They're not calling him a just a fan, they assume we know who he is, they're just saying that that's his relationship to them. As in 'famous actor Daniel Radcliffe is also a fan of Stephen and Hugh.'
Stephen: cries because he's so happy he picked his career path because it meant he met Hugh Hugh: wishes he had picked a different career and moved to Hong Kong
I love Hugh's smile when he sees Stephen and the little "yeah" he gives. He then practically jumps out of the car before it has completely stopped moving. lol Stephen's bear hug is so sweet, and when he says welcome to Hugh he sounds so emotional. He almost engulfs Hugh with the hug. I love their friendship.
Me too. It's like when Jeeves comes back to Wooster and he asks Jeeves to pack his case, we are travelling! Inseparable like twins. Just love those two humans in everything. If you haven't seen Hugh in Catch 22 yet, do! As for Stephen, another Xmas is upon us and I'm reaching into my library for his books, to read under the canopy of a tree and or at the beach. People shall think I'm mad laughing out loud, but the words jump off the page and I smile like Blackadder is on the TV. Merry Xmas everyone🎄
My old boss was like an American version of Fry, even with the english accent, i'm always reminded of him. We actually became friends and stayed in touch after I left that job. Sadly he died way too young of cancer. :-( So whenever I see Fry i always smile but am sad at the same time. ugh
Hugh Laurie really seems to go through life quite casually. He did amazing things, without really caring for them, and when he was at university, he didn't really care for the path he took there, and still did amazing things, and now is a star and comedy legend, actor, aside from an amazing musician...
BFKC Yes, I miss him so! And watching him as a musician, as House, and pray he continues to make films, even a series, possibly just a three part comedy show with his friend... Mr. Laurie is incredible, and I thank him for the laughter- he helped my cousin get through Multiple Myeloma, end stage, UC Irvine & myself, Thyroid Cancer at Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale AZ. Brian & I watched “House” while on the phone as patients. We were diagnosed same day, and pretty sick. But with House? Brian had no pain, nor did I - we laughed to tears, binging House, saving musical sound tracks to get us thru unending treatments... Brian left us in 2011, an I am still climbing an unending hill, but I will ALWAYS love Hugh Laurie, and the joy he brought us all those years ago, over a phone❤️, and today still watching!!! Fine actor, and gifted comedian. Would be quite an interesting person to know, listen to...😎👍🏼🇺🇸🇬🇧
While Stephen is known for saying "Baaah!" and other various noises, he's often said that it was a greeting between him and Hugh. When Hugh arrives at 7:50 -ish, he does it! It's funny to finally see Hugh's version of it.
I love this. I am so happy that Stephen and Hugh are held in such high regard in England. They are trully brilliant. I am also happy that Daniel Radcliffe and Ben Miller love them too.
He doesn't even have to be nice. Fry is a great actor, even though he doesn't do much of it anymore. He appeared on the UK comedy 'Yonderland' as a villain and he did it very well.
Stephen Fry should have played the patient who can behave notoriously obnoxious with his intellect and be overzealous of his knowledge. While Dr House is very intelligent but has no time for this. He is going to tackle Fry patient his arrogance to succeed finding a solution. They have played those forces together in many of their comedy sketches and shows. Would be great to see it in House style!
I have to say, I find it really fantastic when people mix manners with curses. It kind of gives the person the air of a gentleman deeply agravated. My hat is off to you, Mr K9Negative.
Since birth, he was quoted once as saying "My first words, as I was being born... I looked up at my mother and said, 'that's the last time I'm going up one of those.'"
If he says that is because it is on his mind. Otherwise, he wouldn't say it. But I don't blame him. Laurie is also atractive to the whole world, straights and also homosexuals. He's hot and this is the finale of the discussion xD
DayDreamBeliever1961 It surprises me a little to think that you didn't know, or hadn't guessed. I mean, there is direct lineage from Python to F&L. So many comedians include Python on their lists of influence and inspiration.
As someone who admires Stephen greatly, it bothers me that he hasn't become nearly as huge in the U.S. as Hugh has. Stephen deserves to star as a brilliant character in a show in America.
They could have done such a funny thing on this, and act like fry and Laurie were in different cars on the way to the meeting and interview them on the separate back seats then just pan out
I watched loads of his earlier work so that's the voice I think of as his voice, but I love that House has a totally different voice. It means I can pretend in some back part of my brain that they are two different people. Usually with actors it's unsettling when you see them out of character because it reminds you it's not real.
If any Americans are here because they love Hugh from House, this is how we in the UK knew him before house, he was already a legend, the rest if the world just didn't know it yet. :D
this is the third time i watched this... was too young to appreciate their humor in the 80's... now I do... hilarious and both nice guys in "real life". And Stephen is a genius.
They fit in a long line of memorable English duo's who were "Brothers from different mothers". Morecambe And Wise, Rick And Ade, Reeves and Mortimer, Mel and Griff, Ant And Dec, French and Saunders (albeit being Sisters from different misters) All have connection with each other that cannot be explained using words alone. So in tune with the with each other, not knowing where one ends and the other begins. To quote a famous catch phrase of the most popular duo in this lineup; couples where "You can't see the join"
Thank you for uploading this!! As an American, I've been in love w/House since it aired...and grew to laugh the humor of Stephen and Hugh. Glad to see them back, as well as their reunited friendship.
Oh boy!! Just discovered this!! Made a new playlist - simply adore both of them! Watched House with regularity when it was on our "cable" here in SA. Discovered QI two weeks ago, watched it daily!! Stephen is magnificent in that series!! Am quite sure that I will enjoy this one just as much!! Dear heaven - just love British humour!!! Always with straight faces - until they cave in to the humour of course!!!
Delightful. I never missed an episode of their US series. I ran home every Sunday night to watch it fromm the beginning. I went to bed laughing! God bless you both. Gina Dodds (New York)
These two have been my favorites for years. I remember them first in Blackadder. I loved Rowan Atkinson and all of the other people that went on to become stars. Hilarious show as are all of the shows since then.
Imagine they did a new comedy show. "A Bit More of Fry and Laurie".
That would be great.
How about A Look at Fry and Laurie’s Bits?
Would is too PC now to let that happen unfortunately
@@prich0382 what do you mean? They're beloved international treasures. The world is not as sensitive as you think it is

It was either that or harry potter

The looks in their eyes when Hugh's car arrived. True best friends who do love each other.
Totally I agreed!
Almost made me cry!
🥰
I adore the way Fry speaks. He opens his mouth and colour comes forth.

@King brian Boru thank you
Agreed. And colour comes forth, not color.
Going to start calling my friends "m'colleague"
Do you have a fedora to tip?
They worked on shows together and went to school together.
The best Bromance that ever happened.

lone wolf
Wow! Will have to ck it out👍🏼🍸
Thank you!
As a rower from cambridge who absolutely adores Hughs work, nothing makes me happier than him talking about his love for Cambridge and rowing
7:52. Laurie's reaction to seeing Fry is so wonderfully natural and instinctive. You can tell these guys have an amazing friendship.
"'My word, Jane', I used to say to my wife, 'the garden's looking very homosexual this morning!" Bwahahahahaha! I need to see more of them. :D
While Stephen is known for saying "Baaah!" and other various noises, he's often said that it was a greeting between him and Hugh. When Hugh arrives at 7:50 -ish, he does it! It's funny to finally see Hugh's version of it.
My favourite quick subtle gag was labelling Daniel Radcliffe as "Fan"
7:51 that, right there when they saw each other, the uncontrollable smile, that is true friendship.
Even the first ten seconds of this has put a big silly grin on my face.
Laughed out loud at 0:34 when Stephen Fry referred to Hugh Laurie as "M'colleague"!
7:55
I love this. I am so happy that Stephen and Hugh are held in such high regard in England. They are trully brilliant. I am also happy that Daniel Radcliffe and Ben Miller love them too.
I love Hugh's face when he seens Stephen as his is getting out the car at around 7:50
I remember watching this 12 years ago on my friends couch during a sleepover. I hope this never disappears
Sherlock and Mycroft...Laurie really is the Sherlock we never got to have.
Technically Laurie did get to be Sherlock
The comment above. Laurie did play Sherlock, just not in the business you'd expect.
I love that they still refer to each other as m'colleague.
Hugh Laurie's British accent is FANTASTIC!
I can't stop smiling while watching this. Legends.
And why was Fry never a guest star on House?
he could have played the one patient who is notoriously nice
He doesn't even have to be nice. Fry is a great actor, even though he doesn't do much of it anymore. He appeared on the UK comedy 'Yonderland' as a villain and he did it very well.
He embarrassed himself in a recurring character on Bones, as an old ex-pop star. His air guitar playing exposed him as a non-musical person.
Stephen was actually auditioning for a role in Dr.House, but he's never gotten it.
I think he was auditioning for Chase or Wilson...
jeeves and wooster was sublime, the best thing on tv, both perfect for the roles.
Emma thompson. Just lounging around.
I'll never forget Hugh Laurie as Prince Ludwig, the Indestructible.
I have to say, I find it really fantastic when people mix manners with curses. It kind of gives the person the air of a gentleman deeply agravated. My hat is off to you, Mr K9Negative.
I love the genuine smiles when hugh arrives.
I'm from America but I freakin love both of these gentlemen.
Stephen Fry really is such a national treasure, such an inspiration!
Since birth, he was quoted once as saying "My first words, as I was being born... I looked up at my mother and said, 'that's the last time I'm going up one of those.'"
Absolutely no one.
Stephen Fry: "I was never attracted to him."
lol
Kris probably the first time I see the “no one:” format being used reasonably. Unlike most cases it fits just right
If he says that is because it is on his mind. Otherwise, he wouldn't say it. But I don't blame him. Laurie is also atractive to the whole world, straights and also homosexuals. He's hot and this is the finale of the discussion xD
In my philosophy there are two kinds of people....those who get Monty Python and those who don't....glad to find that Hugh is a fellow Pythonite.
DayDreamBeliever1961 It surprises me a little to think that you didn't know, or hadn't guessed. I mean, there is direct lineage from Python to F&L. So many comedians include Python on their lists of influence and inspiration.
Most british comedy writers were/are influenced by monty python
REALLY, DDB? I've never known anyone who didn't LOVE Monty Python - I still DO! (I even have to listen to "The Universe Song" periodically...........
As someone who admires Stephen greatly, it bothers me that he hasn't become nearly as huge in the U.S. as Hugh has. Stephen deserves to star as a brilliant character in a show in America.
Stephen played a few shows in Bones as a psychiatrist to … David Boreanz??
Two of the people we definitely need to make, somehow, immortal.
Fry and Laurie would both have a field day mocking the narrator of this!
Who thinks either Stephen Fry or Hugh Laurie should be the doctor in Doctor Who
+TheFranBear Or The Doctor and The Master.
Hugh Laurie = The Master Stephen Fry = The Master done
That would be very cool if the writing is good.
Both would make great doctors. You set me thinking . . Stephen Fry could be Del-Boy and Hugh could be Rodney.
TheFranBear Hugh would always be House, Fry could easily do it
I love how Hugh's face lights up when he sees Stephen ;)
Bless them...they're so adorable!
They could have done such a funny thing on this, and act like fry and Laurie were in different cars on the way to the meeting and interview them on the separate back seats then just pan out
I love them both. They were the best part of Tv in Croatia. They are amazing meisters of british humour.
These two make me so proud to be British. What they have accomplished is quite amazing, The wit between them is just on another level.
When Hugh said M’collegue to Fry when they met made me happy.
I love that the majority of Americans are complety unaware that Hugh Laurie even has a career in comedy
A good portion of them don't event know he's British
Bromance of the century! Love these guys to bits!
Absolutely love these two. Will be a dark time when they pass.
Hearing Laurie speak in his British accent is so weird after watching all of House and none of his earlier work!
Get thee to Blackadder and Jeeves & Wooster.
He has a fine clear English accent but has to use that stupid mangled guttural American accent in House for no good reason.
Jack Gammon
> mangled guttural American accent in house for no good reason
House is an AMERICAN-based TV SERIES
Still waiting for an American doing a fantastic English accent.....
I watched loads of his earlier work so that's the voice I think of as his voice, but I love that House has a totally different voice. It means I can pretend in some back part of my brain that they are two different people. Usually with actors it's unsettling when you see them out of character because it reminds you it's not real.

Fry and Laurie, when they work together or are together, they are so creative, blasting amazing!!!!
these sorts of things are my favourite, getting to see celebrities just hang out with their friends and have a neat time
Love Stephen's story about getting into university. He made me tear up at 13:00, too!
