The word 'gopping' is definitely making its way into my vocabulary from now on! 😀

I love the sound of less muddy, so the frost can stay till Spring for me. My boot routine is exactly the same as yours, although I always bring them in and put then in the garage but 9 times out of 10 they are left till the next day as I am normally bushed after the long drive home. Nice walk out and it looked real busy by the canal and I think I would have been happy with the Boot Buddy too, not so the banging of the boots together and getting mud all over my down jacket minf 😁, cheers Alan

Another reason not to put your wet boots on the radiator or by the fire is that the heat will dry out the leather and make it stiff -- it can also melt the rubber soles. A great video about the importance of caring for the boots that care for your feet.

I'm a smash them together person once they dry. But this looks worth a go. Thanks for sharing Rachel.

I’m trying to keep this pair going for a while. My other boots, Salomon’s started falling apart after 18 months. They were expensive too. 😞 These Decathlon boots are much better and were cheaper.

Great video Rachel we too are like you as the last thing you want to do after a fabulous, exhausting (in a good way) hike is clean your boots so ours get left in a bag until the next hike! I will give them an occasional rinse but giving them a good clean I have to do in the bath and it becomes a huge job coz I then have to give the bath a good cleaning 😂 it’s a good devise but not sure how much water we would need for 4 boots plus nicks are big 😂 great walk although those gunshots were scary 😧 glad it wasn’t in your direction! Have a great week 👍

Thanks! Yes, I wasn't expecting to walk past a shoot! It was very close to the footpath too! Thanks for watching.

I have one, it’s brilliant for putting waterproofing stuff on my boots and cleaning them

I'm usually to worn out after a long walk to bother cleaning my boots up! But this looks like a good idea.

I'm terrible with boot care, often left in the boot till the next time 🙂

    Happy 2024 😁
I've never used a boot buddy. I use the head of a sweeping brush and a bucket.. brush the mud off, fill bucket with warm water and a couple drops of the cheapeat shampoo going. Dip brush, clean boots.
Stuff some rice in knee high tights and tie the top, stuff in the boots.
Put boots somewhere warmish, don't leave in shed or garage etc. stick them on a shoe rack in the living room or kitchen somewhere.
I then use dubbing on leather boots like river Boots or walking boots.
A bit of water proof spray could be used I suppose, but I don't.
I did know someone who sprayed hair spray around the welts to water proof where the shoe meets the sole.. seemed to work but I don't know, just lacquers your shoes I reckon. 😂

I've always washed my boots in the sink, couple of drops of washing up liquid and dish washing brush from aldi. For £16 I'd rather invest in grangers waterproof liquid for boots. As I said when we walked, your boots are getting wet inside because water is seeping down your socks
