@Technics Guy I have a question, I recently picked up a RS-B655 but I can't get any sound out of it nor through the headphones Jack or the rca line in/rec out. I try to play some cassettes and it plays them and I see the level meeters L R moving but still no sound, I checked cables as well, do you have suggestions of what might be the issue? Thank you in advance if you have any advise!
Very nice; the soundtrack is like a "blast from the past". I should still have it somewhere on tape, recorded from a Casey Kasem radio show. My RS-605 (from the 1988 model year) looks almost the same, has almost the same electronics, but the mech is not DD, and the sound is mediocre at best. The RS-M270 beats it in every department.
Have you ever heard of a Technics SU-T400 amplifier? Trying to find a schematic is difficult. I have one of these, manufactured in New Zealand under licence in 1981, so it might be rare or have a different moniker elsewhere.
Metal tapes are dolby c by themselves they have ultra low noise anyway Nice video - deck and music :-) But unfortunatelly the more we use them the more they ware out the heads :-(

Does the auto tape type selector only work with blank tapes as they have the cut outs on top?
I don't remember which deck I had from Technics, but it was 3 heads with HX-Pro... Also, was that bleed through at the end?
