This video cost £120 just by ripping those cases open. Tony is a hardcore baller !
Out there somewhere is somebody having a heart attack as Tony opens 3 MA-XG's.
I bet they just don't get the point of a hobby. Another Banger Tony!
The King is " Back " , Long Live The King
@@Cefesky1 78 records are worse for every single thing you just said. Cassettes can sounds similar to CDs if you record them with Dolby s
“Pleasure ya can’t measure.”
I can’t stop smiling!
What a joyful discovery this channel is.
Ripping open expensive tapes is so fun! Love it! You can't use them if they are sealed. Collectors that buy them just to stare at them make me laugh (at them). What a waste of great tapes if you don't use them. Welcome back Tony!
That's like saying people who collect Air Jordans without ever wearing them are stupid. Or people who collect coins that have never been circulated.
Hey, what's this? A Cassette Comeback comeback! Just what I needed! 😊😊😊
Those little tabs that you remove for recording, you're not actually supposed to remove them, you just turn them around and slot them back in. That way you can record new music without losing the tab. I had a few of these MA-X/MA-XG cassettes back in the day, when the Pet Shop Boys were at their peak basically...
I just got this accidentally in an eBay auction as a collection of used TDK Ds. Awesome.
Welcome back! 👍👍 👽
When we needed him the most, Tony surprises us with a new video. --all of us
Not the rarest (TDK was the most common brand) but certainly one of the most expensive cassettes in the world. You want a cassette that sounds as good as CD or vinyl (probably even better), then listen to one of these. The way you unwrap the MA-XG90's is great.
When I saw the pop up, I saw it was cassette comeback my jaw dropped.. but as always, don’t get the haters get to you, they are absolute idiots and probably don’t know what the are talking about! Great video as always Tony, keep it up 👍😊😀
Me as well . I jumped and turned on my big screen and turned on my Sony HiFi and subwoofer to celebrate.
RAD. I love that you OPEN and USE them. This is why they were made dammit.
Thanks. After a exhausting day of work I just needed this. Awesome and made me feel so good to watch your comeback.
So so happy to see you back.
Welcome back Welcome back Welcome back Welcome back Welcome back Welcome back
Please don't stop , Big thanks from Cairo Egypt
My late father was a serious audiophile, he had a 3 head deck and loved TDK tapes. I think at one point he had every version going , the Audua was a strange one. I personally liked the OD tapes but MA-R was truly superb if properly setup with bias and calibration and on Dolby C noise reduction. I wonder what others thought of Dolby noise reduction? I think certainly on a decent tape machine you could get some very good results. Nakamichi had a few decks that were serious but at a price. For me the feel of a tape is hard to forget. I still have my very first TDK tape from 1975 that my father gave me, I had it transferred on to CD a few years ago and it’s sometimes great to listen to it again.,I think the MA-R was a classic design and will always be an icon of the era.
I never liked nor used Dolby much but recall one trick to sharpen up the sound was to record in Dolby then playback with the dolby off....
Welcome back Tony.
Just had a peek at ebay and what they are asking for these tapes - I nearly fell over!
Browse estate sales, where sellers don't have the time to know what everything's really worth. Everyone else knows what they're worth, or at least does the necessary research to find out.
Thanks for sacrificing 3 virgins Tony!! I have always loved this tape, but damn, they were expensive back in the 80's!
Good to see you back!
Welcome back, man!!!
The man is back and I have quite a few of those tapes, it's one of my favorite!
Welcome back Tony, it's great to see another video.
hey there! welcome back!
Just fabulous Tony. Well done Sir! All the components from turntable to cartridge to high quality vinyl to a supreme cassette to a beautiful cassette deck reverred by many. It just does not get any better!
Checking the notifications, couldn´t believe my eyes! Thank you so much for an unexpected, great video. Bringing back awesome memories of a time, not long ago, where I regulary watched the cassette vidos.
*Cassette Comeback* surely deserves a prize for this comeback video!
Hi Tony very nice to have you back with this video. Thank you.😀😀😀😀
Oh man I missed these! Great to see you again!
I opened up a few That’s MRX-Pro’s last weekend, and immediately thought about the channel. So glad you’re back!
I have missed these videos. Good 2 hear from U again.
"Let's do this again!" ...I almost fell off my chair laughing....what a great video! Thanks for posting this, I really missed your videos!
Glad you're doing vids again. Hope to see more. Thx for all you do. Cheers.
My man is back!
Thanks for the upload, Tony!!!!!!!!
I'm glad you're back ! Nice video !
There was nothing better than watching the media at work listening to your favourite song. CDs began that way then it was insert and hide, then digital music well, no moving parts no pleasure at all.
TDK was the go-to quality cassette tape...
When I used to have a Sony Walkman in the late 80s/early 90s, I used to buy TDK tapes to record music on. 🙂
Tony puts out a cassette video and my life's good again. Thanks mate!🖖
I was hoping for you to comeback. Glad you did ❤️
YOU'RE ALIVE!!! THIS IS GLORIOUS!!! MISSED YOU BRO!
Thanks Tony! Happy to see this today!
Great video. I love your passion for cassettes. I have a similar passion for analogue film cameras. I grew up with cassettes and now that you have taught me how to record properly, i can hopefully make some good copies.
I've missed this, another great video. 👍
You're back! Awesome!
Great to have you back Tony. Have been accumulating lots of sealed tapes recently, and wondered if you would come back on again. Great stuff. ( By the way, i have just got a Nokia VHS which had separate switching to record audio only- happy days!).
Welcome back Tony. Great to watch you.
There he is! Glad to hear your voice again. And to get new cassette content of course
Welcome back Tony! Those MA-XG's OMG! YES!!
Good to see you again.
Nice to see you're back! :)
When we thought that he was gone, THE MAN IS BACK !!!!! That MA-XG is just beautiful. Probably the most beautiful cassette I've seen so far.
As you said in the metal video you were keeping and using them,so that means you can whatever you choose with them lol.. oh well that's good for you and I am still going to use the sealed tapes I have whether they are collectables or not they are mine..
Good to have you back! Recently picked up a Nak 680ZX and recorded McCartney III on a previously unopened NOS XL IIS. A lot of FUN!
The King is back!!
Tony, great to finally see another video by you!!! :)
A real treat to see you again Tony. You are some kind of madman, I could not stop laughing.
Thoroughly enjoyed that. Thanks Tony
This was just one step from absolute perfection - DIGalog recording on MA-XG cassette! The perfection nobody had ever heard. So this is as perfect as one can get. Great job!
Brilliant to see a great video
Those tapes are just amazing mechanisms. Thanks for the video.
I bought four of these back in the day, probably spent two full day Saturdays wages from Dixons to pay for them. Worshipped them more than I ever thought I would cherish what was 'only' a cassette tape. Still have them but they were re-recorded multiple times in the first few years. The tabs to prevent rerecording are switchable. Great channel mate keep it going 👍
You're back! I love you Tony!
Nice video Tony! Lovely to view a good and catchy one in the old Cassette Comeback-style! :)
Nice to see you pop back in for a visit, Tony. You had me worried in the first couple minutes but turned it around - that is a truly special one off project. In this interregnum I've been doing custom one-off bootlegs myself and having a blast. Nothing nearly as badass as that Metal Collection (think TDK Ds and a $60 printer) but a blast nonetheless and made possible by what I've learned from your channel since last year. Thanks and take care of yourself!!
Almost broke my finger pressing the like button real hard! Hi Tony, i really missed your videos man.
Good to have another video Tony. That's a beautiful one off item too. I was also impressed by the sound quality and production of your record. All the best with everything!
I have the Ortofon Blue on my turntable, which is a Technics from the 1970s. When the time comes, I recommend it, but for now enjoy what you have. Happy spinning and taping!
I own an AD-S, got it in a lot with maxell URs and TDK Ds from the same time period, it's a very good preformer
Tony is back and I like that! 👍🏼
Shocked at first, all made sense at the end of the video. Some people didn't reach the end of the video. :) Welcome back!
I overpaid for a pack of MA-XG’s recently and as much as it hurt me to open one to get a look at it, it’s cathartic. It’s a totally contrivance of the mind that these old tapes shouldn’t be opened, but I couldn’t over come the idea at first. When I opened it, I felt kind of ill about it, but I’m happy I did. I can say I laid my hands on one and I’m going use it to record Dark Side Of The Moon and perhaps some Alan Parsons Project.
Edit: I didn’t quite get across that as much as these things are worth, it’s that taboo of “doing something I shouldn’t do” that is a relief really. I only have myself to beat up about it and I have better things to waste that effort on.
Nothing worthwhile is ever easy or cheap. Enjoy it. You can rerecord it as many times as you like after all...
Oh yay!!!!!! My day just got 1000% better!
What a nutter! Times three! 😀 You're awesome! Thanks so much for the fun video.
Just when I thought Tony was having a nervous breakdown at the beginning of this video... All became clear at the end :)
Whew! I was literally thinking that myself, I'm 2 minutes into the video and had to check the comments to see what's going on. Tony! If you ever need help, just ask! You're special, can't afford you going nuts! Your videos are too good entertainment.
Dear Tony,
Lots of love from India. We missed you so much. Welcome Back.......
Your strip of TDK MX-G was treat to sore eyes and if i may say Or.as.ic.
I have 10 in my collection now,,,, i intent to to do the same soon enough.....
Long Live Cassette Comeback....
:-)
Nice to have you back even if it's for just a video or two about the cassette tapes here or there, Tony!!
You sure we're having a lot of fun! And so was I
You see.... I knew there was a reason I didn't unsubscribe to your Cassette Comeback Channel!
Yes Toni is back!! Why is youtube giving me this great news 6 days too late? 😜 Good to see you again Toni, awesome video!
This is so awesome Tony!
Great Comeback Tony! Great Technics Deck! Good choice! Awesome video.
Yeah!! Tony's back!!! Enjoyed the video and great to see you back!!
Definitely no difference in sound from both media. Definitely one of the best cassette tapes around.
And just when I was thinking about you... hi again Tony, enjoyed the video.
This was needed.
Been missing you Tony. Glad you have a tape version of this. I hope you do a grand sale. Congratulations for Red Manor Records. Cheers Tony! Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷
He is back! Nice 👍
Lmao that intro was awesome. Welcome back
Cassette Comeback Comeback! Thanks Tony, You made my day!
P.S. Just saving up for the new releases too...
@Cassette Comeback
Tony is back. Like seeing an old friend again.
Thanks for the new video!
Welcome Back !!!
Tony you had me cracking up with laughter with all that fast wrapper rip off of the sealed tapes, that was fantastic. 😃😄🤪👍😝
Back with a vengeance! That was therapeutic seeing them unwrapped. Sound quality on tape is amazing and a bit more full / richer in the lower mids than the source. Lovely tune too.
the quality of this cassette is amazing, and i have good ears
That was an enjoyable video, my friend. HiFi and analog heaven.
Welcome back Tony great video made my day.... can't wait to find a metal tape.... but there the dilemma starts.... what to record
Loved those tdk tapes, used to go to Germany to buy them, half the price of buying them in the Netherlands. Great sounding tapes
You are back, what a wonderful surprise. Thank you very much. I hope you will make more videos. Also, that is crazy, opening those expensive cassettes and using them. But they are meant to be used and enjoyed, not just kept wrapped and sitting, not bringing joy to anyone.
The moment you unwrapped the 2nd one I knew you were going to use them for a RMR or NOS project 😁
Great to see you back Tony. And with a post-finale episode worthy of that name... This must be one of the most epic cassette projects you've ever done. Although the private investigator episodes of that huge TDK true mechanism box is probably a close second. And what beautiful and great sounding cassettes they are. True pieces of art, either wrapped or used. But when used, man, they add an experience and feeling of specialty to the music that digital, and probably even vinyl, will never be able to give. The fact that I, the ultimate cheap skate when it comes to audio (I bought a 60 piece box of those end of the line URs to record on, for crying out loud), even *contemplated* whether or not I'd want that set for £300, speaks volumes about how special that set is. Thank you for showing the process. Even though just one of us has the physical reminder, all of us will have the memory of witnessing this, which is a good 2nd best thing. Good luck with all your RMR endeavours, looks like you're having a blast 👍
There's an "Alert me if this comes back in stock" button on the item in the website. 10 people have registered 😁 Thanks for the kind words.
Just what I needed in 2021: a Cassette Comeback comeback.
You got beef with that? 😂
