New Balance SC Trainer v2 First Look | Lighter, Sleeker, Same Versatile Efficiency! - Sport
I dunno. The "illegal" stack height of the current SC Trainer is what made it special. It holds a unique position in between daily trainer and easy/recovery categories and now it's just another plated daily trainer. I'll get another SC Trainer at a discount before this one becomes available.
Agree
Im 100pc with u on what uv said here 👍
Idk, it might keep the same “bottomless” cushion feel based on what he said about achieving the same cushioning properties with a less dense foam compound, i.e. more compression range from slightly less stack. Altho by logic that probably means less durable foam.
@@jkhoudini Nope. On the contrary even though it is less stack it is softer and bottoms out real quick when you land.
I love the first version. I like the durable upper and heel cup as well as the lower. There's other shoes in the category of v2 that I would rather spend my money on. Guess I'll stock up in v1. 🤷
Idk man, I just got my V1 and barely have 50 miles on it. I love everything about them
If it's 40mm stack then they should name it to something else like the SC Trainer Lite. For v2 they should continue making 47mm and improved on it.
The V1 is amazing. My foot still feel fresh after a long run
I'm snagging a pair as soon as they go on sale once the V2's are released. Using the Rebel V2 and V3 for now, love the Fuelcell foam, but want more of it for my longer runs.
I think v2 will be a much more useful, much more versatile shoe. It might be a successor to largely successful shoe FuelCell TC. It might even turn out to be as successful as v1 on long runs since it will be lighter. I think it is a good move.
Why less stack high?
Version 1 is fantastic!
I guess NB decided it's too "niche" or something like that and want a piece of that pie that Endorphin Speed 3 and Deviate Nitro 2 have. I'm very happy with the current version. It's a bit heavy but can still pick up the pace pretty good when you want to. And the "illegal" 47mm stack height is very easy on your feet and legs and now they lower it to be just another daily trainer. Maybe NB also decided the SC Trainer is second fiddle to the Adidas Prime X (OG and Strung) for over-the-max stack running shoes, which it is.
Yes exactly. Silly move by NB.
@@haon2205not really. People will eat these up.
These look amazing !!
2 major ingredient changes, STACK HEIGHT & FOAM and a myriad of small changes. Will it still have the same flavour? Looking forward to getting a taste mid 23
This looks nice. The upper seems to be a little more traditional; the weight is down; and it looks like it has a nice rocker. With that soft Fuel Cell stabilized by the plate, I'll wait for this one. In the mean time, I will probably stick with the More over the SC Trainer v1.
Please have options with darker colorways. The V1 is nice but the pure white version and lightest green version are just dirt magnets. :D :D :D
If the shoe was a huge success.. why did you totally rework it, removing a whole 10 mm of stack height? It just became like all the other shoes.
Literally spend half the video explaining why
@@ryanatkins5257 ye sure.. but nows its basically the same shoe as all the other racers.. people probably fell in love with the stack height.
This looks like a perfect update. Probably going to replace my new balance 1080 v12.
Can’t wait! The v1 has too much stack height for me but can’t wait for the v2!
Take my money! Hopefully they will offer more colorways.
I see the exact same problem I had with the Elite SC v3 NYC.....The opening drop to clear the ankle bone is wayyyy far back; does Not descend nearly enough.
Although, the edge of the opening is finished. The v3 NYC was NOT.
Such an obvious problem...Did NB
forget how to design a comfortable upper?
Lets wait for The reviews, if its bad compared to The old one, we might as well buy The Old one again :)
I thought running was suppose to be cheap. But there's so many cool shoes like this one I want to try and use.
same thing I just posted over at BITR:
I JUST got SC Trainers, and all the negatives are fixed for version 2! The weight, obviously, but also the heel collar of pain! That bunched up bit of fabric and stitching toward the tongue digs right into my foot, and a couple other people I know who have the SCT. Only 15 miles on my pair, and I'm working on a way to cut or cover that nub. If it extended just a cm further, it would have been covered by the tongue gusset, kinda a design fail. Version 2 is much anticipated!
Agree about the heel collar of pain! That was a total “miss” in manufacturing.
@@karena1713 KSA, did you ever get hubby to trim it off?
@@tazpengra No- I actually got used to it- I just needed to not tie the shoes as tight- where does it say that they fixed it?
Looks nice 👌
Please release them in wide again!
Now at last we have the true successor to the Fuelcell TC which is great news - that was one of my all time favourite shoes. I had no use for the SC v1.
The TC is still the best.
Like for Connor. Thanks for this information about NB Sc trainer. A nice day for everyone. 🌝🏃♂️🌞
Cool.🥰
jeez, I haven't even gotten my v1 out of the box yet and there's already a V2--that doesn't bode well for the purchase I already made :(
If anything, the v1 is more interesting, the lower stack height makes it have less character.
Unfortunately I simply couldn't run in SC Trainer to save my life. My ankles sit relatively lower than average, so the upper collar dug into my ankles, causing them to bleed. The sense of under-foot presence was too much. The weight created an annoying sense of inertia - I felt like I would constantly overstride unless I consciously control my gait cycle to step right under my body. To sum up, I was really struggling to run in these, even at 30 sec/mi slower than my usual easy jog pace.
Only question I have to ask: does it come in 2E?
Another shoe company like NIKE I'd say doubtful. NEW BALANCE it's a probably
That shoe looks HOT 🔥🔥
Would be great to have this v2 without the plate
Hopefully people love this and they reduce the price of V1 so I can pick up a couple of pairs
I will definitely buy a few more pairs of the V1s once they go on sale. Hopefully below $100
Do you really want a plate for a daily trainer? The shoe looks fantastic, but I'm skeptical.
I liked the V1 but my ankles didn't, so hopefully with this update they've moved the material away from where my ankle is. It'll take a great shoe to unseat the Adidas Prime X Strung though :)
Hopefully, they're not overthinking/overcreating it and about to ruin a good shoe.
Bring back the 15 Wide. The SC 1 in 14 2E killed my feet.
Why, now it's just a normal carbon plated trainer... the stack is what made it interesting.
Let's make a cheaper version with less stack for the same price lol
Seems like they got a Nike mole to self destruct their success. Really dumb move
Disagree. NB had TC as a plated trainer, solid shoe, which was allegedly replaced by SC Trainer, but was not really a replacement. Going back to more balanced stack is a good move, especially to distinguish the model from NB More. Brave decision by the management to keep searching and experimenting.
True
@@hexfire exactly. Plus they have to drop the eight somehow because that was the main complaint. Before it was in a phantom category of ultra stack but also a daily shoe. Now it’s a more reasonable height for a daily trainer
Once again manufacturers mess up a good thing
The v1 made me 6ft, the v2 does not
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Taking the “illegal” midsole stack off takes away the individuality of the product. Now it’s just any other nb running shoe
:licks lips anticipating SC Trainer V1 sale:
V1 is way cheaper value than Adizero Prime X. In V2 it feels like Adidas had paid them.
July?!? WTH!
Awful pair of running shoes returned mine as they were defective, they also run very small
Need size 15 for us clowns
The durability of the outsole is terrible. Worn thin and coming lose after only 120 miles.
looks like they ruined what i thought was the point of this shoe.. but what do I know Adidas Prime X its than .. edit - nevermind they only come in pink
So many sick shoes out !!
