Do you have any favorite dialog from the Fallout series?
My favourite dialog of all time is when you speak to uncle Leo in fallout 3. I love him so much and he seems like such a kind person
Major Knight's "Confirmed Bachelor" response was always a little warm to me. IMO the best writing is stuff that fleshes out otherwise generic NPCs, and those lines he gives really bump him up from average joe vendor, to "why can't I take this guy with me".
No I did not
Fallout 4's sarcastic dialog
Veronica's "Aww thank you" from the dress we give her. It's so precious.
1k hours in Vegas never knew you could recruit Victor
Sorry to act out of character here but wow same
@@sergeantarchdornan5739 hi seargent
same, but about 4k
My theory is that New Vegas is constantly generating new content each time it’s played.
He told me no
I don't know if i can cope with finishing a TKM video and not get told to "Get Fucked"
I bet its because that one dude kept bitchin about it. Wish you could kick people off like its a lobby and not have beautiful things get ruined 😭
@@cheesey42dude9 they can. If you piss off the cHannel enough, they can block you from seeing anymore of their content.
@@jerichohill487 ohh yeahh duhh, thank you!😋😅
I guess TKM finally realized my boyfriend’s a total bottom.
@@jerichohill487you can just make a new channel
If you run over to Victor's shack during the raid, you'll find him standing there in a non-responsive state.
Mr house changes victor body according to where the courier is
He is also like that if you kill Mr. House and let YES Man take his place.
The fact that the game is so old and yet people are still discovering things about it is honestly stunning
I reckon people will still play this game in a 100 years time if they can.
i mean yea if you played it for the first time today i guess you'd "discover" a shit ton. this dialogue isn't exactly hidden...
@@trizztriza7787 no, it is not hidden, but it is one of those tiny little details someone would probably miss in their first couple of playtroughs. This kind of stuff mades every playtrough feel different, and that is the neat part about imo.
Beauty of bethesda
@@MixSonaProductions But Obsidian made this game... Bethesda only published the game they had next to none influence on the game itself
I’ve never seen Chet’s Dialogue for giving him 1000 caps because usually, you don’t have that much by that point in the game.
couriers stash go brrr
I just like that they didn't make his "That's a 1,000 cap investment." line just be him whining.
Just like GTA SA!
@@Cnw8701 what do you mean?
@@marcowulliampopirers2216 In GTA SA, players and fans are still discovering shit mant years after the game was released.
its pretty cool foreshadowing that victor is prevented for participating in the fight
Why is he prevented from helping the fight though? What does mister house gain from that?
@@dylanragon I could assume Mr House didn't want anyone to discover the securotrons combat capabilities.
@@youtubecensored9957 I mean why would townspeople care?
The securitrons guardian the gate to the strip and the strip itself probably would’ve at one point have had to stop someone from causing trouble so why have the securitrons fighting in the area where more people would care to know their combat capabilities.
@@youtubecensored9957 Oh no... They'll see a Securitron using 9mm rounds! Surely no one has ever done that before! Such capabilities.
@@dylanragon He doesn't really care about people, especially outside of Vegas. Allowing Victor to join the fight would have meant risking one of his securitrons for a purpose that didn't benefit him or his plans.
I love him to death. I wish he was a companion.
there is a mod for that, good one too
Fun fact:
I believe when he follows you out of goodsprings, he actually temporarily becomes a companion, until you talk to him. Could be wrong though.
@@dilbertpickle1659 Do you mean when he warns you when you get into danger? I think it only happens when he manages to be nearby since it only happened to me twice in all of my playthroughs
I wish he were a boss if you sided against house. I mean like a upgunned securatron
@@gustavoleonelmelzi8661 While all of these companions would no doubt be interesting additions, did you say Muggy was supposed to be a companion? The very Muggy who is essentially a tiny Securitron with a hatred for his own existence that he only overcomes by destroying coffee mugs?
While New Vegas has a lot of interesting cut content, this is definitely up there as something I’d like to see
I actually just discovered his recruitment dialogue for the first time recently, but I didn't know he had unique lines for if you never spoke to him!
I stumbled across this myself recently and it totally changed my perspective on Victor. I use to think he was an patronising liar, but with this dialog it seems he's genuine, and actually just an unwitting pawn for House.
But he knows well who performed that override, he’s lying
@@backgroundcharacter1071 he might not actually
He is not lying he is a pawn for mr house a mr house robot just like the ones in the strip nothing more than that he serves mr house and that's it not a liar just a mr house spy
What's funny is that I did numerous playthroughs before I discovered that you will have the option to ask Victor who he is if you hadn't talked to him before. And I honestly never even thought of recruiting him to help defend the town. I don't even know why I didn't think of it.
Because it's not on your Quest options.
Sunny doesn't mention him in her list of people to recruit and he doesn't really show up much so you've not got reason to think of trying.
It's because of that Pip Boy you're wearing. Tells you where to go, what to do... dulls your brain.
I did both these things the first time I played the game. That robot creeped me up and was interesting at the same time.
@@atlasgraham154 Actually I rarely use the pip boy because I'm familiar enough with the game and its quests that I have it down to a science. I've optimized for efficiency.
You'd think House would be willing to risk a securitron in order to ensure the courier was able to complete his delivery and not die in an unnecessary shootout with some lowlife thugs.
The thing is, if people found out one of his bots is found helping some townsfolks fight some escaped NCR convicts, they'll probably assume that he's with house or something
He used many decoy delivery packages to throw people off from the platinum chip, seeing as the securitron is use only by House, letting Victor escort the courier is like pointing a neon sign saying "Mr.House's valuable come and rob us please~"
@@blackknightz5036 Except that the courier doesn’t have the chip anymore at this point.
@@averyvaliant Victor operates on Yes Man rules of he'll show up in a new body when killed. So it wouldn't be because Victor's personality, though does have an important role.
Scrounging the wiki about Victor seems to point to him being a sort of first contact for the courier (previously Ulysses). The plan must have always been for the Courier to meet up in Goodsprings with the chip, where Victor would bring it to Vegas. But was intercepted by Benny before the trade could be made.
Due to securitrons not having the best connection to Mr. House while out that far and wanting to keep a low profile of the dealings as suggested before. His combat abilities seem limited to self-defence against animals.
It's probably why Victor didn't shoot Benny and the Khans either while stealing the Platinum Chip.
My guess is that House just wants to remain neutral, and only use securitrons to defend Vegas and not military matters. Obvs this changes if the player sides with him.
Vulpes Inculta also has unique dialogue if you meet him at Nipton AFTER he gives you the Mark of Caesar (Ring a Ding Ding).
I found this out recently.
Woah. I need to get FONV working asap so I can do a new playthrough and try that out. Sadly I also need a new keyboard, but I'll get one soon enough.
I was terrified of Victor when I was a kid. Always had nightmares of him wheeling towards me and asking to walk me home from school when I was five or six.
Now, I adore the Securitrons and they are actually quite awesome once you get used to them!
🧢
WHERE'S MY OUTRO GOD DAMNIT
Sounds like some sneaky override... DAMN YOU MR HOUSE, **GET FUCKED**
I only found out a couple weeks ago!
Wasnt even intention, just wanted to go through Victor’s dialogue, but still had Ghost town gunfight active.
He was rolling through town when the fight kicked off so he incidentally got involved.
I only knew about being able to recruit victor, and i only discovered that like 3 days ago
Everything else is news to me
Victor should be a companion it would be great escepially for mr house playthrought
would've made sense.
he's wayy too big for interiors
I am pretty sure I did this on my first run and was extremely pissed that Victor didn't show up. When I confronted him afterwards, it was enough for me to side with the NCR (even though I found them grossly incompetent) instead of House. The Goodsprings betrayal stuck with me. As a matter of fact, I didn't side with House until I had done several runs as the NCR and one Legion run.
Weird how a simple little thing can change a playthrough forever eh?
@@DamienDarksideBlog I wish there was a dialogue option that included a reason on why he pulled Victor from the fight. Then followed with a [Terrifying Presence] response.
@@griffonclaw Mr House would never find someone he got a robot to pull from a grave "Terrifying". You cannot threaten him behind a speaker. The people you can use TP are either on equal footing with you, or you have an advantage.
At that point, Benny has the chip, not you. Victor is a robot that can have his personality changed to another Securitron if that one breaks. You have nothing to threaten him with.
@@griffonclaw Well, House already tells you why he didn't have Victor fight off Benny and the Khans. Victor was too far out to reliably control in a fight, and he wagered that -- on his own -- he wouldn't be able to beat them. Probably the same for the Powder Gangers, hence the override.
@@atlasgraham154 Victor was just one more gun to the fight. He wasn't going to fight alone. Sunny Smiles, Cheyenne, Trudy, Easy Pete, Ringo, Chet and the Courier negate that solo experience. It's a terrible reason especially since Victor is a Securitron armed with short and long range weapons and ordinance. Victor was specifically asked to join the Courier's posse and he accepted. House pulled the plug and his reasoning is wrong. House wants the Courier to get the chip, then that override makes no sense.
I just had a thought from him questioning the override, what if Victor could become a companion? I'm thinking throughout your journey to New Vegas, more of these events where Victor is controlled remotely happens and he starts freaking a bit (or keeps covering them up), until you reach Mr.House. After you meet Mr.House and it's revealed what Victor's purpose was, maybe you could do a side-quest that pops up or you get from Yes Man to cut Victor's connection to Mr.House's network.
After Victor is independent, his personality could take over and the game gives you the option to have him as a companion. As you and Victor wander the Mojave, he could have his companion quests relate to some offline-override trying to get him back on the network or shutdown, or he starts to gain more independence like Yes Man has. With the Override Questline, he may have moments where he shuts down near other securitrons, New Vegas, The Fort, etc. and he starts to worry about this. So either you can re-tie him to the network (revealing the Securitron MKII upgrades, but Victor loses sentience replacing his face with the MKII one) or reprogram him to have a stronger firewall (adding more resistance including energy weapon resistance, but cutting him from Mr.House forever giving him an amber-colored face like the pip-boy).
Another idea is to have him gain more independence like Yes Man, causing him to question what he is and why he fights alongside you. Having to deal with the overrides and instructions from Mr.House make him paranoid that he may be following directives from you or him again. It could all come to ahead where he asks if he really wants to hang around with you due to this paranoia, the fact you can handle yourself now, and what he wants to do with this newly found freedom. With this choice, you can let him go after the campaign (adding a repair menu and more storage to Victor to allow his own survival while attaching bags on him and giving him desert-camo paint) or you can reprogram him to shut down his free will (adding a healing function and gun ammo creation to serve you better while attaching a flag of your faction on him and bulkier plates).
Victor also has some unique dialogue if you talk to him after you kill him.
Wow….. ive never heard these before. So many years later and this is the first time ive seen these.
Me who met with him on all occasions going to Vegas: "I think I got all the details"
TKs-Mantis 8 minutes later
Victor should've been a companion
There's a mod that makes him one.
@@JimUK I know, I'm just saying he should've been one from the get go
There is no House companion and he already follows you. Idk why he can't be a companion
@@the_gaming_rabbit8017 It would have been cool to have him guide the player through the early game, the only problem I can see is that it might unbalance things a little.
@@JimUK not really, Boon can 1-2 tap most enemies within a mile fucking radius
I subscribed for the short fun facts about Fallout. Stayed for the outro... I feel cheated here without your "Get Fucked" in the end here TK!
“Howdy partner! So when do the rustlers show up?”
Lmaooo
Its ungodly how much detail they poured into this altered masterpeice.
I’m guessing the reason why they made is so Victor doesn’t help is because he’d quickly deal with those powder gangers unless they nerfed him for that fight, which would make future securitrons look weak for the player. As for the in universe reason, well I’m not quite sure.
I actually noticed this before your video, which really surprised me at first. In my last ultimate run during this summer, where I would get every usual and unique item, every quest completed, every activity done, every speech exhausted within the limits of possibilities, I actually remembered checking on Victor after the fight for the first time. I would always shrug it off since I didn't notice his absence during the fight as he always roam around Goodsprings once you finish quests or dialogues with him. It really, really, really caught me by surprise. I was even more surprised when I found out none of your videos mentioned this.
I always thought Victor was an extremely sinister chracter
2:38, I love how the cowboy icon switch back to generic Securitron icon :)) Victor turns out to be a persona that can transfer between Securitrons when needed, and they all share their AI commands.
Yes also mr house changes victor body according to where the courier is
I've been playing New Vegas for all these years and I just found out about this. Thank you!
there needs to be a whole video about Victor and the secerets about him like everything to know including cut content
the moment he said "count me it pardner" made me laugh so hard
i’ve always known you could recruit him for the fight, however i never thought to follow up with him as i figured he just took to long to get in front of the saloon for the actual fight lol
Glad you talked about Victor. He is one nice robot cowboy
I remember recruiting him to help but I didn't know there was follow-up dialogue. Thanks for sharing.
There's an old trivet in the kitchen here in dear old grandma's house we're now in. I can't believe a word I didn't know, I could've learned earlier if I had played a certain way.
Victor gave me some light creeps when I was younger.
if you also talk to victor when the powder gangers arrive a message will also show up that goes along like 'victor seems oblivious to your attempts to speak with him'
Yes man and Victor have some of the best personality's in the Fallout games
Once . I was on very low health after fighting southwest of goodspring . He appeared and told me to be careful and watch for dangers
*Victor..!* 💜
wow after years of playing this I never once thought to go to victor for help w/ the poweder gangers
His voice actor is the same guy who played Breaker in Tales of the Crypt Demon Knight and Death in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.
I like how this build to the plot and lore within this game
Never heard that last bit, just like a good RPG they plan for different scenarios
I have so much love for Victor
Yeah i heard the last one in every playthrough after the first.
Omg I remember doing this years ago... completely forgot about this a unlocked hidden memory
I only knew this because i like to mess with the geck, otherwise i would never know
All these years and I never knew.
"Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit"
Just started replaying this game. So I sort of immediately hightailed it to Vegas and heard that second group of lines for the first time. Super cool there’s still stuff in this game for me a decade on.
And now I’m not playing on 360 so I can mod this sucker!
I actually figured out you could recruit Victor by complete accident in my most recent playthrough.
During the gunfight itself if you were to go towards Victor's Shack you'll find him in front frozen. You can try to interact with him, but the in game message states that he is strangely oblivious to your presence.
1:46 there's also another one if you talk to him first in novac near the motel
I believe you can visit him in the shack during the fight to find him shut down.
I knew you could recruit him, but never noticed that he didn't show up to the fight
Victor never gets enough credit
During the battle you can find him in his shack shut off.
Noooooo! You forgot to put "The Mo' You Know" at the end!
TKs-Mantis: "Here, have another few random Fallout facts!"
Me: "When did you stop telling people 'Get fucked.' at the end of your factoid episodes?"
I miss it..
get fucked
New Vegas is truly one of the best games ever made, what are the devs that would put this many thoughts into the very first quest, truly amazing, that 85 was more than deserverd
There is also a cut dialogue from Victor when you betray Mr house
holy shit...in my tens of playthroughs, i've never seen these. It's amazing how the devs thought this far!
I went north from Goodsprings early on, heading past the Cazadors, or through them. Wanted to head past Big Mountain and get the Combat Armour early on. Big firefight with the Cazadors on the way though, and shit wasn't going according to plan, and Victor shows up to help! A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one! He had some odd dialog as to why he was there at the time. Very suspicious sounding, to say the least. Tried to play it off like he "just happened to be there"! Good times!
I love Victor so much he is awesome, easily my favorite character in the game. Love his accent and how he talks uuufff 😍
I swear it's a malfunctioning tube, not an override.
There's a similar case with Vulpes Inculta if you meet him in Vegas before Nipton.
I also did something similar to this where I he had his companion wheel open for him this is when I first played through the game I didn't even know what that was I could never recreate it . I wonder if it was some sort of scrap of old data I inadvertently accessed
I knew you could recruit victor as I tried it once and he agree but then the science dialogue goes on, it is a nice bit of XP for passing a science check.
Wow I never realized Victor doesn't show up to the fight because Mr House didn't want his robot destroyed. That is so cool
I did not even know you can recruit Victor for the fight
I remember on an early playthrough I followed him to New Vegas thinking he would protect me with his little 9mm cannon. We went via a lake and those fucking mirelurks terminated him. Another time he decided to go swimming in the lake and got stuck
Damm must play again
Why wasn't driver Nephi there at the end to greet me like he always does?
Patrolling The Mojave Almost Makes You Wish For A Nuclear Winter
Bro I never talk to this robot at the start. Had no idea you could recruit him to defend the town 🤦♂️
Interesting, I remember House said he commanded Victor to avoid fighting with Benny when the shot happened, I don't know it will be hinted in the Goodspring gunfight quest, what a great game
i did this on my first playthrough completely forgot about this
Damn, Viktor is really best boy
Think I recruited him every time but never noticed he never rocked up
Whoa, I actually haven't heard the override part.
Houdy there tks
I remember one time my game bugged i think because when time he died while trying to save me from a rad scorpian and still said dialogue about saving me. Couldnever repeat it yet
Thanks for the new dialog
You know what’s weird is that the people of Novac never talk about Victor. I assumed it was a different securitron then the one in goodsprings and that “victor” can just between them.
I always do this, thought it was more common
Another fun fact, if you check on Victor during the fight, a message pops up that says "Victor seems strangely oblivious to your presence. He doesn't respond to your attempt to speak to him."
Did you know that in fallout new Vegas if you get into combat with a strong enemy in the early game around goodSprings Victor will actually come and assist you and he has unique dialogue about it.
The details in fallout new vegas are so impressive
Damn.... I didn't know about that
Did you know if you go through the pass where the Cazadores are victor will help you and tell you to be careful, never seen anyone mention that before, and somehow I’ve heard all this before while playing haha
No "get fucked" at the end? Damn.
over 1000 hours in new Vegas and didn't know this, time for a new playthrough lol
I did know about the never meeting him dialogue since gunning it to Vegas past the deathclaws is actually pretty easy. But I've played through this game some 20 times and never new he could be recruited! Learn something new every playthrough and that's what I love about this game!
Wow! Thats really interesting, tkmantis! And I'm not just saying that because I have to!
I always recruited him since day one. Didn’t know it was hidden
I actually never knew this
10k+ hours into this game and never knew that 😅
