What are we working on today?
Junkyard owned Mazda 6
TCM? PCM? Air Bag, etc. Lots of stuff and more.
What are we using to complete the work?
Hand tools, multimeter, battery, wire repair tools, and more.
Do we have any concerns about today's work?
We paid a good amount for this Mazda. We really hope we can get it running again.
Why did we decide to do this?
Because we enjoy troubleshooting and resolving automotive issues.

A clear-cut break/fix vs. it automagically working again.

We complete work in a small 2 stall garage with limited space. You can do anything you would like to do, no matter the space you have, just plan accordingly and adjust your plans to the size of your workspace. We Believe In YOU!
What's coming to the shop in the future?
Hopefully an abandoned Dodge Dynasty. It could happen.
Are you able to do lots of work in a limited space?
Yes, without question. The biggest issues we face in our 2stallgarage are organization. Keeping the workspace organized and both stalls clear of clutter really helps with motivation, which then helps with productivity. Basically, if I see a clean workspace, I'm much more ready to dive into a project or even just scheduled maintenance like today's oil change.

I got 3 from the auction stationary...it was just the transmission stick...it start in neutral....so I stretch the cable and that's it

Hey! Great job hunting down the issues! I wanted to let you know though that the 2008 Mazda6 had a 5 speed auto and the 2005 is a 4 speed auto. TCM isnt compatible

Having the same issue with the lights no showing up in park and reverse even after changing the safety neutral switch on my 05 2.3 l as well
I’ll be looking into this one soon. Hopefully I discover something that helps.
So question, i have the exact same issue, replaced tcm with one in the junkyard, TCM fuse stopped blowing and now injector fuse keeps blowing. Looks like yours just stopped blowing randomly? Mine doest even try to crank. Lights on, no click, no fuel pump sound or anything. Did i miss something in the video?
You didn’t miss anything. My TCM fuse stopped blowing when I disconnected the TCM, but it only cleared enough to run and drive a bit. Then the starter failed so I sent it to scrap. The Lord be with you. I hope you can figure out the issue. 🙏

I'm not sure. Look up the replacement part number to see if it's a match. That'd be where I'd start.

@@2StallGarage mine is a 2005 Mazda 6 and it does kind of the same thing. It does one crank, and it’s like it’s losing power and i don’t know what it can be. Also when I I turn off the switch I can hear some clicking in the hood.
I would like to know if someone have a problem with the car key icon on the dashboard that it doesn't let my car start or crank it doesn't do anything just I put the key to on and dashboard turn on with the icon car key. Thanks
There is a module you can purchase on Amazon.com and a cheap download which will allow you to program your key.
You may need to have 2 keys, I can’t remember, but I used the pass through device (on Amazon) with my laptop to delete all keys and then add back into the ECM on this Mazda.

The TCM was $27 at the pulley junk yard.

I have an issue with my 2010 mazda 3 not detecting key chip and no crank and code reader cant read computer but if i ground the main relay the car will start and code reader will work but then i have alot of other problems like the headlights dont work and my ebrake if on kills the whole car making it have no crack and not detecting my key chip again but if i turn the e brake on it works again
I’ve heard several people say they found an issue with the neutral position switch/sensor causing no crank conditions.

@@user-dx8qc9hp7n I can't confirm that's the issue, but it very well could cause a short and the issues you're seeing.
@@2StallGarage that was my guess that it was causing all these issues and I got like 9 codes on the car
@user-dx8qc9hp7n I believe the TCM is bad on this car as well and causing codes. The Lord be with you as you troubleshoot.
