Its walways a nice idea whe using a tape thats been sitting for years, to wind it and the rewind it, just to avoid unnecessary tensions in the spool.
Im still using my dad's 80s laser disc power amp and speakers for my PS4.

I have one of these and a 965....great decks but I can't believe they didn't include a cassette well light. Just a shiny sticker.

I have rs bx 747, great machine
I have the RSB-618 hooked up with the SUA-900 ... but ... have since bought the Yamaha AS701 , you need to upgrade as you really are missing out on at least 20 years of Amp technology, oh btw I'm using a pair of floor standing Mission 737's that have suddenly came to life since the change of Amp.

I was surprised that my Timer Play does not work on the 828...I suppose it is so full with electronics that it does not last very long...or is it a tank? I do not know what to think about its quality, I'm very sceptic compared to Akai GX-95 or the Kenwood KX-9010...enjoy my collection :-)
The Vintage Hifi ambassador hi have not heard of that fault before tbh I guess if you already have decks you know you need a tape in it for this to work. Also the timer only works if timer switch is on and the power button is on, unplug it at the mains and plug it back in wait a few seconds it should work

hi its a single capstan deck but still 3 head and still got the nice manual calibration system
however the bx series is best avoided unless you are good with a soldering iron, they have a weak recording amplifier which is only rectified by changing 4 resistors and followed by a re-calibration of the deck
Thank you for your answer. I own the bx707 for a couple of days now. It sounds alright, it has a lot of extras. Only thing that worries me is the fact that a motor is audible when the deck is on. Even when it's not playing. But, anyway, thanks again for your answer.
Harreld Dittenhoefer it's normal for a dd deck to run all the time. It's so when u press play it's ready. But only should be only slightly audible with your ear to the deck

the display has to be blue, perhaps it is and it's your camera, the filigrane dot matrix is not one of my favorite...Onkyo and Mitsubishi are green, JVC is orange with yellow, BASF Hifi green blue, Alpine is fantastic blue and Technics should be white blue like Kenwood but not such a pastell...yep we may call it pastell green. I do not remember what colour my 828 is...I think it is exactly the same.

Sinthujan Vinacithamby probably same as everyone else recommends 1990 to 1995 model. Single capstan for simplicity and reliability
Akai GX deck from the late 1970's and early 1980's. Reliable as a horse.
ka6es ran to 2001 i think would be my choice but fully serviced and aligned

This model of yours is very similar to my rs-bx707 the biggest difference is the dual capstan mine is single

I use RS BX727. It has remote control. I bought it new in 1993 and it is stil in perfect condition.

The models RS-BX727 / 828 the diferences to 707 is for the 727 remote control just only to 707 cause both 707 and 727 are single capstan
but for the 828 remote control and dual capstan to 707 the 808 has dual capstan and of course remote control
