Italian Chef amazed by 130 year old Korean Meal!

- Today we take Mr. Z on a culinary adventure with a genuine farm-to-table Korean meal. Or shall I say history-to-table?! Ojina has one of the most extensive collection of Korean food ingredients and sauces in the world and it was such a blessing to get a tour around the farm and try the food ourselves. This was a first even for me: trying a 130 year old soy sauce, 10 year old kimchi, on top of a full 16 course Korean meal! Hope you guys enjoy the video!

I love that Mr. Z enjoys the food so much that he just wants to share that and invites more people to the table. ❤❤
That is one thing I feel many cultures of food share. Southern US, Korean, Italian, Latino, African, South East Asian, MIddle Eastern.... Its like everyones shouting "Oh you gotta try this!" and backslapping and just loving each others company and the delicious food. Eating and drinking together is just the best.
Yeah that was one of my favorite parts. Get a chair, sit with us, enjoy with us. That’s the spirit of gratitude you love to see and it feels like Josh and Ollie (miss you!) live that philosophy. Z seems so genuinely happy in these videos that it makes ME happy. Crazy good series.
In essence they treat each other more than just friends and colleagues, but family - and family eating together is one of the best events of every person's life that many often take for granted.

It’s great to see Austin Kang again. Been awhile since I’ve seen him on public media. Plus the way he explains each food shows how much of a chef he’s grown since. And kudos again to the KE team for bringing such intensive searches on korean cuisine to life while taking Mr. Z on a crazy ride.

I'm sure he's on a few episodes of Korean Food Tray. Its a food show where a bunch of Korean celebs go to other countries to make Korean school lunches for the people.

Pretty sure like most of the Korean Englishman series where Josh is the main in front of camera person - Ollie is producing or handling the filming stuff. They almost always show him at some point in these videos in Korea. Unless of course, this time he just didn't go, which is certainly possible.

@@GarryChenYT Like I said, it's possible he didn't go this time. But most of their KE videos, he's producing or just filming etc. Not sure how many more videos with Mr. Z we'll get, but unless they mention or show Ollie, maybe he's just sitting at home with his family chilling :D
This must’ve been when Ollie hurt his back and was unable to travel with them. I know he was sad about not being able to go.
I just love watching videos of this private farms which have these beautiful history behind them. Just the pure passion, talent and patience that goes behind maintaining the farm is so heartwarming. As much as I love watching the Michelin restaurants videos, these simple local videos are just a different breed.

Oh how I wish my great great grandparents had the wealth and the forethought to prepare something like this for my family. Maybe it's time for me to set up some jars of pickled eggs and pickled onions to bless descendants I'll never know with ultimate British cuisine 😂

The best thing about Korean cuisine is it’s a communal thing and dishes are meant to be shared and they’re doing exactly just that with the host and the crew. This series with Mr Z has been such a pleasure to watch especially with Mr Z, being a chef, is being shown ingredients he has never seen nor tasted before

Korean and Italian cultures are both very family oriented and food centred. Both cultures are humble cuisines that appreciate quality ingredients. I'm really enjoying this series that gives us a window into Korean culinary tradition and excellence. Chef Z is a perfect fit for this journey!

Mr. Z, Josh and the crew deserve this trip. As a American I had no idea the depth of korean food prior to finding KE a few years back. Now I have been wanting to go there for the last few years! I just need to fund a friend who speaks fluent Korean to help me experience the culture, food and people better.

I still cannot get over how the soy sauce is 130+ years old. That soy sauce has outlived every one of us here - such an amazing and humbling thing to see. This is definitely one of my favorite videos of the series!
I love how Josh is trying to give Mr. Z the Korean recreation of their trip to Italy. I'm SUPER jealous of the meals and flavor pairings they get to try. Man, 130-year-old soy sauce is incredible. I bet there are a lot of interesting stories about how they preserved that soy sauce.
You know when Mr. Z says that this deserves 3 Michelin Stars, you know it's good. And the amount of history behind each dish, it's like an interactive lesson of sorts, like... the amount of work and patience that's gone into all of this is astounding.

I'm just amazed by the dedication that all of this took. 13 year old kimchi and 11 year old ginseng alcohol. That already takes a lot of work. A 130 year old soy sauce....this soy sauce has survived through multiple wars and been cared for by many generations. This soy sauce has lived through 3 different centuries. Its crazy to think that they're tasting something that was started so long ago. I hope it'll all still be going strong in many many years! This is probably my favorite episode at this point :)

It really is a mixture of humbling, inspiring, and downright joyful to see an accomplished chef like Mr. Z become so overwhelmed by a traditional, farm-to-table feast. The world really is a fantastic place.
My favourite part is when Mr. Z always looks to the chef(s) when he's giving praise. THAT is tribute.

달작지근하면서도 불쾌하지않은 짠맛에 적당히 신맛으로 무장한 묵은지에 숨어있는 돼지고기가 지방부분부터 혀에서 녹기시작하면서 고소함터져나오기 시작하는데 이게 또 묵은지랑 맛이 섞이기 시작하면서 크아아아아악

Each trip to Korea has told their own stories from the high schoolers, the rappers, Max and Armand. Mr. Z’s trip by far has been a wonderful experience and more than just watching reactions. You understand and feel his appreciation towards each meal. This is by far my favorite series. Well done everyone.

The last time I saw Austin Kang was for a show called 한국인의 식판. I still rewatch some episodes here on CZcams and I do remember him very dedicated in the kitchen. I can't believe he cooked for Mr. Z and the crew! This lunch was such a dream!!

This is insane. This is how food should be. Absolutely no pretense to it, but grown and made with so much care and love. Those dishes had to be incredibly labor intense. These guys are doing God’s work. And I’m thrilled to be able to experience it (kind of) through Josh and Z. Food trip of many, many lifetimes for sure…❤❤❤❤❤

i think what makes watching 영국 남자 so interesting is seeing the obvious consideration and time that goes into finding places that match the interests and personalities of the individual people that they bring to Korea. Korea truly has something that everyone can love, and being able to identify what one person would enjoy and take them to experience it is a beautiful talent

Food like this, where the food is grown right outside and every part is treated with care, it gives me so much joy. It's just pure passion from the chefs and growers.
Can I just say incredible job to whoever has been doing the music for these videos. From the “Waltz of the Flowers” in the last video to the incredibly subtle yet powerful use of “Miserere Mei” in this episode. (For context “Miserere Mei” was used exclusively in the church for the longest time and was set apart for God. It is used in this video just when Mr Z says “ it feels like drinking the alcohol of the gods”) Amazing connection made by the music that almost no one would notice.

Not sure who this Austin Kang is but a man who can speak bilingually so fluently is just so attractive. But what’s more attractive is the food and culture. My goodness. What an honor to taste a hundred year old soy sauce. You don’t get that every day. I wonder how the jjim must’ve tasted! Very envious. Mr Z loved it and I loved his adventure in Korea with Josh so far.
