    "Maybe I do like Beyoncé", you don't say? "I'm not a Beyoncé fan" ::head bopping (to every song):: ,"you can't really choose (which PTX member is the best), you just have to appreciate all of them for what they can do", Very good grasshopper, learn fast you have.🐱‍👤 Hope your health continues to improve.

    PTX will make me like songs that I never did. Scott Hoying is a big Beyoncé fan. Halo is one of his favorite songs of hers to sing. He arranged this Evolution, because he is such a fan. Beyoncé posted it to her Facebook page. There is a Superfruit episode where Scott and Mitch talk about that, with a surprise guest appearance.

    I recognise that I'm biased, but I'd say the most versatile is Scott.
    Not only can he sing many different styles (pop, rock, r&b, country etc.), but he can rap, he can beatbox and he has an insane vocal range covering everything from tenor to baritone to bass.
    But, as you said, one has to appreciate all of them and they're all EXTREMELY talented and versatile.

    Don't worry about it just love them all like I do LOL. "Evolution of Rhianna" is very good as well. Their Evergreen tour this year made me a solid bonafide Pentaholic, if there was any doubt before. Kevin is a beast with that rhythm.

    I have given up trying to pick a favorite in Pentatonix. I have come to the conclusion that it makes no difference who is taking the lead at any particular time because you trust that whoever it is will carry it.

  • @Bonofox1
    @Bonofox1 Před 2 lety +16

    💥👉They are ALL versatile in their own way. But Scott have the most vocal range. Scott is a baritone that can go very LOW bass and hit very HIGH falsettos! He is the KING of riffs and runs. He can sound poppy, soulful r&b and operatic at times. Avi also hit higher notes than his extremely low bass. Kirstie is a mezzo soprano and alto. Mitch can not only hit those high notes he sounds very good as a low tenor. Kevin is beautiful tenor that can hit HIGH falsettos and very deep low drum sounds. Matt hits is bass and and can go high as a baritone or a low tenor. Bottom line THEY ARE ALL AMAZING!!!

    One of my biggest points: pick something you absolutely hate and hear PTX's version and suddenly it is actually so upgraded you like it. Now to do the other side of that problem, and lookup your absolute fave song that PTX has done and listen to how PTX can make it better.

    In addition to the "Evolution of..." series, which someone else has already listed, PTX has some medleys. You have already done the "90's Dance" and "Daft Punk". I like the "Perfume Medley" (Perfume is a Japanese girl group) and "Home" (a 2020 mix of home-themed songs for the pandemic). Their "Wizard of Ahhs" collaboration with Todrick Hall is essentially a medley. They also have "Top Pop" and "N'Sync" medleys, but those are earlier and the sound mix isn't the best.

  • @kwes8466
    @kwes8466 Před 2 lety +3

    I’d say Avi is the most versatile. Considering his solo work and what he does with PTX

  • @alanlundberg4534
    @alanlundberg4534 Před 2 lety

    The most versatile would be a close toss up between Kevin and Scott. Kevin has played at Carnegie Hall on two different instruments (saxophone and cello), is a world class beatboxer, has an excellent singing voice, and is also great at producing and arranging. Scott has a super broad range, can sing virtually any style well, and also plays the piano. However, for pure vocal excellence and purity, Avi, Kristin, and Mitch are/were the three best in PTX. Matt is also a superb vocalist.

    They are all insanely talented and basically equally talented so I comes down to your personal preference. You should do a poll about who our favorite person in the group is. I'm sure you will get a lot of different answers. Loved your reaction

  • @marykuettner752
    @marykuettner752 Před 2 lety +3

    Everyone of them is insanely talented so there is no wrong answer. My favorite is Kirstin because I like the songs she co-writes best. Also in the earliest recordings she rarely sang lead but did incredible harmony work, brought the power verse and key changes in.
    Mitch has great control and a really beautiful voice, Scott is incredibly versatile, Avi and Matt brought different things but I think Avi's experience really helped them win the Sing off. I am not sure if they would be in the same place today without him.
    Kevin's is also a great answer. In the studio he is really important in arranging their music along with Scott and Bram. His beatboxing makes you forget there are no drums.

    PTX is made up of 5 unique extremely talented people who work great together. What we don’t see unless you follow them individually is the other musical talents they have which are not used in the group. I personally can’t choose any one as the most versatile as they all have unique gifts; which in my opinion is what makes them such a strong unit and the best at what they do as PTX. There are about 200 videos from PTX and Superfruit has a bunch also. Then there is the songs each person has released as individuals. You have many, many more videos to watch 🤗

  • @ShinyElfriend
    @ShinyElfriend Před 2 lety +13

    Since you're doing Popspring, you'll be doing the Evolution of Michael Jackson (better than the official video in my opinion, which is saying something). The Beyonce is an older offering, so it might be fun for you to do their evolution of Rihanna, which is newer. Superfruit did both Beyonce and Rihanna as well. Their Rihanna is a medley of just her "Anti" album and its one of my favorite of their non-original music offerings along with their "Empire Medley". They also covered Beyonce's "Feeling Myself" which is pretty epic with the rapping. I've never seen a reactor follow up the Pentatonix evolutions with Superfruit's. You can see they picked out some cool moments from Superfruit's Rihanna for the Pentatonix version, which is cool. And nope, I don't particularly choose to listen to Beyonce, either, OR Rihanna. PTX makes me appreciate them more, though.

  • @joanmilano5302

    My favorite is Avi, and they are all very versatile, but I will 100% recognize that Kevin is the most versatile - you should check out “Kevin Olusola - Down”, some of his solo work, it’ll blow your mind

    The evolution of Arianna is the one that blows me away, and I don’t really listen to her. PTX makes everything better though. I’m excited for PopSpring! Glad you’re feeling better, even if you aren’t 100% yet. Superfruit evolutions/medleys are AWESOME!

    I said the same thing about their Evolution of Ariana Grande video. I'm not a fan of Ariana Grande. nothing against her but she's not my jam. but when I watched that video, I was blown away. we Pentaholics like to say: PTX don't do covers, they do upgrades and the Evolutions are no exception. not to throw any shade at the original artists but they take the originals and take them to a whole new level. my favorite Evolution video is their Evolution of Rihanna so please check that one out next ❤️

    You have to check out the Beyoncé medley (and the others) from Superfruit (Scott and Mitch) too, it's amazing! And speaking of versatile.. maybe Kevin? 👋👋😬😬 the only thing Scott can't do is beat box. (terrible but fun to watch him try!) He covers bass, sings higher than Kirsty, can sing smooth as silk or gravel, blues, jazz, rap, rif runs with the best of them, sings lead on all/most of the foreign language songs.
    He's the anchor

  • @df5199
    @df5199 Před 2 lety +1

    Versatility is different from talent level and fan appeal. It is a range of skills; not the level of skills. All six members are amazingly talented. Here is my versatility list:
    1. Kevin (hands down with the beatboxing, instruments, composing, arranging)
    2. Scott (doesn’t beatbox)
    3. Mitch
    4. Kirstin (no instruments)
    4. Avi (doesn’t rap)
    4. Matt (composing?, arranging?, still proving himself) (has great stage presence)
    Each one is amazing and could have a great solo career. My personal favorite is Kirstin.

And I feel you on having PTX make you like something you didn't before-I can't stand Ariana Grande(she either sings like a breathy 5 year old or belts when it's unnecessary, & I really want to chop off that stupid high pony tail, but that's just me!)
