    Thx. Looking forward to it. Never been a fan of the portable scopes. IMO all of the modern desktop scopes are portable but with large screen you can see. As you get older bigger screen is much, much better.

      Hi Red! yes i just checked on your website, very interesting way of having a repeater with just 1 transceiver.
      In the about section you find my email adress.

    Hi everyone, I have 2 questions please.
    I bought a UNI-T UPO1202CS and so far it is a good DSO for my hobby except for 2 things are annoying and I am afraid that maybe the oscilloscope need to be returned but not sure yet as I don't have good reference signals to test it properly.
    for now I have an si5351 clock generator connected to an Arduino Uno R4 working as a signal generator.
    first problem is that when I try to use my oscilloscope to measure the signal of the si5351 the auto mode of the oscilloscope only works with signals up to 160mhz, when I try to measure signals above 160mhz and after pressing the auto button the oscilloscope shows 160mhz but the signal is way above that, it doesn't matter whether it's 165mhz or 200mhz it only shows 160mhz until I change the horizontal scale manually, at that time it shows the correct frequency.
    second problem is that when I try to decode an I2C data I am not able to get a stable waveform on the screen.
    not sure if this normal or should I contact UNI-T support, also I don't have enough resources to test the oscilloscope with different signals.

      @TonyAlbus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hi, if the Si5351 outputs a squarewave you need 3 to 5 times that frequency to properly see it on the scope, also a square wave has a lot of harmonics that maybe confuses the auto setup function. but sending a message to UNI-T is a great idea, then you are sure.

      @@TonyAlbus
      Hello Tony, thanks for replying.
      I'm actually getting square and sinewave from the same output, it depends on the frequency, for example, if I connect my oscilloscope to si5351 output number 1 and start increasing the frequency, the wave on the screen changes between sine and square, not sure which range of frequency gives sinewave and which one gives squarewave I will have to check that again.
      I am confused because before I bought the oscilloscope I saw an old video of someone measuring a frequency almost one and a half time the bandwidth of his oscilloscope, I think it was Rigol or Siglent, so when I tried that with my oscilloscope I was really disappointed lol.
      so if I understand you correctly, my 200mhz oscilloscope can only measure a frequency up to 66mhz.

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @bigdog9480 the generator keeps outputting the square but at approximately 1/3 of max bandwidth of the scope it wil display sine. it has mostly to do with rise time of the scope and the bandwidth. to you scope is 200 mhz the square would be visible until around 70 mhz. thats normal

      @TonyAlbus  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@bigdog9480 all scopes do 1/3 of the frequency when it comes to squarewave. sine wave you can do the full bandwith.

    Hello Tony. If you compare Agilent 34401A and Keithley 2000, which device is better. What is your opinion. Thanks

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi, thats a tough one.. i do have both but my keithley broke. if you look at secondhard market usualy the 34401A is a better buy. From the keithley i like the super fast sample rate. the Agilent ik like the bigger bottons and it seems more easy to operate and it is very stable on temprature changes. if you ask which one i used more in the time both are working fine. that would be the Agilent.
