    I just experienced this and it is because I didn’t turn my knob off of backwash after turning pump off - there was already a siphon created by the outlets, so the water kept flowing.

    I’m trying to setup an 18ft above the ground pool and I am using the aqua strong sand filter. I have put everything together and when I connect the hoses the hose with the top on it that you can turn on and off is shooting out water. Why is this happening?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před 3 měsíci

      Make sure that the o-ring is in place and not missing. If you have tighten the union on the hose you should be fine, if still leaking then you may need to check for any cracks on the housing or the hose. Thanks for watching.

    Hi Mark, I have a Sta Rite BHR200 Sand filter with this problem. However, I don't seem to find the multi-port valve from this brand anywhere to replace it. What replacement part would you suggest to me to replace the multi-port valve with ? Is there any other compatible brand?

    Mark, I dropped in a new Key Assembly 714 on my Hayward Sand Filter, put the o-ring on it lubed it before dropping it back in and it seemed to be working fine, however the site glass is full of water, is it suppose to be? I also added a Ball Valve to open during the back wash cycle and I close it afterwards. I went out today and noticed there is water sitting on top of the Key Assembly. What am I missing? and again, is water suppose to be sitting in the site glass?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies

      If this is a new key assembly it should not be leaking. You will probably have to replace. I would contact Hayward at customer support and they should be able to help. Thanks for watching.

    I was losing water in my pool but get this, my DE filter grids were full of DE on the inside and not coating the outside as they normally should despite me recharging them on Filter mode. Is it possible that my multiport valve caused this?

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před rokem

      If you are leaking out of the backwash while running in filter, then you need to check your multiport valve.

  • @zamszamundas

    If I forget to close that ball valve and start filtering is there gone be water loss? I forget to close mine and the pool was running on automatic filtering, the next day the water in the pool had decreased quite a bit

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před rokem

      You will only lose water out of the backwash or waste line if your spider gasket is bad or your diverter is not set down properly. If you are leaking out of the backwash when in filter, you need to repair. The valve is just added insurance. Thanks for watching.

    Hello and good day I have a question for you as a professional. I have a Hayward pump with an output of 1.5 HP. Now I wanted to know how many gallon in a minute or hour this filters. I have a pool volume of 22m3. Would look forward to an answer from you and remain with the greetings to you.

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies

      What model pump do you have? Hayward makes several 1.5 HP pumps, (In ground, above ground, variable speed) all of these pumps have different specs.

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před rokem

      You want to make sure that you have your valve installed correctly. Your valve will have a pump inlet, a return outlet and a waste outlet. If lines are switched this could be the problem. As a test you can run your pump in the recirculate position to see how the flow is. If everything is hooked up properly you may want to check your pump's impeller and make sure it is not clogged. Thanks for watching.

    I have 3 multi valves 1 is 15 ys old, 2nd is 10 but an extra, the 3rd is new today. its still leaking a couple of drops here and there. none out of the sight glass. I replaced the sand last week end back flushed and rinsed twice and still had sand in the pool. flush and rinsed again can to low of sand make this happen? It's a 150 lbs system. tried 2 different laterals and i was feeling sand on the return to pool. Confused PS: this filter has been running on an intex 1800 gal pools for over a decade. sand has been changed 3 times and never had this problem. sand .49/.20 is the sand Thanks in advance

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před měsícem

      Low sand will not cause this issue, you may need to check the laterals. The filter sand that you should be using is # 20 silica. Thanks for watching.

    if the gasket is bad in the valve will it cause filtering problems like de blowing back into the pool

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před rokem +1

      No, it can definitely cause a leak in the backwash/waste line, however if your gasket is bad then you need to replace. You need to backwash and rinse the filter if this problem persists, then you may need to check your filter grids/elements for damage.

    • @HallmarkPoolSupplies
      @HallmarkPoolSupplies  Před rokem +1

      The ball valve costs about 15 dollars, there is a link down below in the description if you need one. Most homeowners can install themselves, it is pretty easy to do. As for a labor charge you can contact your local pool company or service technician.
