This is long, but I found that after cleaning this piece under the filter flow control, the backwash output was back to normal. Hope this helps. Sand filter Intex Backwash Pool Filter
Thanks for the video. I just wanted to add that I had the same problem and was led to this video when researching the cause. The filter under my multiport valve was clean but the video pointed me in the right direction nonetheless. My problem could only have been that the collar was loose and apparently letting air in to the system when backwashing. Put it all back together, snug, and now have constant solid pressure.
Thanks for the video. My water was so murky and all the clarifier didn't work.. only had the filter a year. Took it apart and so gross. It's working better now.
Had the same issue and found out my center pipe was cracked. I left it out over the winter and it froze. Ordered another center pipe and now I'm back in business
@@sarahthompson4117 Also, on my pump the backwash outlet hole is very small if you look inside where the hose attaches. I drilled this hole out to 1" and now it backwashes, rinses, and wastes properly having more flow to lift the filter media. After removing the screen and enlarging the waste hole the pump now performs quite well. Still needs to be backwashed every couple days as it is small.
That was my problem!! Thank you for posting this video as it's the only one out there I found with this information.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I called Intex support about this and they were no help at all!

Change your sand?
Take off that white screen and throw it away
That's what I feel like doing. New pump and sand, no good.
