Your probably the best sax teacher on the net, making it look all so clear and dead simple probably because of how you've explained everything. A great big thanks to you.

This lesson is JUST what I wanted! Thanks man - you are a superb teacher. After a lifetime playing guitar I have recently acquired two saxes - tenor and alto - and am loving learning a new instrument. I've been playing along with Stan Turrentine CDs (he does some nice SLOW numbers) but this vid is precisely right for where I'm at just now. Gonna look at you're other stuff and make progress quick - time is short!

Have to add my thanks to the list. You are a great teacher. Its as if you're actually in the room with me as you do stuff.
I too have taken up the sax again after a 4 year gap due to frustration at going deaf in one ear due to illness ( makes things much more difficult than you'd think).
So thanks from London. Ill be spreading the word about your tutorials to everyone I know.

@warren goldstein. Went through that in 1992 .Totally adapted now. Of course had anxiety about losing the other ear. Waisted energy.

Yes that's right , this five note scale is called pentatonic. I explained how to play the pentatonic scale then adding the flat five and later the Major 3rd and 7th that makes up (one) of the blues scales.
I hope this helps you understand.

Just curious, wouldn't the scale you're playing the blues scale? I thought the pentatonic scale was primarily 5 notes. I love the lessons btw!! I learned a lot already.
