    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

      We don't test our products and techniques with other brands, so we are unable to say if others will work. As for using craft glitters, these may not be cosmetic grade and the colors may bleed when mixed with nail products.

    Can you mix a top coat and glitter thin to get more of your background color? Like for an ombre?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 6 měsíci

      You can mix glitter into your top coat as long as the glitter isn't too opaque and will still cure all the way through. You could also add iridescent glitter to the mix to give it more translucency to allow it to cure all the way through.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you can mix glitter into your dip powders. The ideal ratio of acrylic to glitter is 3 parts acrylic to 1 part glitter. If you have our clear mixing jars, you can fill up to the bottom edge where the cap twists on with your acrylic & then the rest of the way with glitter, but leave a little space so you can shake it up.
      And the gold glitter is called Fortune!

    Hello,
    So in regards to capping glitter she said you want to cap because if you don't when you file it's going to leave little silver flakes..... but isn't that what you want for the effect?
    Also I've been doing glitter tips so I'd do my nail plate with pink or clear acrylic but then doing my whole tip area using the glitter and clear acrylic formula. So after laying the acrylic I would need to file down before capping or top coating otherwise your not shaping or anything. Am I doing that right? In saying that I haven't been capping at all.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před rokem

      Many glitters are a silver glitter with a colored coating. If you don't cap with clear, when you file, you will file the surface color off of the glitter and all that will remain is the silver.
      If you are doing a glitter free edge, you would apply a thin layer of the glitter/acrylic mix and then cap with a thin layer of clear acrylic. Once that is set, you can file without filing off any glitter out of your design. Here's a quick video to give you an idea of our technique. czcams.com/video/kMHLctMgn5U/video.html&feature=shares

    When you put top coat after glitter layer, what tips do you have do that glitter doesn't get stuck to the top coat brush?

    • @a.therese7886
      @a.therese7886 Před 2 lety +1

      If there’s glitter cured into gel but has some falling off, I would recommend a nail brush (the stiff ones with the handles if you know what I mean) and just brushing the surface to get any loose glitter off before topcoat
      If glitter still gets on the brush, keep a lint free wipe next to you and wipe off the brush before dipping it back in bottle :)
      Other advice that’s recommended by the pros is to maybe keep one topcoat for glitters and one for non glitters if possible :)

    (I'm sorry, I'm using Google traductor)

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 2 lety +1

      It's a personal preference. Some people like to use directly from the jar, but if you feel like you have more control with a sanitized cuticle pusher, you are welcome to use that method.

  • @jmrgunners
    @jmrgunners Před 2 lety

    Is there a problem with curing the gel when there is that much glitter in it?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před 2 lety +1

      When mixing glitter into gel, the only issue people tend to have with curing is if they only mix dense glitters that will not allow the light through. For example, any of our "Illum" glitters should be mixed with another glitter to break it up. Illum glitters are solid silver glitters with a colored coating, so the light doesn't always get through them to cure. If you mix another color with them, that will allow the light in between and will cure just fine. A couple of great glitters to mix with these are the iridescent ones (Crystal, Crushed Pearl, Diamond Dust etc).
