    Blew my knee a few years ago and had to get orthoscopic surgery; so…. I’ve unfortunately not been able to run in years! I still have to come to your site from time to time and watch your review videos because they are so ‘dang’ entertaining 😊 and the ‘ginger runner’ theme music is so cool (turn it up loud for the wife to jam along). Man…. Wish I could run again

    Great review, love that midsole from new balance but sticking with my Boston 12s got on sale and work well on gravel rail trails near my home.

    NB should really rethink its pricing policy for Europe. Here the shoe costs 230€. That's $243 (taxes included). Price comparison Mach X is 180€ and Endorphin Speed 3 is 190€.

      I’d like all of the premium brands to looks at their pricing, they are shoes people, for a thing 95% of people do for fun, if I wanted to bankrupt myself I’d take up cycling. 😂

      I loved v1, but the foam just died on one shoe after 500k. Still interested to try v2, but the European price is ridiculous. I keep my eyes out for discounts on v2, but currently my size is sold out at NB at full price and no discounts available anywhere. But hey, the Superblast took its spot and did really well in my training block.

    Agree they collect so many rocks and the like, also don’t think the durability or the foam, very good shoe for easy days but find it hard to pick up the speed in them for efforts, that being said they are an enjoyable shoe

    I bought this shoes last week, start breaking in after 20 km usage. It fits well with relatively wide midfoot, thanks to quite loose upper. The plate and underfoot design surely propel me forward. I prefer to use this SC trainer V2 for mile repeats on race pace. Great reviews 🎉

    So I loved my first pair! However my second pair killed the top of my feet. I tried different lacings and even skipped the bottom eyelets. I hate that it did this. I really liked my first pair. I even went back to the first pair and had no issues. So weird!

    I have these shoes and have enjoyed my long runs in them. However, it does drive me nuts that stones get caught in the arc. Also, I've got 150 miles on them and I've already worn through the outsole and into the foam in two places. I'm 175 pounds, so I'm surprised I've worn through the outsole so quickly for a training shoe. I've been alternating runs with the Endorphin Speed 3 and it doesn't have nearly this much wear on the outsole. (FWIW...sometimes small stones get caught in the ES3 also)

      Same experience with a lot of New Balance lately that are not their trail shoes. If you want something more durable, the trail shoes are the best bet.

  • @allenisarunner

    Hey GR. I recently got these on a deal in sz 10.5. I didn’t have the V1. I usually wear 10.5 in NB (Propel, 1080, MoreV4 etc.) except for the Rebel V3 (sz 11). I have about a half thumbnail of space in front of my big toe and the width feels snug but not too tight. I’m used to just a bit more space in front so that’s why I’m hesitant on keeping or exchanging. What is your advice on the length? Is a half thumbnail standard for you and/or other runners if the width is good?
    Thanks for your time.

      Have you tried anything like the Endorphin Speed or a nylon/pebax plated shoe? This doesn't have the crazy stiffness of a lot of the top tier carbon plates, which I actually like

    • @bpg201
      @bpg201 Před 6 měsíci

      I did mostly like the original endorphin speed...I don't think it gave me the same problems. But wasn't as wide as I prefer...though I think I heard subsequent models (like the 3) are wider in the toe box. Might have to check that one out at some point!@@TheGingerRunner

    • @xti2020

      I have both. Like both but this is less stable than the ES3. Not unstable. Just a tint of wobbly when I run in it.

    • @henya2409
      @henya2409 Před 7 měsíci +3

      I think the SC v2 is superior in most aspect, but the choice mainly depends on how you would use them. ES3 is more nimble, more agile, lighter and probably a bit better for fast paces. However, the overall construction quality of the shoes can not be compared, the SC v2 is A LOT better. SC v2 are way more comfortable as a shoe, the ride is a lot more enjoyable, more bouncy as well (I find the ES3 pretty flat and boring), protects your leg and just soak up miles nice and easy. Just by touching the shoes you can feel the difference in quality. Also, I don't experience the stone collecting problem, but truth to be told I only run on roads and running tracks. Why would anyone run on gravel in SC v2?

    You did this review without trying them for sure. They are not that comfortable once running. The worst is their quality After my first 1 hour run with them, they looked like they had been used for three marathons. Midsole exposure led to wearing it our seriously. Exposed carbon plate got scratched. Like so many say, stones get trapped in that unnecessary sole division, and I run excusively on the road. Total disappointment, but the author of this video obviously sold himself for that pair for free or whi know what.
