The BarDown crew is back with a new trivia challenge...naming 50 NHL teams. Anything from 1917 onwards is fair game, no "Mighty Ducks," though (sorry!)
I was able to name 46. The teams I couldn't remember: Montreal Maroons , Hamilton Tigers , St. Louis Eagles , Philadelphia Quakers , and Quebec Bulldogs. The reason I still have 5 teams left over is that I used the Seattle Metropolitans. I know that they technically weren't in the NHL, but in 1917 they became the first American team to win the Stanley Cup by beating the Montreal Canadiens.
Greatest theme song ever! As a Connecticut native, we only have a few good things, the WWE headquarters, drum corps, and we used to have the Hartford Whalers! I grew up as a Hartford Whalers fan (switched to Bruins once the Whalers moved, but always will be a Whalers fan!) I was 10 when the Whalers moved from Connecticut, and was really into watching hockey back then (still am). The theme song still gets played at local parades here in Connecticut! There have been talks of the idea of Hartford Whalers coming back to Connecticut but I doubt if that will ever happen. It would be pretty epic though!! They did create a Connecticut Whale team in the National Women’s Hockey League, but it’s a completely different logo, and not quite the same as the traditional Hartford Whalers as we know them. The Connecticut Whale are located in Danbury Connecticut (located on the border of New York). Also Hartford Connecticut is about 7 hours or so from Quebec. I’ve been there a few times before. I used to have a box of Whalers jerseys I got from a garage sale when I was a kid but my parents had me get rid of them at one point. Wish I held on to them!
gotta say. as someone who wants more of these videos but also as a video editor. i can understand that you have to go through all the clips and put them in order from which they were said so that takes alot of time so props to the TSN bardown video editor

The New York Americans moved practices to Brooklyn and became the Brooklyn Americans at some point, but they were stuck playing in MSG because they forgot they had to build an arena before they could actually move, and then the league just stopped letting them be a team lol

what about the original Ottawa Senators who were around 1917-1934 and then were resurrected as the Current Senators we know now in 1992. they infact are older then all of the NHL original six teams if you include their participation in other leagues starting in 1883 though they had several names until 1908 when they settled on the name Senators which would make them older then any other team in the league by one year before Montreal.
