I literally just had this happen. The tow truck guy shut everything off, shut the doors, closed the hood, as if normal parked at home. He then locked and unlocked the doors three (3) times in a row. Then opened the door, got in, pressed the brake and it started right up. He had me shut the door and lock it as if I was at home like normal. Waited a few seconds and he had me get in as if leaving for work. It started right up! Saved me from getting bent over at the dealership!! 🎉
@@MrMartian23rd for a couple more starts it was ok… I replaced the battery as well. But I did have to replace the ‘safety city brake’ sensor.. these silly bells and whistles on these things.. but the sensor that alerts you when you’re traveling too close/stop assist went bad so the vehicle essentially wasn’t recognizing that the brake was being depressed and not allowing the vehicle to be started. It was under warranty thank goodness because I’d still be bruised from the beating my wallet would’ve took from the shop! I admire those that can get under a hood and work a wrench!!

This video saved me! I had this exact problem while stuck in the woods. I don't know what I would have done without this solution. I used the air conditioning fuse to replace the 40 amp starter fuse and got the car started. THANKS!

The stater fuse is a 30am Fuze and the main relay is part#V23134-B52-X464 C215 12V -+05523 this is what is written on the main relay for the starter - Mazda 3 2006
Before trying anything else, I'd recommend trying another key as the first step, assuming you have one. My key had unlocked the doors fine but one day had a no crank. I tried our back up key (which won't unlock the doors) and the car started right up. The other key later worked normally without modification. Immobilizer issue I believe.
My problem has to do with the ignition cylinder. Sometimes when I turn the key, the car doesn't start. BUT AFTER PLAYING WITH IT, TURNING IT HARD TO THE END, CAR STARTS RIGHT UP. Is there a fix without replacing the key and cylinder, as I don't want to have to carry two keys. Thanks Jon
Hi. I've been watching a lot of your videos on CZcams. I must say I've learned a lot from your videos. I have a 2012 Mazda CX7 that still runs perfectly. It's has about 60k miles in the meter and I love the car! But recently, the car has been consuming a lot of fuel. In fact, it's currently showing about 9.5 miles per gallon. This is very poor, right?? I do not know what to do as Mazda is not a very popular brand in my country and there's no Mazda specialists in my city at all. I do not know what to do. My engine cranks but won’t start I was driving on the highway then it looked like it started to overheat I had to get it towed home it cranks but won’t start I know for a fact it needs a oil change but I haven’t tried or looked at the fuses can you recommend anything for me to at least get it to start so I can take it to get the oil changed
My case was insane! I went through every no start trouble shooting method and it turns out there is a green piece of plastic similar in dimensions to a quarter that goes into a part of the clutch pedal bracket that presses a button on the neutral safety switch sensor when you press in the clutch. It had become brittle and broken off. I pushed in the button by hand under the dash and was able start the car with the key. I'm looking to buy another one but I can't even find the name. I think I may just use epoxy and tape to get the broken off old one back on where it's supposed to be.

My Mazda 6 I 2005 2.3L Automatic Natural Aspirated Gas turns on the power but when I wanna start the car the car shuts down completely and if I wanna try it again I have to remove the batteries cord and put it back on to turn on again so you know why ? 😞
What about a bad key that has a loose connection with the button part... I'm gonna try my other key but it does it on occasion.. same key... But yet all the lights on the dash go on.. Just did it then I turn the key off and then turned it back on the car starts... Happens every so often maybe it's a oxidized fuse or something But I think it's a loose key because my one key , sometimes comes apart

I wouldn’t do a continuity test across a fuse without disconnecting the battery. Some of the circuits in the fuse box are still hot even though the key is switched off. The proper tool for testing fuses would be a test light. If you use a multimeter then you take the fuse out of the circuit

No not fixed - I’ve just gotten used to having to turn the key on and put it into neutral before I start it up. It’s likely just a buggy sensor as it is not always recognizing that the car is in park. It works about 50% of the time and I figure probably would cost more time or money to fix than is worth it. But I do have to warn people if they have to drive my car!

I got the same problem with an standard one, I saw another video where they replace a sensor located at the gear stick in automatic transmission but mine is standard
@@ngkngk875 yeah man, my battery had a fuckin crack in it and apparently who owned the car before just put some JBWeld over and threw it back in the car lol. So new battery and problem solved
John Smoke Sweet. Literally about to go to the get a battery now. Hope the gauges return to normal they are stuck in a messed up position now. Also that’s crazy I’ve never heard of someone welding a battery before lol
@@phanomchanthavong1668 Yes new battery worked. Battery was pretty old and having it sit during the lockdown a couple days was enough for it to finally give up.

My battery keeps dying and all my dash lights go on and go crazy and then nothing…the dealer replaced the battery so now it’s new and the same thing happened! I hate Mazdas grrrr…
I hate Mazda's too I just bought one, ran good for a week. next thing I know check engine light and AT light comes on, gas runs out quick, car won't start even after jumping, sway bar bushings bad gives it a ratting noise, it's just straight up hell. I'll stick with ford and never get another Mazda again.

A key switch fuse. There are 2 of them. You can try swapping it out with the blower motor fuse or power window fuse to see if the car starts.

Most of the time it has nothing to do with the key fob it's a dirty battery cable clean it tighten it good

When I turn the key on, I only see the door icon, but no other lights. I hear the ding dong sound, radio comes on, but no cranks, no start.
