  • The Riese & Müller Homage GX Rohloff is a very popular bike for us and I'm excited to share this review. It's really the best full suspension low step bike on the market and it's at home on or off-road. This ebike is setup with the Bosch performance line motor system with the capability of accommodating two batteries for up to 1000Wh of range. There are many drivetrain options, but this one in review has the Rohloff hub which has a huge range making climbing and hitting high speeds no problem.

    This bike in general and the the E14-Rohloff in particular is real technical masterpiece. I really admire the way, Rohloff and Bosch managed the shifting in under 200ms and under load. Thank you for the review!

    Hi Chris. Love your tests on the Reuse & Muller range. I have been hankering for an e bike for some time but the range and diversity on offer is quite overwhelming. I called into "love-ebikes" my local Reise & Mullêr supplier here in Glasgow, Scotland and had an in depth chat with the owner Scott. He sells other brands but is very passionate about Reise & Mullêr. I am a 60 year old male who has had a hip replacement. Scott asked me to sit on a couple of different variants of bikes and concluded I require a step through frame. I really liked the Neuvo GT Enviolo HS however this test has me thinking about rear suspension. I sold all my conventional road and MTB bikes to help me fund an e bike. In theory I do not require rear suspension as I would only ride to commute or light gravel. My first MTB was a Marin full suspension which was replaced with a Cube hard tail. I only rode the Cube a few times as I didn't gel with it, I didn't like the hard tail. I loved the plush ride of the Marin. I know the Reise & Mullêr is very expensive but the quality in the build is amazing. Scott is letting me take a bike out for a test ride which I am looking forward to when our lock down is lifted. My dilemma now is: do I go for a Neuvo GT with the suspension seat post or save a while longer for a Homage GT. Your input would be gratefully received. Keep up the fantastic reviews and stay safe. Best. Billy

      Thanks for your detailed comment. Personally I would probably opt for the Homage since I have back trouble. It would be the best all round bike. The suspension does add about 7lbs and about $1000 to the cost. The Homage won’t be quite as nimble or sporty as the Nevo but it’s definitely a bit more comfortable and holds the ground better. I’m sure you will enjoy either bike, but if push came to shove, I’d recommend a Homage. Especially on a high speed bike. The faster you go, the more important suspension becomes. Hope that helps

      the Transporter get a full suspension. 3000+ miles on my eBike with suspension seat post, wish I had bought a R&M full suspension. Bad knee and creaky back rider.

      I’ve had both hips replaced. Got a homage; added a suspension seat post, a c-9 seat as well as a seat cushion. Now it rides like my 77 Cadillac fleetwood, I can now ride about 40 miles on it (average about 25) without discomfort.

    Hi! I just watched this review - very good. Would you say that the Homage is the step-thru version of the Delite? Or is that a bad comparison? They both have full suspension and I think the exact same drivetrain options, same displays, dual battery capability. Seems to me the only difference is step-thru versus top tube. What am I missing? Are the suspensions different? Any other differences? Thanks a lot!

    • @Propelbikes
      @Propelbikes  Před 4 lety +5

      That’s exactly what it is, however the 2020 Delite is now available with the Gen 4 motor and the Homage is a Gen 2. Otherwise they are nearly identical.

    Thank you for the Homage review. I think the step through design makes a ton of sense. It's particularly desirable for anyone that's using the rear rack for substantial cargo hauling. You can't easily swing your leg over the rear of the bike when it's stack with cargo or a baby seat.

      This is an excellent point and I completely agree. We’re a big fan of the Homage and it’s quite popular for us.

    Ok, every time I watch something to do with Riese and Muller, I am finding it harder and harder not to buy now! I'm making the big transition to permanently ditching my car and waiting for the right moment for a couple of things to sort themselves out but man this is so hard not purchasing right now!

    Very nice video and intro.! Why do they design their bikes so you have to peddle all the time? What's the reasoning behind that? Do they design any where you can peddle if you want, or also just cruise and not have to peddle at all? Is it easy to change your own brake pads?

  • @Liam-nw6iv
