- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me today while I share this new whole house clean with me! I mean I almost get to the entire house, but the family helped out! They're always a great help! I'm three weeks postpartum and I have neglected the house as much as possible, while the rest of the family. did their best this place was in need of a mothers touch! So today I am cleaning it all up and giving it a nice mothers touch refresh deep cleaning because it really needed it! I had crap everywhere! It always feels good when it's done! Happy cleaning! After thanksgiving dinner at g-parents, we help them decorate for Christmas before going home. They’re both in their 80’s. It helps them and gets us all in the mood for the holidays.

My Christmas decor goes up when Daylight Savings ends. The lights really help ward off the seasonal depression when it gets dark at 5:30. I love that my house is decked out in Christmas decor for Thanksgiving because I put a lot of work into it and having people enjoy it makes it even better. My motto is its never too early if it makes you happy. 🎄❤ And I always tell the Scrooges I promise it doesn't make the turkey taste any different 😉

In our family, we don't start celebrating one holiday before finishing the previous one. Thanksgiving day is for Thanksgiving, the day after is a well-deserved day of rest (and cleaning up...lol), and the weekend is for buying the Christmas tree and decorating for Christmas. It's been a tradition with us since before 1900. I'm sure way before that, but I can only go by what I'd heard from Great-Aunts from my childhood. I love keeping up the old family traditions. With the fast-paced changes being made every day, I find it very grounding and comforting to keep some of the old with the new. They may be gone now, but I always smile remembering them, and their old, traditional ways, and keeping it going.
This comment right here is so accurate! Nothing gets redecorated until after Black Friday for us. Lol

The Good Witch is the best sitcom ever!! There are 7 movies and then the sitcom, I think 6 seasons. It always makes you feel awesome after watching it. It is beautiful and a small town, everyone helping out, and super funny. Highly recommend!

We cancelled Christmas this year. On December 12th we fly off to the Canary Islands and come back on 7th January. I am really excited, everyone else is looking for Xmas things in the stores and I am looking at sunglasses and summer clothes.

We have Fall decorations for Thanksgiving and put up Christmas decorations in December. That's how it was always done in my family. I never heard of having Christmas decor for Thanksgiving.

Just getting out of bed is hard with sciatic pain! I feel you! I had to have back surgery and slowly it relieved the sciatic pain.....so take it day by day and little by little. Praying it gets better! Kim as a mother....makes me feel I was totally failing at mommy duty! She is superwoman!

It's better than it was but still hard to be still in any position...you know right? Kim is super Mom. Her laid back nature makes me relax a bit and keep remembering It's good enough right? 💜💙💚💛🧡
@@cathleenweaver6483 yes! I had a severely herniated disk that was cutting into my nerve.....chiro and stretches made it worse. I had no choice ... remember it watch how you lift and how much. I agree no position helped...not walking....not sitting...not laying down. Praying for you!

When you spoke about a secret door for the boys, it reminded me of the 1st house my Mom bought after my parents divorced. Bc it was a new build in a new neighborhood, she got to pick & choose features. Well, behind my closet, there was unused space, so they offered to create a room (maybe 8' x 8' ft). This was the 90s, so it was only $700! They suggested a small octagonal window for $800, but she passed & it had no window. They added a 6 panel, normal door to match the 2 that opened up for the closet, so it wasn't hidden, but it was so cool! I made it into a little office, & hung my artwork on the walls. We saw a child's room in a house on the Parade of Homes that had colorful, twisted cords that went around the ceiling & in the corners of the walls to the floor, so I did that, & it was sooo cute! Normal young teens would've probably put posters on the walls, a TV, & maybe bean bags, but I liked pretending to have an office - I was weird! Anyway, I loved it, & when she sold the house, it was a selling feature.
The boys will love having a secret door, & if you could hide it, w/maybe a bookcase that opens, that'd be beyond neat! Just a suggestion:)

Thanks for another great video. It motivated me to ask my husband and my boys (who are grown….25 & 20 and still live at home) to clean up the house a bit when they are all out of work. I physically can’t right now. I am recovering from two broken ankles and a broken leg (open fracture - needed surgery - I’m now the proud owner of a metal rod and several screws). All from missing ONE step out of two going out to my garage 😞. Anyways they have been really trying…but they need me to give a few strict instructions on what to clean and what to clean it with lol. It’s going to be a long 6-8 months for me. We host thanksgiving & Christmas every year (my hubby and kids will be cooking everything this year. Say a prayer for me lol). We put our Christmas decor up the weekend after thanksgiving. I love your videos and Wolfgang is absolutely adorable. You’re doing great. Postpartum is hard! ❤️

That secret door between the boy's bedrooms will not only be do much fun, but strength their bond as baby grows and sees Wentworth as his very best friend. I also think Wentworth is a great helper. He eagerly helped you once he understood the task and quickly joined in. Isn't that all we can ask as parents that we give them the skills they need and they thank us by trying. Meredith kept looking to you as she knocked the books over, but bless her heart she picked them all up! I enjoyed the way she did that!

You know why I enjoy your videos so much? Your voiceovers. They are so entertaining. I don't enjoying playing cleaning videos to listen to while I am cleaning, and all I hear is elevator music. I enjoy listening to you talk even when I am not watching the video itself. You should start a podcast of just you talking about whatever. I'd listen to that haha.
When my four kids were little (2,4,6&8 years old), I was on the toilet, and they were all in the bathroom with me when my husband came home from work. He was horrified that they were in there with me. I had to inform him that I hadn't had privacy since our first was born, and if I want to be sure they're not up to doing something to destroy our house, I have to leave the door open and at least take the youngest two with me. I couldn't believe he didn't realize that before our 4th was born! He grew up in a "hyper-privacy" family. I'm one of 9 kids, plus two parents and a great grandma, who lived with us, all sharing 2 bathrooms! We were never in the bathroom alone! Lol!!!

Hello Kim! Check out Big lots for a sectional. We have had 2 over the years and we loved them! The most recent one we purchased is hug and was around $900. It was expensive for me but a steal of a deal compared to $3,000! Thank you for starting my days so cheerfully! Have a great week!

I have some friends who have an original cloud couch for their family/media room and a friend who got the dupe and they both regret the purchase of them- the cushions thin out quickly and won’t fluff back to that picture perfect look, they say they are too difficult to get on and out of them. The one who got the dupe sold hers and ended up getting a regular size sofa, two “they don’t look like” recliners as side chairs and about 8 oversized floor cushions with zip off cases for easy cleaning for their grandkids to lounge on as that’s where they always end up with their toys. And if kids or adult guests want to spend the night, they just inflate air mattresses (the room is huge and can accommodate 4 twins or 2 queens without moving furniture). We only have one living room area and 1 guest room, we put an IKEA chaise sleeper sofa in our living room with extra slip covers- since we are empty nesters, the sofa has held up and excellently, but allows for our son and his family to spend a weekend and the kids to sleep in the living room or our daughter and her family and once they both came down and we set up air mattresses in the oversized dining room to accommodate the 5 grandkids, one set of adults in the living room (has French doors with matchstick blinds for privacy) and the other set of adults in the guest room. That’s 9 extra people in our 1200 sqft 2bed cottage (we downsized from 3200 sqft when our children moved out).

I always decorate before Thanksgiving. Reason being, it is a lot of work. Takes me a week to get done and I like to enjoy it for a longer period. It will be easy to match your stairway garland. Just take a close-up picture of it before you go to the store. You'll find it :) .....your sweater ...Only you can pull that off.. :) Your the best. Have a great day

We hosted for many years, but no longer. I'm done the weekend before Thanksgiving, so I can enjoy the whole two months. We didn't turn on the tree until after Thanksgiving dinner, in order for everyone to Celebrate being Thankful. I also had empty boxes wrapped under the tree, because of kids always trying to figure out what they got. The wrapped ones were hidden. LOL

My tradition thanksgiving when the whole family was together after dinner the men got to it bring in Christmas decor lady’s fixed the best hot chocolate and the whole family puts the tree up and it’s so sweet watching kids put the ornaments on the tree have fun

Thanks so much. I washed dishes with you and made breakfast hooray! I put up my tree 2 weeks before thanksgiving. 1. because it takes me that long to fully decorate it 2. little helping hands 3. my cat goes nuts and takes things off the tree. So we have to put up kitty precautions. Also works for 2 year old fingers. Lol Then I fully put out christmas the day after Thanksgiving.Also christmas Ive been trying to shop year round. But I save a few things for last minute because inevitably by 5 year old has to have something that she just saw an ad for or at a friends.
The outfit though! 🔥🔥🔥 I had a thought, I know you host Christmas and you are the hostess with the Mostess, but because you just had Bubs and deserve to be treated like the queen you are! I was thinking could your friends and family bring a dish that makes them think of you or their favourite so that takes the pressure off and is super meaningful? Then you can enjoy and relax as much as possible? ❤️
Babe ever we host it’s always a potluck! Most people bring a dish for sure! But I always go nuts and make a ton of food too!

I would get a wide sofa that can be slept on too for the guest room/movie room - you could also add a bookcase for a library of movies.
You asked if we decorate Christmas for Thanksgiving guests? No. My mom was adament about not letting Thanksgiving get muddled with Christmas. So we decorate with Thanksgiving decor, but I really like the idea of white Christmas lights mixed in with it. I used to have a fall leaf garland that would look beautiful with white lights, but haven't found it since I moved last year. Oh and don't let anyone bother you with comments that your kids are not helping clean. When our kids clean around the house we call it, "kid clean". A mother's touch is always needed. No need to apologize.
I don’t know how you do it! Such motivation!! Honestly I always gave my kids small chores and it was their job. Now they’re 18 & 15 so now they’ve evolved to areas they’re responsible for…anything that would require me having to redo it I just did it myself. I have always worked full time outside of home and do not have time to follow them and redo chores!! You know your kids, you know your home, and you’re busy. I think it's more fun to take one holiday at a time. I enjoy decorating for Fall/Thanksgiving and sometime between Thanksgiving and December 1st I will decorate for Christmas.
I don't set Christmas up til after December 3rd. That's my son's birthday, and I have refused to let Christmas over take it. But my decor does stay up at least a week into the new year.
You should set up twin daybeds in the upstairs. You could even try like a diy pallet bed. And then you have guest beds when people come over

I have a friend who is 97 (!) and when she is asked "How are you today?" she invariably answers "Good enough!" She says that at 97, she isn't really ever feeling "good" but she is glad to be feeling anything so she is "Good enough"!
