Injuries can affect any team.
If France lose Dupont I don't think they have a chance to go all the way, Ramos is also extremely important for them.
Dante was also noticably missing vs Ireland this year, Cyril Baille another.
Any team will struggle losing some of their best players.

My only concern is that Ireland snookered themselves by only starting their first team once in the warmups, meaning they've only played together once in 6 months, and the England game showed how rusty they are Ang that simply wouldn't be able to beat Scotland or SA playing like that. Scotland and South Africa's first team have played 2 or 3 games together in the warmups, and South Africa had the benefit of the recent rugby championship.
If the first team don't start against Romania or Tonga they're not going to get out of the group, there's no question about that. They're simply not match ready to take on Scotland or SA

Other countries have to use those test matches to trial things because their teams are massively spread the rest of the time. Thus, in-between World Cups, Ireland gain rank 1 status because they're always playing their best teams against other countries who are trialing squads, tactics etc. When the World Cup comes around, everyone stops testing and puts forward their best. Ireland appears to choke, but in reality, the other teams have just stopped messing around. I don't foresee anything different happening this year unfortunately.

This is sport, not miss congeniality. World Cups are win by the best team, not the most liked team or based on sentiment. If you're really so pro NH to win this World Cup, why start out by hoping NZ win it??? Isn't NZ a SH nation? So, if NZ doesn't win it, you say rather a NH team?

There is no way to say who will win this World Cup. Scotland can produce an upset. If not, the quarter finals will be a toss-up no matter who plays who.
