- People have been taking Constructive Criticism and are respectable. But I think a particular critic by the name of AniMat has fallen out of that category... BADLY.

Anyone at any age can take constructive criticism, even if they are less than a decade old. So...
1. At least AniMat grew up (mostly). Since mid-2018, Yoshi Player experienced AniMat becoming a much better person in person.
2. I would say “AniMat has no excuse”, but it is Doug Walker, Mr. Coat and much more who have to learn their lessons.
I feel Animat's hate for Sony is hypocritical. He says he hates Sony animated films because of their cartoony movements, but then some other video will have Animat praising the living daylights off of Looney Tunes, which has exaggerated and cartoony movements...
Just hearing Animat ripping apart Sony for "Bad films", "cartoony exaggerated movements", and being "the company that wants money", can be pretty annoying. We get it Animat: You hate Sony.
What's really dumb is that people treat Animat's hate boner for Sony as a legitimate fact. They won't bother watching the films themselves to make their own opinion because apparently everything Animat says is the law.
I've seen Sony produce good, bad, and mediocre content. In fact, I almost love all of their films (keyword "almost", they have their share of some bad films too). Sony Animation isn't that terrible of a company, and I think most people (including Animat) need to know that.

I dont think the whole company is that terrible, either. Even Illumination isnt that terrible to deserve to go out of business. Animat needs to chill out. No matter what he says, i bet the people who made Emoji Movie are proud that the film was a financial hit. I bet the creative team were happy the way it turned out. Its still a bad movie, but the hard work cant be dismissed.

Dragolin Grand Donald Trump is an incompetent idiot who can't run a country. We all know that. But comparing Sony Pictures Animation, an ENTIRE COMPANY, to our president makes no sense. While the company has incompetent people in its midst, there are plenty of rational people who are just trying to get a paycheck. How would they feel if they heard something like that? But then there's comparing "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs", a MOVIE, to an evil psychopath that destroyed families by killing their loved names. The people who worked on that movie would be mortified if they heard that. I'm not a huge fan of the movie or its sequel but I would NEVER say something that low! 😡

The biggest issue I have with animat is his constant rant about Trump and politics. I am no Trump supporter by any means, but he constantly goes on about how the people who voted for Trump are bigoted racists while completely disregarding the genuine fear they have for the future. He calls out rightwing terrorism, but doesn't even mention Antifa to condemn the extremes of both sides. The fact that he cant take constructive criticism does not suprise me!
tbh, Antifa are just as shitty as the alt-right they demonize. What AniMat forgot to mention, for every idiot who runs over other idiots with a car on the right, there's at least a dozen, if not more, instances where Antifa maim and hurt others *merely for their fucking opinions,* and the half-dozen-or-so trucks-o'-peace driven by migrants to kill.
I don't condone Nazism in any way. However, that said, I also don't condone violence upon those who practice it peacefully. If anything, violence on peaceful practitioners is all the more reason for weaker practitioners to turn to violence, and cause a bloodbath. That said, all bets are off if the practitioners are violent to begin with and are hurting others who have little to do with the movement, for or against.

To make matters worse, he now takes the side of KickVic because he's friends with Marzgurl (creator of the twitter hashtag and former Channel Awesome employee) and generalizes voice actor, Vic Mignogna and IStandWithVic. If you have the desire to look at SG Sami's videos on what he said, it's all the more reason why I don't watch AniMat anymore. It is fucking abysmal on what he came up with in reporting the situation. It is half of the information he researches. He has instantly become one of the most condescending CZcams critics who could care less about anyone else who tells him otherwise. He said at one point that Sony should burn? Well he's going to burn now that he painted a horrible image on himself.
I am a Trump supporter, and I decided to unsubscribe from the moment that I saw this video. Back in the day, he was constantly insulting those who voted for Donald Trump. I actually remember watching the video of his thoughts of the 2016 presidential election, and he was since then, he was constantly saying that anyone who voted for DOnald Trump is a racist, sexist, fascist, white supremacist bully. This is exactly why I stopped subscribing to his channel. Donald Trump is the best president that this country has ever had.

Plus, not all Trump supporters are like that. I have a friend who loves Trump and he's a really fun person to talk. I have family members that don't like him very much, but they aren't shunning people because of their beliefs. Hell, he and many others have a great deal to learn when he doesn't even know the guy. If you ask me, when he shuns people for different opinions, he's the one acting like the real fascist. So when bringing in news that he hardly even knows, he compares them to hate groups when he's the one perpetuating the hate. He's acting like the things he hates. Like screw you dude, seriously! He seems to be driving his hatred towards a company to the ground, and tends to be obligated to give their movies a negative review. And also, comparing Cloudy with Charles Manson and Sony Animation as Donald Trump, are they so bad that they deserve these titles? Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was so bad to him that he compared it with an extremist and a murderer. I assume he might be joking, but that proves that he has crossed the line. At that point, it should’ve been a sign that enough is enough. Sony Animation may not be anyone’s cup of tea, whether they work there or not, but it’s still a business that pays its employees to support themselves financially and function like any other company. It’s not flawless, but it does happen in other places all the time; not just Sony. Animat can still say he dislikes Sony, which is fine because it’s his opinion, and that’s what it is, an opinion. Everyone has different opinions and thoughts, and he should respect them. I, for one, enjoyed the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movies and the Hotel Transylvania movies despite that he hates them. Changes have to be made because if he stays in the mindset that there’s nothing wrong in his works, chances are the consequences will slowly catch up and affect him in a big way. And he should wake up quickly to it by starting with acknowledging everyone’s opinions instead of regarding everyone as simple minded masses that don’t understand art.

I honestly lost all respect for AniMat (and even ended my pledge on Patreon) when I listened to part of his Animation Podcast and he stated, "Well, I shouldn't say 'stupid Trump supporters' because that would imply that there are SMART Trump supporters". Even if I wasn't a fan of Trump, the fact that he would just insult so many people like that for simply having a differing opinion is just disgusting.

I don't think AniMat has seen half of the movies he talks about. He says Dreamworks' movie Turbo is a ripoff of Cars when the themes in that movie more so emulates the same themes in Ratatouille. So I don't believe anything he says.
To be fair, he actually did see and review "Turbo".
SmashGuy, we did see AniMat refer to Turbo as a supposed mockbuster of Cars (a better film) IN A REVIEW OF THAT FILM.
And Turbo did steal elements from BOTH Pixar frature films released between The Incredibles and WALL-E.
I'm kinda insulted by this as someone who loves both movies. I don't see how Turbo is a ripoff of cars. I could see him saying something like this if he doesn't see half the movies he reviews.

I never got the Enter hate either. Yes, he made a few videos that I dislike his attitude in like Rocket Monkeys and „Troll“, but he has moved past most of the mistakes he still gets hate for like insulting the writers or shouting too much. And most importantly: Mr. Enter has something new to say in almost every one of his recent reviews that is more or less interesting to hear.
AniMat‘s videos have pretty much devolved into uninteresting summaries with whining about Trump being thrown into every single one of his animation podcasts. I unsubscribed to him a while ago because he bored me out of my mind. The reason I subscribed to him in the first place were videos like his „Top 10 Scariest Disney Moments“ or his Epic Mickey Files. That was some entertaining and interesting stuff.
Yes and I understand people are allowed to dislike his content, but the hate memes are just crazy over there on deviantART.

Well, believe it or not, even AniMat admitted the same thing as Yoshi Player but in a different way by rewording it right before he'd bond with Yoshi Player and perhaps want to work with him to take down Mr. Coat who has the same provlema as AniMat was exposed to have in this video.
Here’s the thing, I do like Animat’s content. He’s smart, creative, and funny at times. My biggest problems with him as well is his hatred of the Cloudy Movies and the Hotel Transylvania movies, his editing, and discussing about Trump. The last part really annoyed me, it’s uncomfortable, and I almost unsubscribe him because he did a podcast decided to the election back in November of 2016. He said if you voted for him then you are racist. He also said if you didn’t vote for him then you are still a idiot. (Something like that). I just wish he can stop talking about Trump and move on already. Also he’s Canadian, he doesn’t really need to worry about this stuff. Anyway, that’s my downside to him. I still think he’s creative but he should be careful.

Man, this is a good video. I have to agree with so many points here and I'm glad you finally pinpointed what I've been thinking for awhile. I downloaded one of his podcasts to listen to and I genuinely cringed every time he mentioned Trump or Sony Pictures Animation (and I'm not a fan of either!). He needs to tone down his opinions... Like, really? Sony isn't the worst thing in the world! I actually liked Hotel Transylvania despite its flaws. I also liked quite a few Illumination movies (Secret Life, Sing, and the first Despicable Me) so him bashing it CONSTANTLY bothers then. This was a fantastic video that addressed a lot of issues.

The way that AniMat called people stupid, who liked The Emoji Movie trailer that he hates is just crossing the line. His opinion is very biased. His criticism towards Sony Animation is just too much. AniMat, if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all. Maybe Bambi can teach you that.
Welp, as bad as AniMat is for that, people wanting to kill AniMat because he doesn’t like The Emoji Movie and many other films he gave his Seal of Garbage as well as he praises whichever films he gave his Seal of Approval (the only films in the world AniMat couldn’t have given his Seal of Approval are Frozen, The Simpson’s Movie and Incredibles 2. The “The Animation” and beginning sections of his reviews of these films were trustworthy, but he tried way too make them look great during the “The Story”, “The Characters” and the verdict section by saying way too little criticisms about them that didn’t make him sound so self-aware by taking them, ESPECIALLY with Frozen since AniMat gave both its story and characters a perfect rating. Let’s just wait for AniMat to review Frozen 2 to see if he realized that the movie has some major issues like a contrived sense of logic, characters that were both flat and melodramatic, animation that is greatly rendered but too basic and songs that are not very unique even if they weren’t as overplayed as they are since late 2013) like Mr. Coat are far more deserving of videos on why they should be forced to quit.

I utterly DESPISE those so called “critics” who can’t take criticism they have NO RIGHT to call themselves critics for that reason alone because they are huge hypocrites.
My main issue with animation critics and critics in general is when they are trying to state something as a fact. When they never consider that it's an opinion. I can say for sure that I have stopped caring about the rating system for films. Rotten Tomatoes is a good example that Ive stopped listening to on what they consider great films. You mention that Nostalgia Critic is good with constructive criticism yet he's been known for being incredibly rude and self entitled about films and people. Ive lost my respect for him when he reviewed his Disney films to name. He downright hated Ferdinand and called it a bad film not mentioning that it was his opinion. There's not a single animation critic out there that I feel the need to have any respect for. That being said I might still enjoy their content. Illumination & Sony Animation have received a lot of controversy for that the first (being incredibly lazy with it's story, character and art department) Their films have made billions of dollars (and yet their films remain the same) People are ticked off because they don't want to see Dreamworks to follow in their footsteps now that they are owned by Comcast. Sony Animation has received a lot of flack due how badly treated their staff and lack of credit in their movies. Remember that Sausage Party fiasco where the animators were un-paid or credited in the credits. It's important for us animation enthusiast to bring up this subject so animation companies can understanding the true meaning of what Animation really is. #Animation should be created for it's purpose not for greed.
Animation critics are worse. Mainly because they aren't real critics. And if you like something they don't (or vice versa) they will act like complete dick heads! It's unbelievable how childish they could get. Considering a large majority (who aren't cartoonists themselves) are complete losers.

I agree, another thing that bugs me about Animat, is how he acts like his standards for animation are higher than everyone else’s. I used to like his channel, but his whining, complaining, hypocrisy, bias, and ego have gotten very annoying. I just can’t take him seriously anymore, when he shows no respect towards the many viewers who watch his videos.

This reminds me of a comment I saw, asking why Sonic Team (the people who make the mainline Sonic games) haven't gone bankrupt yet, due to their most recent project ending up being a mixed bag. And unsurprisingly, I said the exact same things to them that you said in this video. Saying the company should go bankrupt or fail isn't going to help them improve in any way, shape or form, and while they have made several missteps over the last few years, there's always a chance that someday, hopefully soon, they will get better. But on the topic of the video, I have lost some respect for AniMat now knowing this, and I definitely do think his Sony hate has gone overboard and sort of jumped the shark on more than one occasion.
I felt a little bad for you that you received those comments about your series “Sticks” and how harsh the criticism was, but you handled it so well and made it a lot more better.
I had unsubscribed to Animat for years now and I just personally thought he wasn’t that funny or entertaining, and you showed me a side to Animat that I admittedly didn’t think about when I first stopped following him.
On the subject of Animat calling people idiots, it’s ridiculous on multiple counts. 1. Losing potential subscribers. 2. He’s basically saying it’s wrong to be hopeful that a movie is good. I thought the concept of the Emoji Movie sucked, I’ll admit to that, and I was 99% sure it would fail. Sony isn’t even that bad of an animation company. I enjoyed Surfs Up, I enjoyed Open Season, I liked Hotel Transylvania and Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. They make bad movies, of course (for example, they don’t know when to let a series die. Did we really need Surfs Up 2 starring WWE superstars, or 3 more Open Seasons?) All Animatt needs is some more open mindedness. To be a little more accepting of ideas and concepts, and not only will the quality of his videos increase, but I’m sure he’ll live to be a better person too.
On a side note, I want the new Spider-Man movie with Miles Morales that Sony Animation is making to be a success, and I want to see Animatt struggle to find something negative to say about it so that he can keep having an excuse to shit on Sony

I stopped watching Animat's videos a while ago. I can't remember exactly why, but I can say that I always absolutely HATED his Sony Pictures Animation reviews. He always got so unnecessarily angry and treated them like they're the worst company in the world (wow, how original). The final nail in the coffin was one of his first videos on The Emoji Movie. He called everyone who would rather watch the film before they expressed their opinion an idiot. He even went as far to compare them to Trump supporters. I don't understand how he can listen to those reviews and think "yeah these are totally valid criticisms and not just unnecessary personal attacks".
But... Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is a quality film. The first one at least.

To be honest, I used to like Animat. Some of his reviews were good, and his animation Lookbacks are Enjoyable to watch. Hell, I even watch it while animating. But, ever since his recent actions, I’m starting to think if he is a good person.
I just don’t get how people can’t take criticism. It’s not that hard to take criticism. It’s a thing that’s been annoying me ever since. Criticism is something that can help people improve on something. It’s kind of a hate comment, but it’s MUCH more calm and telling you how you can fix things. I can take criticism fairly well, especially when I’m making Red V.S., there will be people who criticize the Animation of it, and telling me how it can be more visually appealing. And I respect that. Also, a lot of people take criticism like You, A few of my friends, and a lot more. But, there are just some people on the Internet who can’t. Especially Animat. I’m not trying to go after Animat for this, but, I think he should stop this behavior. Because, no offense, he’s kind of acting unfair to people. Like you said in the video, Critics can be criticized. It’s kind of how Others say it. “Critique the Critic”. So Animat shouldn’t take the criticism as hate. Because honestly, that’s one of the big reasons he’s getting some negative attention.
Second, it really shouldn’t be necessary to constantly hate on something to the point where you want it dead. Look, I really do hate the Alvin and the chipmunks reboot on Nick. But i don’t constantly show my hate and take it to extreme measures. Another thing is that I don’t treat it as if it was a terrorist attack, or as if I just drank the milk carton. I say I don’t like it, and move on. It isn’t necessary to have an extreme hate boner for something. And it is just as bad if you call someone idiotic for liking something you hate. It’s very unnecessary. And it makes you much more of a bad person to do this.

If you ask me, AniMat is starting to get to a point where he seems to be just saying whatever he wants, thinking that he can get away with it. Recently, he has been saying positive things about the upcoming Teen Titans Go movie. He has a right to, of course, people have their own opinions. However, the way he's going about his "opinion" feels like he's forcing himself to like the movie just to spite anyone who does not. This actually makes him hypocritical too, because he said that the main reason he does not like Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs is because he felt like it was pandering to children and enforcing the stereotype that animated films are just for children. And yet, the Teen Titans Go movie appears to be doing to same thing, albeit with less creativity, and AniMat has little to no problem with that. I don't know if he'll change his mind, as when he thinks something might be good or bad, he rarely if ever changes his mind. But this alone just further proves that he is getting drunk off the little power that he has.

Even though I admire AniMat's passion for quality animated films, I tend to take his reviews with a grain of salt. While he does make some genuinely good points in his reviews for the most part, I don't agree with every, single thing he says. When it comes to criticizing certain films, he tends to be very biased toward specific films he either really loves or really hates, especially when it comes to his hate toward Sony Pictures Animation. While I personally don't care for any of SPA's animated films (They're all pretty mediocre and forgettable, quite honestly), I don't think they're nearly as bad as AniMat makes them out to be.

I totally agree with you Yoshi Player. There is nothing wrong with Constructive Criticism. I am a artist and I remember many years ago that people where giving me constructive criticism and at first, I didn't take it. I acted like a jerk. I had friends and other people tell me that there is nothing wrong with improving. Then I realize that maybe there is room for improvement and that the people that were giving me constructive criticism were wanting to help me. So little by little, I started to improve and slowly, my art skills became a little better. Today, I'm doing my best to be a better person and a better artist. I look at my old drawing and say to myself "you know Sara...you can do a bit better. Just work hard and you're become a better artist."
Plus I have stuff that I like/love that other people don't. For example, I love Jetsons The Movie. It's one of my favorite movies and it's a movie that I have watched since I was a kid. I understand that not everyone likes the film and I am ok with that. I disagree with those who don't like the film but I respect their right to hate it. I don't bully those who dislike things that I like. I don't want to bully or mistreat anyone. I don't want to be that type of person. In the past, I liked Animat's videos, but recently he became too political for my taste. He rants quite often about SJWs vs. Anti-SJWs. I mean, why do we have to be so political all the time? Can we not just enjoy a movie or a show like in the past? This is what I did in the past.
You've seen his Bioshock Infinite analysis discussing how patriotism leads to cultism? I wish I didn't look at that video. It's really bad. The dislikes are close to surpassing the like count.
