Home of the hoagy sales there sauce
That's great! I no longer live in Chicago so I cannot purchase it. Also, since Covid a lot of restaurants have changed. It's nice to have an alternative for home when you want to save money 🙂
@@thehappilymarrieddivorcedw5137 I think it's available online for purchase if u want to indulge..my sister lives in Florida and had been craving it so I know what you're going through..it's nothing like good old chicago food harold's, home of the hoagy, maxwell polish, Italian beef, deep dish😋
@@hayden.43167 yessss, I am going through it lol .. as soon as I visit home i IMMEDIATELY go to Harold's lol .. I'll check out the ordering process for the sauce, thanks!
Looks authentic to me, lol. You ain’t make the shin on fries to go with it though😩. I was just waiting lol
@@jasonjohnson4883 lol I'm working on that..
I would’ve never guessed the sauce was tomato based 🤔 now I’m going to have to try this I been gone so long but don’t they have bell peppers in the meat
Do anyone know where i can find the sweet peppers
Sweet peppers are just bell peppers
I have 3 questions...1. How long do i leave the meat on the griddle to cook? 2. I dont want to burn the meat so what are the starting temps for the meat & onions to cook? And should i lower it once the onions & meat are finally mixed together? 3. After i season with the Kinder Seasoning what other seasoning should i use?....im sorry for the questions its just i been gone from Chicago & I also am in the South & THIS sandwich is one i definitely miss
Hi! You can cook the meat until it is no longer pink.. so maybe about 10-12 minutes or so depending on how much meat you cook. Cook it on medium heat .. you can lower the heat once the meat and onions are cooked to keep it hot while preparing your bread. Season with the Kinders, Salt, pepper, paprika, Tony Cachere creole seasoning and onion powder.. yes living in the south is cool but the food in Chicago is tough to beat! Lol .. I don't mind answering questions.. sorry I didn't see this sooner!
@@thehappilymarrieddivorcedw5137 thank you soooo much!! I been lookin for this recipe for years!!
I don’t have a griddle right now but I’ll have to use a cast iron skillet
@@mattlowe91 yes you can use the cast iron skillet. Just make sure you get it good and hot then add the oil, then the onions then the meat.. season to taste..you can also add your sauce to the meat after it is done if you want it more distributed throughout the meat.. lots of cheese and the Giardeneria peppers are crucial.. let me know how it turns out 🙂
@@thehappilymarrieddivorcedw5137 omgsh thank you!
That mf look good
Thank you!!
