Bass is Avi who is now making his own music and fantastic, Mitch in the blue shirt is tenor and freaking amazing. Scott is a bit of both and amazing in his own right. Kevin is the beat box king and Kirsten can somehow bring them all together with her beautiful alto to soprano voice. They’re just an amazing group.
I'm so glad that Scott got to lead in most of these songs - Beyonce is his absolute idol and it showed that he loved every minute of it ! They did another on their Superfruit channel and Mitch got to do his favourite also with PTX evolution of Rihanna and the Superfruit version - Anti Medley(Rihanna). Ha ha, poor Barry. So many more years of PTX vocal perfectness you have to go through 😁. You make me remember when I fell through that PTX hole. Watched every episode of the Sing Off. Such talent. Both Avi and Kevin have lovely voices with good ranges. Later on they started to share the solos even more and Scott did the bass when Avi sang the lead. So versatile everyone of them. No, please calm down your poor brain and listen to another version of Dimash singing a lyricless version of Know. The one from the concert in Kiev should do the trick. Then you may dare to listen to PTX and Daft Punk. 😉.
I have never followed Beyonce's career, so all of these songs were new to me. But I like the way they do them.

You are certainly one of the most entertaining reactors I've seen this far. Pentatonix won their first Grammy from their Daft Punk Medley. I highly recommend that as a future reaction. Also, Imagine.

I'm a pentaholic because with hearing issues, they sing so clear and doesn't hurt my ears. Most bands are just mess of noise, I can't distinguish what the individual singers sing and the music. Yet in PTX I can listen to again and again for hours and feel happy while I'm doing it.
I found Pentatonix via Christmas music in Mary Did You Know and then Hallelujah. Then I went down the rabbit hole. Avi (Ahhh-Vee) is the bassy boy in front, and left in 2017 to do solo work which is excellent and worth review as well (Avi Kaplan). Kevin the beatboxer also in front next to Avi is just not human - he started as Cello Boxer before they found him, and now sings, beat boxes, cello boxes, and more that I'm sure others will tell you. Scott (tall guy in middle) brought the group together, contacting his 2 high school friends - Mitch (blue shirt) and Kirstie (rhymes with thirsty). Truthfully, I'm not much of a Pop fan, but I just found Pentatonix to be amazing. Then Avi left and I was a little disheartened. My favorite since he left is their newest, Mad World. Would love for you to react to some of Avi's solo work, but it is a different genre. Thanks.

I hadn't heard most of the originals in this or a lot of their medleys and covers. When I do listen to original or other covers, I have yet to find one i like better than PTX
Barry I really have enjoyed your reactions to Pentatonix. Have followed this group since they won the Sing-Off. With the season just a couple of months away think about reacting to O Come All Ye Faithful...you will never want to hear it sung any other way. Love the human voice and a cappella is just so hard to do really well; PTX just does ist flawlessly with perfection and feeling and they are so equally gifted which is very rare - never heard an a capella group that comes out with 5 people equally "heavy" on stage - greetings and THX for your reaction

When I first listened to and watched this video, I must have watched it 10 times so I could watch each of them doing their own thing. I could never have a favorite in their groups because they make it work together. Everyone they have had with them are all amazing. It’s fun to watch Barry go through the songs and watch them all grow older. Great fun Barry!
Hi Barry, please check out Superfruit. It’s a duo of Scott (the tall one) and Mitch (the one with the high voice). They’ve known each other since high school and have great chemistry. They all do other things outside of PTX.

If you want to hear Avi i highly suggest "Black is the colour" with petter Holland or his cover of "hey yeh" with the Sequoia who he does songs with also!!!!
BTW when you get a chance chck out Mitch and Scott recording on their own as Superfruit - they do a Beyonce medley of their own that is stunning and in spots heartbreaking! They do a lot more great music on their channel, sometimes including Kirsti as a guest...also, Kevin has his own channel where he features his work on the cello, beatboxing and electronic magic to produce some stunning results. Why? Because they make my heart happy. Because they sound so lovely no matter what they sing. Because they are beautiful sweet people and they care so much about their fans. They have determination and talent that is unbelievable. Some of the genres of music they do aren't my favorite, but you better believe they are all on my playlist and I love them and listen to them all on blast when PTX sings. Haha! the look on your face every time Avi sings! You should check out some of his solo songs. He's fantastic.

Again, thank you for your honest enjoyment and amazement of their combined talent and recognizing that they love performing for each other and for us. One thing that has amazed us from 2011 is their diction and breath control. Some of their songs are fun just to listen to their continuous singing without apparent pauses; for Avi: Cruisin' for a Bruisin' (American 60's music), for Mitch (counter tenor): Carol of the Bells, for Kevin (beatboxer): Blinding Lights.
I noticed their diction from the first moment time I heard them. Crystal clear!

That's interesting the trio did the clapping percussion near the end instead of their rythmn section (Avi & Kevin) I never really noticed that before.

Tall boy in the middle, is Scott, Mitch is the one with the blue shirt, and yes, he changes his look all the time. The girl is Kirstie, the bass is Avi, and the beatboxer is Kevin.

Will you please react on a new Russian prodigy Diana ANKUDINOVA, 17? Foreigners call her 'The Queen of Goosebumps' (you often get them while listening) and in Russia her nick is 'The Shamaness' for her deep, dark and somewhat primeval voice.
I've heard a few times how reactors called her 'The Possessed' because of the shocking contrast between her looks of a young girl and her true contralto.
Some even think that her talent equals one of Dimash... She is getting popular in Russia and former Soviet Union especially after her brilliant performances on 'You Are Super!' contest.

Just one question....
Why are you a Pentaholic?
They have worked SO hard to get where they are. After they won the Sing-Off, the music label (a contract with them was part of the prize) dumped them for reasons unknown to me, so they went to LA, lived next to one another and spent days and days brainstorming, composing, practicing. And then they went on social media and built their profile there, and they started touring and putting out new albums, touring again, etc. So in my mind they're wicked talented but also have worked really hard for their success. Personally, I don't understand why I don't hear their stuff on the radio--IMO their music is a gazillion times better than a lot of the stuff they play.
Because they are not human when they sing, but they are so human in all the other ways♡ (if that makes sense?...english is not my first language🙂)
❤I LOVE their story!! The fact that "The Trio" Scott, Kirstie and Mitch are childhood friends, later in high school formed The Trio. Added Avi and Kevin to their group, competed and WON a televised singing competition WON 3 Grammys and set the bar REALLY HIGH for all other Acapella groups. Every single member is SO LIKEABLE all this plus LOTS MORE talent and accomplishments AND THEY ARE STILL YOUNG!!❤

It is my first time hearing this, too. I could have listened to Halo for FOREVER. OMG! SO GOOD! The beat boxers were highlighted in this song. Excellent! Hah, I just tried to do a little of that and spit comes flying out of my mouth. Yeah, that's not going to be my talent. I can keep a beat though, Barry, I grew up making a tambourine talk.. The tambourine doesn't get as much appreciation as it should and probably why I’m not famous by now.
If you want to see them sing a lot of different songs in a short time, watch the video of PTX trying to sing 100 songs in 10 minutes. It is pretty amazing that what they do comes very naturally.
I am not a Beyonce fan but I do love PTX bc I am a harmony person. I love harmony and PTX does it right. Fun review! BTW, I just watched as Dimash performance, War and Peace, August 2019...you will LOVE it ! He looks incredible and what a song....just fyi. 💖😉

While I love every single song/medley/mash-up they've done, some recommendations for musical prowess: Gold, Aha! At the Star Vista, Bohemian Rhapsody, Dance of Sugar Plum Fairy. Their original Run to You is brilliant. Emotional: Imagine, Mary Did You Know?, and Little Drummer Boy. Oh! Their version of Silent Night is...there are no words...
Edit: I forgot to add a category for fun: Sing and Radioactive are both great for that!
I really love your reaction and reviews, people are really missing out if they don't stay for your reviews, you outdid yourself this time due to PTX being so amazing. Ooooo!!! The blond center (Scott) and little brunette (Mitch) (along with the young lady (Kirstin) are friends from childhood. For a while Scott and Mitch shared a house and did a side-project YT channel and made a (with music) album under the name Superfruit. The two of them did a medley of all of Beyonce's self-titled album. If you just search Surperfruit Beyonce it'll come up.... from their album videos I suggest Imaginary Parties and Deny U (all are good, as you'd imagine though as you'd expect).
