "healthy" american food). Both generate a horrible smell of over fried meet or fast food that has replaced wounderful mixed smell of perfume and cigars that was so noticeable 20 years ago in Spain. There was also Spanish music coming from all the shops and cafes as you was walking through the city. Nothing has left now. People do not smell nicely any more, no music everywhere, no atmosphere of romance that was there before. For 1.5 months I have seen just 1 man smoking cigar. For me Spain has changed a lot and not in a good way. Unfortunately.
Paella? There are many places offering it. Well, I personally did not like it, but at least it is very LOCAL, especially for the Valencia. Hamon and Fuet is everywhere too (very Spanish, thanks, God)! Otherwise I expected much more LOCAL food including street one, honestly.
But grocery stores and food markets are excellent in Valencia!
Finally, I have not been in 2 countries for about 20 years: Spain and Romania. At that time Romania was low low while the Spain was just WOW! I have to say that Romania has improved a lot during last 20 years, so I expected Spain to be just fantastic. And what a disappointment! It has become even worse. Streets are still dirty, food has become horrible, public transportation in Romania looks better than in Spain now, prices in Spain are much higher, taxes are killing people, railway trains are far from being modern (may be just some - the rest are old and ugly). Cars! OMG - can not even compare! Romania is full of fresh, nice looking, expensive cars of prestigious brands while in Spain you mostly see small, scratched, old and low branded cars. Level of English - can not even compare. Romanians speak English a lot, Spanish - almost nothing.
What has Spain been doing for 20 years? Running like a dog after it's tale? I can not understand.
P.S. By the way, I am not Romanian at all. I have just spent a certain time in both countries and had a chance to compare. Not for a favour of Spain, I have to say/
Good luck getting vegetarian let alone vegan food in a genuine Spanish restaurant or even in one serving more exotic meals. They cater principally to locals and most Spanish people rightly think you have an eating disorder if you don't eat fish or meat.
Leave that silly vegetarian/vegan stuff in LA 😂😂 Never again
You should go back to russia or near by russia and eat the bears and foxes they kill. Stay on your eastern europe beer side. Spain also gets itsvown wine snd wine from few other neighboring western eu countries. Also German beer is awesome and also availsble in spain. Yeah Checz beer is good too and thats all. Please feel free to have Russian beer or Polski beer .... Spain has good beer and so doee western Europe and is not radioactive 😂
