The guy is bang on the money. This is what I've been saying the past week or so.
So many Jets fans think Rutger is entititled and should wait his turn because other players did. And that may be the case for some players. But when you have a prospect with the skillset that Rutger has, you have to be willing to give him a real opportunity. Yeah, Lambert and Chibrikov and Barlow have put their time in on the Moose. But they are not Rutger.
You look at the playoffs, and the Jets were constantly pushed around and knocked off the puck. There is no physical presence amongst the forwards. That's what Rutger could give this team in spades. Yeah, he has deficiencies in his skating, but name a prospect that doesn't have any deficiencies. His skating will get better with time, but even without it, he could still give the Jets' team a much-needed breath of fresh air
Guys like Appleton and Barron are nice players, but they're not going to make an impact like Rutger can. To lose a guy like Rutger simply because they want him to follow the same path as other prospects is stupid and should cost Chevy his job.

With Arniel as coach, he may be more inclined to bring in the young guys as they bring a speed and risk taking that scores goals. That being stated, the physical changes of and 18 year old to 24 is significant. We don't want them getting injured.

one size fits all is not the way to develop prospects. it's okay to have a general philosophy on prospect development, but when they're ready, play them. the jets have dicked around with heinola for years and have destroyed whatever trade value he might have had. perfetti is in the lineup, but the jets are stifling his growth. mcgroarty sees this and wants no part of it. if the jets are smart, they'll see this and correct it, and be a dynamic team moving forward. if they don't, they'll stay the course and be mediocre forever.
chevy is good at talent acquisition, but bad at talent development. you just piss off your prospects if you send them the message they won't be given a fair shot. will it be the same with lambert, lucius, barlow? because if they don't value their prospects, send them the habs' way. we'd love to get guys like that.

Also, dude, most players love the city and the organization when they get a chance to actually live and play here. Stop slamming the city. We watched him play fairly well in the Stanley Cup Finals and Conference Finals, against some of the best players in the league, which means he could totally play against every other team as well. Especially since the oilers have Bouch, Ekholm, Nurse, Stetcher, Kulak, Ceci and now Brown all on defence, with 2.5 million over the cap, why not clear out one of those defenders like Ceci so Broberg gets constant time in the NHL. Rutger can go back to Michigan this year come April be in his best interest to get a game in with the Jets, it's a big risk he could have a season ending injury not get his game in this year and run the risk of playing a 4th year at Michigan. The Jets' reputation precedes them. He sees Heinola has been buried on the Moose, which has killed his trade value. Former Jets' players and Wolverine alumni Trouba and Copp were strung along on ELCs and were forced to give up part of their UFA years before getting paid.
If a guy is touted as future captain, give him his shot. Sink or swim. And with how soft the forward group is, he'd make an impact.
The Jets seem to care more about having prospects rather than utilizing them.

If I'm sheif or Morrissey or Helly or elhers or KC and they roll this brat on the team because he got his mom to complain in the media. I would run that guy. He has to earn his spot. They were in a race for home ice. Just kick someone out for this kid that has never played during the most meaningful game sofa the season leading to the playoffs? Wtf. I actually hate this attitude. Quit complaining and go get the job. Go the moose and show you are the best. Then they will give it to you. Ville had the job out of camp last year and got hurt.

Again, another person who keeps thinking that all prospects are the same. This line of thinking is why this team will remain mediocre. Since 2018, how has the current system of development helped this team? What have they won with Scheifele, Hellebuyck, Morrissey and KC? Dylan Samberg is the only draft pick that's become a regular on this team. And so the Jets are going to lose their #1 prospect because of this. And when he's tearing it up on another team and becoming a key part of that team's core, the Jets will keep doing things the same way and keep losing in the first round.

No captain demands to be on a team or else...apparently he also made fun of the Swedish fans at the World Juniors. He seems like a very disrespectful and undeserving captain to me. This is not to say he isn't a very good player.
AGAIN, if he is so good, report to camp and show everyone how great you are! It isn't always as easy as players think it is. Fantilli did nothing last year (he could've used a year to develop probably).

C’mon this is trash. There is no prospect that has been mishandled by the Jets. Heinola has not been good enough, Perfetti went in the tank and clearly needed to step aside for a minute. Who else? Petan? Niku? If Rutger wants to play in the NHL he needs to earn it. No guarantee he doesn’t make the team. What does gifting him a spot do to the rest of the roster.

This rutger kid is all smoke and mirrors. It's as simple as he just doesn't wanna play for the jets. This is going to be a common problem with NCAA players to any team. Kids calling the shots now. Lol

    Hmmm...
The Jets hired a loser in Arniel as Head Coach, that doesn't help.
Season ticket holders have dropped by 25% in the last few years.
2 wins in the last 2 playoffs.
Broissoit leaving & replaced by Comrie is a definite downgrade.
Winnipeg is a dump of a city.
The Jets are in a downward spiral & could be gone by 2030.
