- Psptommyg and I attended the Three Wheel Basic Rider Course sponsored by the Motorcycle Safety Academy. This course is free of charge to PA residents. It's an excellent course for beginning and advanced riders to learn safe operation of a three wheeled motorcycle. I highly encourage everyone to be a life long learner in safe motorcycle operation.

Ahhhhhhhh... the quick stop! The only thing we didn't practice before the test! Quite a hoot to give it a try on a machine I wasn't used to!
But you did great! You were the first one to go! I didn't put the video in of me doing the quick stop but my speedometer showed 30 mph 🤣😁. This is a great opportunity to refresh and learn. Jim and I did this a few years ago too, thanks for sharing with us. that was a beautiful mural at the end. So true about the shoulders feeling the extra working on the muscles. 💕NonnaGrace

Good video thanks to you and TOMMY G for taking us on the coarse look like fun can't wait to take the coarse in May I took the bed sheets of my bikes yesterday and started them up first time starting since last fall felt good just to set on them in the shed while they was running it will be a while before we get them out still lots of snow and getting more tonight changing to a long period of freezing rain sooner have snow I took a couple picture of the bikes and the snow in the yard I will send them to you guys if I can find a way to send them not real good at the modern technology I am old school take care have a great night

CZcams popped this up in my list, but we wrote each other in Moabman's channel! This was cool as it reminded me of taking the class in December. What's funny is that it was in Baltimore - and Bob was our instructor too! I saw him in your clip and was like, "wait...was that Bob?" LOL Thanks for sharing and glad you enjoyed the experience too. Didn't meet Bob's wife Celine as she didn't come down to our class, but he was a very nice guy as you all mentioned. I'm a little jealous you all got it for free in PA! But it's cool - I'd pay another $99 and do it again just because it was a great experience. Getting my own very soon...
Oh my gosh!! That is so cool!! Actually Celine was the classroom instructor... But Bob's wife was there for the second day for the range work. Bob is a heck of a nice guy for sure and knows his stuff! Yes, we had a great time! Did you have any trikes in your class? The only recommendation I would make would be that the course be can am specific...I didn't pay much attention to the clutch info in class because it didn't apply... So excited for you to get yours soon!! Yes, the class was free in PA, but I would have paid as well...I want to find an advanced course to take.
@@PurpleOnThree ahh, misunderstood and thought you said Celine was Bob's wife - my mistake. In my class we had a couple RTs and F3s. I had the F3 Limited (like yours, lol). No Rykers, and I would have liked to have seen and possibly driven one for comparison. An advanced class would be so cool, but I kinda had that last month! Can Am sponsored a free RT tour in different states. The Maryland one passed early April and luckily I signed up. It was great fun and an advanced class to me, as we went for a tour test drive of the new RTs (including one Sea to Sky). Class was cool but in a controlled parking lot - this tour was on the real road in real traffic!!! I was a little nervous since I hadn't driven in 4 months at that point, but was confident and remembered the training. Once we got a couple miles in, I felt comfortable on the road and knew for sure I had to get one! Keep posting your experiences - I love seeing/hearing about experienced riders and learning from what they do until I purchase my own. Thanks much.

@@kdub607 So here is the short version of my story. Are you on Instagram by the way? I got my motorcycle license probably 33 years ago. I rode two wheels for 10 years and then we started our family and I decided I was not going to ride. Fast forward 20 years and empty nesting and decided I want my own bike again but decided because of some physical issues that I should go with the three wheels. Found the bike in November of 2019 and was going to take a three-wheel course but because of COVID all the courses were canceled. So, I got some short rides in and some parking lot practice And the way I went. And even though I rode all those miles last year close to 10,000, I decided to take the three wheeler course. And my husband who rides two wheels decided to take it also. We believe you can always learn something! Some of the things on your bucket list are on my bucket list too. I want to do route 66. We are heading down to the back of the dragon in June. Are you from Baltimore? If you get the chance, go to West Virginia and ride. Oh my goodness what a beautiful state! We rode 2,000 mi in a week there last fall. Absolutely wonderful. I will check out that ride and thank you for putting that link!

Nice,my wife has always been my riding partner.We have a F3 Limited. Now that she took the course I'm back on the Goldwing. Thing is she did the course on a RT.At the moment we will change it a bit to fit her.Sofar so good.Be safe!

He did not and I'm not sure why because he had 2x4's there...I remember riding over stuff at my two wheel course years ago...Yep, we have our little cards to show we passed. I think "Lifetime Learners" is a sneaky little phrase which means "OLDER" 😂😂😂 Have a great day!

Training is cool. I am always trying to get my brother in law to do some learning. He's to badass for that. Rides okay. Could really work on slow speed moving.
You are right about training, Ray! We can always learn something new. The advanced three wheeler courses are hard to come by... My hubby, PSP Tommy G, tries to take in advanced course every chance he gets!
I have never Road one of these. I may have to try it one day. Very cool to see the MSF course setup for it 👍🏻

I took the course and they didn’t have it marked out for the lanes. I did do so well because of no lanes to see the lay out of the track. I now have to retake the course. At least I did well on the written portion.
I totally get that, Jerry! I've seen other courses where the layout was very obvious. Well, chalk it up to adding more experience! 🤗💜
I am a very new beginner at this, and went in not knowing anything at all about it. I guess their is a lot more studying for me to do.

Looks like a great class. Good to know there are classes like that for whenever my wife decides she wants to learn. How do you get both of your audio in the video? I have seen a couple of ways to do it. Just curious how you have yours setup. Ride Safe! 🤘
Yes, Mrs. NVA Rider would love it! We both have Sena 10C EVO's. I did have to go back in and change a setting on mine...bought it used and didn't check the settings first...I had a horrible echo, but fixed it easily. Have a great day!

No, PA provides the Spyders and Rykers unless you want to bring your own. It was a lot of fun!
Oh, and roosters will sometimes chase each other half the day by my house. Haha.
I think we have more roosters than hens!
@@PurpleOnThree Hahahaha, we've been there in the past. Today we went to the co-op and bought 25 more chicks of a few different breeds (to keep our supply of a variety of colored eggs, blue, olive green, dark brown, beige, light tan, and rose...depending on the breed), and bought another 6 ducks, too. I guess I will be "harvesting" a bunch of chickens for the meat soon. I was just going to hatch some of my own, I usually do, but this current batch of grown birds got into the really bad habit of ripping up my huge garden. I'm not sure which one started them all on it, but to make sure we don't leave that little monster to teach these chicks when they get bigger to do likewise, they are all going to go. My wife doesn't want to risk passing on the "rip up our garden gene" by hatching our own eggs. Hahaha.

My Mrs is thinking about getting her license and a ryker. We are trying to decide on which can am to get. What do you think. Ps thanks for the video she watched it a couple times 👍
Woo hoo!! This is super exciting! Well, I would say if she can go to a dealership and sit on the different models, the Ryker, the F3 and the RT then she would get an idea about the different seating positions. To me, you sit lowered to the ground on a ryker, while the F3 is a cruiser type seating position. And on the RT you set up higher and more on top of the bike. The Ryker is throttle only... no shifting. It does not have power steering assist. I know at the three wheeler course in Pennsylvania, all three models were provided. I did test drive a Ryker and it is fun! If I could have two bikes I would get one. There is a Facebook group for women Can-Am owners called women on Road and she could join that because there's lots of discussions about different aspects of the different models. And of course I'd be happy to answer any questions about the F3.

You know what? I have been on 2 wheels most of my life. Seems like a bit of overkill. It’s probably cheaper to do the BRP course. But 2 days! Really. SMH! 🥴
I would say you don't need it...heck it was easy for me and I hadn't been on two wheels of my own in over 20 years. But, the first day was entirely classroom and it was a good refresher. Like I said, you can always learn something new. Did I need to take it? No...as I already had my mc endorsement, but it was fun! We had a great group in our class! 💜 And in PA, there is no charge for any of the MSF courses.

🤗💜 I sure did learn a lot back in like 1989 at the MSF.. course. At that point in time I had no clue how to ride and I learned there and it was a wonderful experience!
