Ironically, I feel like this live version is more accurate to the studio version in energy than the live version they played during the 2008 tour. I feel the band never liked it as much as the fans.

It's not that they don't like it...it's just a very difficult song for Thom to sing, because of the high parts.
no not because of the high parts, they are well within his range, if anything I think the lower notes are harder for him, because he can't put much power behind them.
Most of all I think they just never managed to find a live arrangement they thought did the song justice. I agree with OtaconNachos this arrangement nailed it imo..
@@arthurdent9160 definetly true. his voice is lost in low notes because of the powerful insturments on the background. In studio mix as you guys can hear he did it perfect. i hope they'll fix this problem and play this masterpiece live again.

Nevertheless this version for me better than other live attempts. It's strange that they doesn't play it in In Basement along with 4 minute warning and Up On the Ladder.
Live always sounds better but I agree with you I can understand. They are both great. But this song is meant more for album version
