  • Tag along as we tackle a pool filter that is directing water into the pool on filter mode (which we want) but also is sending a lot of water out the backwash line at the same time (which we DON'T want)! Spoiler alert ..
    check your gasket!!

Did you remove or repair the air bleeder knob? I am having trouble with mine! It will not close completely and a stream of water is squirting out of it. Any ideas??

To be honest, I don't think my model has an air relief valve. Or maybe I just haven't learned about it yet! I have the SP0714 Hayward head ... it only has the connections for water in/out, backwash, sight glass and pressure valve from what I can tell ... no air relief / bleeder that I can see. Sorry!

@@fixingrandomcrap Thanks for your reply. Is this pump newer? Mine is about 15 years old and still running. My air bleeder valve is on the opposite side of the pressure gauge. From your video, if it was set up like mine, it would be on the back side - directly opposite from your pressure gauge. Maybe newer models don't have them anymore. I really never used mine at all until the last year or two. I am almost tempted to remove it and plug it closed. Great video by the way. I've never seen inside my sand filter. Glad things worked out for you.

@@anitarushlow4022 I've remembered that this filter was not mine, but my neighbours! I will try to take a look at that filter next time I'm over there to see about the air bleeder valve. Cheers!

@@fixingrandomcrap thanks. I bought a new one and things seem to be fine. Turns out the tiny o ring was broken.
