The aesthetic of her kitchen! It looks modern and homey at the same time. Love it!
More of this Jinger! I love it, you have this endearing way of telling stories. It's encouraging to see that you can revisit your childhood and pick out great memories♥️
You should do more of these. You did a good job of cooking and telling stories.
This is probably my favorite video you guys have ever made. Not a fancy adventure, super relatable, teaching not preaching, and just a cool conversation.
You should do more of these!
I don’t mind the preaching in the least. They are solid Christians, and that’s a great reason to watch. Also preaching doesn’t equal judgment, unless one chooses to be completely legalistic. They do not.
Thank you for the fresh little story! It has been quite a joy watching all of the duggar/bates kids move out of their homes and flourish becoming own individual people. We are grateful that you allow us to have little tidbits of stories and little bits of information into your life. These are things that you are not obliged to do but do anyways. Would love to see a video of you both doing story times from growing up. They would be quite interesting. I feel that I have watched you grow from such a little thing on your first original show that aired. Into such a wonderful woman of God with your own strengths and goals. Thank you again for sharing with all of us.
Enjoyed watching 19 and Counting for years. I think this is great you showing these recipes on CZcams, trust God and keep up the good work sweetie ❣️
I started making tater tot casserole because of your family. I tweaked the recipe a little though. I make my own creamy sauce and mix that with the ground meat and add mixed veggies to the mix. I layer that at the bottom, put the tots on top and sprinkle with shredded cheese. I think I'll make it for dinner tonight. Thanks!
Yaaa that sounds more like what id like. Thanks
Sounds Delicious!!
I do the same except, the cheese goes under the tots. We like crispy tots.
We love sautéd zucchini in our casserole.
Please more of Ginger's kitchen. I made the tater tot casserole I'm watching the beginning of your family show my kids did not like it at all.. Now they are 47 and 42 I think I'm going to make it again because they don't live with me anymore lol !!
kinkycoiled, do is it condensed milk or evaporated? There is a big difference between the 2?
LOVE the video. I like the fact that you just shared and chatted during. Told stories. As you know so many are still interested and love hearing about your fam.
Jinger's recipe says evaporated milk so I believe she made a mistake and her dish turned out sweet and savory because she clearly used condensed milk😂😂😂
Exactly!!! Condense milk and cream of mushroom???? !!! Definitely not good! 🤢
Does it matter
I think she used evaporated milk. Condensed milk is a little sweeter. 😊
@@pw3624 Yeah, I think she accidently used condensed milk. Condensed milk is sweet, but it's also thick like what she poured in. Evaporated milk has a thinner consistency like actual milk.
Yep! You are correct!
When I was a teenager, worked in my cousin's tobacco field. His wife always made tater tot casserole a couple of times. It was always a big hit. I love it to this day.
Please post more cooking videos! Love the personal touch of the stories as well!
Now this is the kind of video I can get behind. This was pure Jinger! We got a few great stories, the famous Tater Tot Casserole recipe and sweet Jinger doing something that she loves to do. Jinger, you did an amazing job! Congratulations 🎉🍾🎈🎊
Back in 2012 all my son wanted for his 10th birthday was The Duggar’s famous Tater Tot Casserole. I had to rewatch a bunch of episodes to find the recipe, easiest part of the whole deal, but in the end he got his birthday wish and I got to make a Duggar recipe…we both won that day.
I’m really looking forward to more cooking videos and hearing more wonderful memories and stories from growing up Arkansas!
It was originated from Minnesota and it's essentially called the 'tator tot hotdish' but I personally like to see others take on the tator tot hotdish/casserole. Great video 👍😋
From MN here, we call it tator tot hotdish, I put in onions and garlic when browning the meat, we only use one can of cream of mushroom and a vegetable usually green beans.
And it's definitely a dinner dish in MN
So everyone makes it differently but Tater Tot Hotdish (Casserole) originated in the upper Midwest in and around Minnesota. Its first printed origin that can be found is in the Grace Lutheran Ladies Aid Cookbook. The cookbook was compiled by the patrons of the Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN. Tracing it back to the 1930s. Its actually a Minnesota staple and is typically made with cream of something soup, hamburger or other ground meat, mixed vegetables and of course Tater Tots. Some will top it with cheese and others do french onions. Its really such a versatile dish and can be made to anyone's taste buds. Seeing how everyone makes it and how it has spread warms my Minnesotan heart. You do not attend a church function or pot luck without finding one or more iterations of this dish!
I added about a cup of sour cream and the vegetables and some cheese on top for mine....I'm loving this recipe because you can change it up.
I haven't had this in 27 years...my stepmom used to make this and I LOVED it! She added cheese and green beans and it was divine! I like this simpler version, too! Thank you! Beautiful kitchen and so lovely to see you being an everyday individual! Blessings!
Never tried this casserole here in Canada but looks good. Thanks for the recipe and a new video. God bless your sweet little growing family.
Awesome job Jinger, so nice to see you making more videos. Jessa did some recipe videos too. I enjoy them very much. Your family is such a sweet family. You have a great presence on camera. Please keep making more videos and sharing your lives with us, we miss you all on TV so very much. God bless you all ❤️
Yay! Tater tot casserole! 👏🤗I remember the narrators voice Tatertot casserole. 😂love this! 👏she’s not pretentious, just down to earth still eating foods of her childhood. I enjoyed this a lot. I hope she keeps them coming 👏👏👍🏻& the stories 👍🏻👏. I thought she did a great job in this👏
this is your niche ginger loved how relaxed you were cooking and telling stories in front of the camera ,just loved this video
This particular recipe doesn’t appeal to me but I love the idea of doing cooking videos. I’d also enjoy videos of fun LA eateries. Looking forward to more.
Oh the LA eateries would be a great Vlog topic!! Love that idea.
tater tot casserole has been a staple in my home for over 30 years. So simple to put together, yet so satisfying! You can also scramble eggs into the casserole for more of a Breakfast meal... I'm not a fan of Cream of Mushroom so I make mine with Cream of Chicken. I also add to my milk mixture a little cream cheese or shredded cheese and often for a dinner tater tot casserole I will add green beans and corn. It's INCREDIBLE 😍 SO incredibly Happy and Proud of you Jinger!! You are doing an Amazing job Lady! God Bless You and your Family and wishing you All the Blessings in the World 🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏
What seasonings do you add?
Sounds good with egg 🥚 and cream cheese 🧀
Thank you for sharing. I remember when everyone everywhere wanted to know y'alls recipe for that! Glad you make it for your family now.
Your childhood stories are so sweet. Thanks for sharing!!!
Loved the stories from your childhood! Please cook more and tell more stories! 🥰
We made tater tot casserole in my home Ec class in the early 70’s (yes, I’m old) 🙂 We didn’t use any evaporated milk, just the soup, and mixed it all together before baking. It was a dish I then made for my family. Always yummy. Love your kitchen Jinger!
I think my mom always added one can of regular milk to rinse out the soup cans. We also only had cream of mushroom back then.
She did change it up once because she didn't realize she only had one credit of shroom. Campbells used to (maybe still do) have a cheese soup that mom normally used over burgers (SO yummy) so she added that to the tator tot casserole. That was the recipe from then on!
I am from Holland and I was very suprised you would eat this for breakfast. We would definitely eat something like this for dinner.
99% of Americans wouldn't eat this for breakfast
@@lisagoehringer424 99% of Americans wouldn't eat this period!
It depends on the meat you choose
With bacon or breakfast sausage it's good for breakfast
To make it a breakfast dish- you could use any meat like sausage, use breakfast gravy for the sauce, a sprinkle of green bell epper some diced tomatoes...basically make it the same way as she did.
My mother in law introduced this recipe but I only use cream of mushroom soup in it. I also love BBQ cups recipe. I love these too recipes. It is a big hit with all my family.
You did a great job with this, Jinger! You should do more. ❤️ Loved your stories, too.
My mother made tater tot casserole when we were growing up. I have continued to make it during the 36 years of marriage to my husband. One of our favorites!
Jinger I have loved your family since 2008, I’m happy to see that you’re sharing your families not so favorite recipe but mostly just to see traditions carrying on!! Peace and Blessings from an old friend 🦋
Love watching you cook for your family Jinger and the stories on childhood. 💖💖👍
Jinger please do more videos like this one! I love just getting to see you in your environment hearing stories! This was definitely a hit!!! Love it!!! God Bless! 🤟🏻
Thanks for sharing your recipe! I’m sure it can go in so many different ways. I must try! 🤤
Would love to see more from your kitchen 💕
I make a version of this. Sour cream instead of evaporated milk. Add a can of mixed vegetables..a little seasoning..hamburger instead of ground turkey. We get these things on the west coast, more like potato rounds instead of tots. They're little discs with more surface area for browning and go on top instead of the bottom. Spray the top with olive oil or something to encourage the browning and flavor. I'd never thought of making a breakfast version. It's an old recipe. We used to do this a lot in the '70s.
Definitely please make more cooking videos this is awesome!!!
I enjoy this casserole. Since I'm vegetarian I use veggie crumbles and substitute the cream of chicken for cream of celery. It still taste really good. Love your home and love your spirit ❤.
Good morning Jinger Happy Tuesday Thanks for sharing that recipe with us. I will definitely try making it.
I appreciate the entire Duggar family. I don't focus on what the critics say (The family are loving, they tried the best they could). And they all seem graciously human. They WERE well trained by their parents. Some things may have been a bit twisted, but I'm sure they have realized and learned a lot. Even through their painful times.
I root for the Duggar Family ! All families can have some rotten stuff going on, which is painful. Why kick a dog when its down. Aren't all people supposed to be kind and gracious & polite? I don't think the last two generations were raised very well.
Jinger...I just love these videos of you cooking and chatting about ur childhood..I sure hope u keep giving us these great moments with u..God bless yall hun❤
Loved the video Jinger! You were so relatable and at ease and made me feel like I was there sharing your meal. Keep these coming!
There is a huge difference between evaporated milk and condensed milk by the way , she definitely used condensed milk ❤️🫶🏼
Definitely!
Definitely a difference ~ condensed milk is sweet
Yep that was definitely sweetened condensed milk that got put into the sauce mixture.
Condensed is so sweet whyyyy would you use it
Condensed is also more yellow in color and has a thicker viscosity
Jinger, I’m so excited to see that you will be having recipes and cooking videos. Love this content.
Love this, so wholesome.
Please do more of these.
A cooking show with story time. Love it 🧡
Looks delicious!! I will definitely have to try this recipe. Thank you for sharing!
Great Ginger loved always watching your photography! Who doesn’t love easy home cooked meals!
I had this once after I saw the show it was good but the next time I baked the tater tots until they were a bit crunchy seasoned the beef really well with onions bell peppers a little seasoned salt onion and garlic powder then used cream of garlic and celery soups with fresh sharp cheddar cheese on top that made all the difference and until your show I never saw anyone mom no friends cousin or family ever made that dish it’s great and tasty and very rich. 🙏🏾😋
I've been making Tator Tot Casserole for 38 years, I'm also from Arkansas but our version is a little different. I start with a layer of cooked hamburger, a layer of cream mushroom soup, a layer of french green beans (drained), then a layer of shredded cheese (I prefer velvetta) then the layer of tator tots. It's one of my family's favorite meal.
I enjoyed your video ! I look forward to watching more.
Mine is pretty much the same except extra sharp cheddar and I mix the soup with the hamburger. I saw a video where they added a layer of chopped pepperoni. The family loved it.
Thank you
I will try yours also I love all kinds of casseroles
0:00 put frozen tater tot in mouth
0:16 outside pieces of tater tot are flaking off fully saturated in saliva. The flavor at this point is reminiscent of freezer burnt fish sticks 👌
0:40 larger chunks have formed and flaked off and now it's just one smooth frozen potato chilling frigidly on the inside of my cheek. At this stage we're gonna rate the flavor a .04 out of 10. This is not tasty.
4:38 after numerous attempts to bite this frozen hobbit potatoe into smaller pieces, I've decided based on the merit of photosynthesis and pyrokenosis to spit this out but thanks for sticking around. Bye for now.
That sounds delicious! Thank you for sharing your recipe version. I’m going to try it🤗
Do you use any type of milk in yours?
Can’t wait to see all your recipes
Enjoy the cooking video Jinger! Looking forward to seeing more!!
Jinger
I am so happy to have you doing videos because I miss you so much
Looks delicious!! Thanks for sharing. Would love to see more recipes 🤤
I hope you start posting cooking videos! Love them!
Great job, Jinger! You are truly in your element!
We just had this for dinner the other night! I made a breakfast version with ground sausage, eggs and cheese. Sooo good. Thanks for sharing.
Loved this!! Can’t wait to see more! Would love to see some meals to feed a crowd that you learned growing up 😃
Jinger, you are such a natural!! Please do more cooking videos. Also, fashion finds would be good as well!
Yes I would love to see more of your cooking. Thank you for sharing.
Keep telling us about your childhood. I love stories like that.
Loved it. Life is not always as planned same as cooking. The best dishes do not always come from a strict recipe. I've made tator tot casserole the majority of my life. Kids love it. Depending on the ingredients I have available will depend on what goes in it. But I do cook my tots first and add cheese. Would love to see and hear more about your family. Have a great day.
Favorite segment of your channel! 🎉
Jinger then vs now…. She seems so dry…. Idk if she truly is happy. In almost every video she just seems like she’s putting on a happy face for it. Looking back at her on her 19 kids and even early years of her marriage vs now… very very night and day
Looks yummy and thanks so much for sharing your family with us l really enjoy seeing you.l watched your family from the beginning when you were in the little house with all the prairie dresses.l love each of you and your parents❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember watching all the girls making tater tot cassarole with their mother. Such a great tradition to pass down to your own daughters Jinger
That topping will be so sweet with that condensed milk
Of course so yum 😋lol
Jinger... I have watched you and your family for many years. I remember the ice cream sandwich cake 🎂. Yummy. Now I am watching you, Joy and Jessa and Jill. You girls are such lovely women of God. God bless you and yours.
It was fun to hear such fun stories and watching you cook. I always enjoyed watching your show to see the kids playing, having fun outside!!! That’s the way I grew up as well !!! Nice video
I remember this from the OG show! My grandmother taught me how to cook, the memories we made are priceless ❤️ I hope you continue to share cooking and memories not just with us but with your girls. Wishing you nothing but the best!!
We add mixed vegetables to ours. I only do cream of mushroom soup and mix it with the ground beef and veggies, top with cheese, and then add the tater tots. It's neat to the see the different variations. Grew up in Chicago eating tater tot casserole and I just made it last night! 😆 So easy. Never thought about having it for breakfast. We always have it for dinner and maybe leftovers for lunch the next day.
We made it the same way, and added onions when cooking ground beef.
I was thinking of trying it with beef and golden mushroom soup 🍄
I remember the very first episodes when there mom made this! This was the episode that has always stood out to me:) I thought man she hooked it up.
Love listening to your stories as you cook, such an awesome idea Jinger.
Pioneer Woman has a wonderful and easy recipe for homemade cream of mushroom soup that works well in any casserole. We're not health-food fanatics, but I've never cared for canned soups.
I love the video keep making more love to see you and your family
Yas Jinger. This is the perfect trajectory. You’re gorgeous, you look comfortable, and we love a good Duggar story. Bravo.
Haha had to watch this episode again, just love your family all 4 of ya . Also wanted to say I enjoyed the childhood stories.
Im so happy to see you i realy miss you Guys.
I've made your family's Tator Tot Casserole for years! We love it, but we also add some shredded cheese on the top for the last 15 minutes of cook time. Also, we make sure we thaw the tater tots before assembling or it seems that the meat tends to get overdone in the oven before the tots are fully cooked. Yum! Looking forward to more cooking videos from you, Jinger!
Love the idea of adding cheese the last 15 minutes! Going to try making this for the fam next week and will definitely add the cheese on top. Thanks for sharing!
My family makes tater tot casserole but they had like vegetables like green beans and corn into it
Is it sweet condensed milk or evaporated milk she used?
@@lilliam2532 evaporated milk.
I use cheese too. While I'm cooking the hamburger I bake the tater tots for awhile so they don't need as long to cook in the oven.
I LOVE your kitchen Jinger!!
We make this often my husband and I just love it!
I love seeing different variations of tatter tot casserole. However you slice and dice it with different ingredients, it’s all so good and yummy 😋
That looks really good 👍👍 have an awesome week ❤️❤️❤️
Love that dish, made it multiple times. Looking forward to more videos. God Bless!
It’s a southern thing I learned it when I move down here in Georgia and love it.
I love the different tater tot casserole varieties I've found. Great to see ya cooking again Jinger. Maybe the homemade bread next?
I love the step by step - almost like cooking with you! Simple to follow! I request more cooking videos like this please! 🥰
Also, I am from Minnesota and we call this “Tater Tot Hotdish” 😉
Good morning JInger. My favorite method of maintaining a sustainable pantry and stockpiling items long term for the whole family and the family dog and the family cat is what I consider to be the most practical, utilizing every type of food storage methods and technology available, both old and new. . Except for the fruits and vegetables that get canned, I keep perishable items like meat, poultry, fish, fruit, vegetables and dairy products in the refrigerator on a short term basis until I'm ready to use them for a big family meal - and for even longer term sustainable storage, a large separate freezer, which can store a half side of beef with plenty of room left over for homemade ice cream etc. . I'm considering upgrading to a walk-in freezer at some point.in the near future, if my plans to open a bed and breakfast come to fruition. Sometimes, however a nice round of cheese can do well for quite awhile on a pantry shelf at room temperature - and doesn't mind even if it has to stand there alone. Store bought canned goods get shelves.in the large pantry closet - several for canned meat like corned beef hash, spam and sandwich spread and another for canned vegetables Bread, rolls, grains, homemade pasta, cereals and the like are stored in special humidity controlled bins I order from Amazon Prime - which usually get delivered to my doorstep about an hour after I order them. . Stuff from the family garden and orchard, like onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower, cucumber, pumpkins, carrots, corn celery,, potatoes and yams, cherries, blueberries and strawberries get canned in Mason Jars and stored in the cool, root cellar of this wonderful rambling former farmhouse (circa 1867) I share with my extended blended family and several rambunctious dogs raised on table scraps from the some of the finest food from a plethora of sources both commercial and home based. . There's even a special separate "summer kitchen" which I converted to store butter and ice cream churns, pots, pans, utensils, extra storage containers, foil, bags, cutlery, and other meal related accoutrement. Out back in the woods, just beyond the big pile of wood I maintain all year, (for use in an antique woodstove I keep on hand, in case the power goes out) there's even an old rusting vintage still where my great grandfather made some of the finest corn whiskey for miles. Next to it is the rusting hulk of the Ford Model A he used to transport that powerful hootch by the light of the moon on soft summer nights to his eager customers in a tri-county area. Further into this verdant forest of mostly sycamore, oak, pine and scrub, runs a cool stream into which I occasionally cast a rod or net to catch some Brook Trout, Bluntnose Shiners, or whatever takes the bait (just earthworms for the most part). And yes, hunting season means wild turkey, deer, and even an occasional wild boar. Next week, I'm planning on filing for a permit to 3-D print a smokehouse in order to be able to create gourmet artisan handcrafted, beef, bacon, turkey, and beef stick jerky, which interested local merchants can private label for other people to share with their families and their family dogs. Unfortunately, I had to break the bad news to my free range hens today that due to expected egg shortages regretfully numbered are their days of laying a couple of eggs and then basically taking the rest of the day off with ranging privileges' within the parameters of a few very nice rural acres - parts of which are rich with fat grubworms. There's even a short dirt road between the main barn and the farmhouse which they're free to cross to get to the other side as often as they'd like. My rooster Ben overheard me and he ain't too happy either, knowing full well that due to oncoming egg shortages, he'll be "workin' overtime to make sure there's plenty of eggs for the family and I.
Love this format Jinger, please do more.♥️
Looks delicious and so easy to prepare!
Hey Jinger ty for the recipe. Sweetened condense milk is sweet and thick. Evaporated milk is milk that isn't sweet and it's a thinconsistency.
Yes, you would definitely want to make sure to use Evaporated milk and not sweetened condensed...The milk Jinger used seemed pretty thick, but she did specify Evaporated, so I am assuming she was using the correct kind...Hopefully, because it would have been quite sweet otherwise.
@@bethzimmerman3760 It certainly looked like sweetened condensed, it was quite thick. Evaporated milk flows like milk, it doesn’t require a spatula. She should really be clear about the name of her ingredients. Those two are certainly not interchangeable!
@@beedeegee9374 Yeah, I it would have poured out like milk. The consistency would have been totally different.
@@mindyjones3770 Yeah, I would agree. I hope (for their sake) the two cream soups toned down the sweet taste. I'm sure most of us have made cooking slip-ups a time or two.
Jinger! I loved watching you cook and share some fun stories! I hope you will make many more cooking 🍳 videos! 💕
I'm going to try out this recipe, thank you for sharing! Would love to see more cooking videos from you Jinger!
Love to see you back on social media, have missed your videos
When I make this, I mix the toppings with the tots so all the tots are saturated and not dry. So good!
Awesome video Jinger! I love cooking videos and would love to see more of your recipes. Loving your channel!
yummm. I will have to try this. Can we see more Jinger's Kitchen? I remember when you all were engaged and she said she didn't cook
love it. God bless you and your family
I add a ranch seasoning packet to my meat and mix the can of sauces into the meet. I also put tons of cheese on top of my tator tots lol. It's interesting to see how other people do theirs!
Yes! Or onion soup mix would work
That was definitely sweetened condensed milk.
Loved this video! Thank you for showing us some of your daily life!!!!
I don't think cooking tutorials are the best use for your talents. Whatever your passions are, that's what you should showcase.
Dear Jinger, I want to tell you how much I loved this! Please share more recipes! Actually, I would enjoy hearing about your skin care and make-up routines and or your interests and hobbies, too! You are such a wonderful young woman and I love the way your personality shines through!! Thank you for sharing!!! Love and Blessing to you and your beautiful little family!!
